    You are a smart guy, I like the way you analyze and rationalize everything first, then make your move with purpose and confidence.

    Very nice . I ran the e35 and had a blast. This has to be super cool to run . I wish I could do what you did on purchasing a new excavator. Nothing like owning your own new equipment yourself. The very best to you .

    You said
    “I never talked about my desire to buy an excavator “
    That’s an unspoken desire in men! I’m so glad I can live variously through you, it’s way less expensive. You’ll be a pro in no time. Take the time watching operators in action with that bucket. You’ll see the difference in a good operator compared to great ones. You can pick up a piece of trash in your yard i.e. bottles, cans when you have mastered it! HAVE FUN.

    That looks like a nice excavator. Nothing wrong with Bobcat equipment IMO.
    As far as new vs used. That is tricky because a lot can be undisclosed in auctions but new you absolutely know what you are getting. Auction prices around here seem ridiculous on just about everything. I usually know the cost of new and if auctions are encroaching on that price, by a self set percentage, I pass on the equipment.
    Can't wait to see it in action and you will probably find even more projects to use it on as time goes by.

    I put nearly 3000 hours on e50 before I traded it in for a e88 I loved it never had a problem with it. And it’s easy top-tier excavator in power and trim levels as far as that weight class goes. You will love it! Oh and I will order another e50 here soon!

    Just did the exact same thing for my own personal use. 25 acres, partially wooded , so lots of upkeep to keep the place looking good. Only thing is I bought a 2023 Kubota KXO 57-5. Paid about $10,000 more than you did out the door. Makes me feel better that someone else rationalized it like me. Enjoy your machine !

      I think there are a few of us out there! Hopefully your Kubota gives you many years of good service. I've heard a lot of good things about the Kubota minis.

    Now days owning vs renting is a much wiser move especially with equipment such as that. As you stated you can work at your liesure and do not need to feel rushed to get the machine back by the rental due date. I have now doubt you'll be able to sell it when you are done and chances are you'll break even if not end up making money in the end!

    Very nice mini excavator, many people won’t understand how versatile is that little machine and how many different things you can do with that mini excavator and some people may think it was a bad investment, but if you also used it as as a part time job you can easily pay it off I one year. Excavations services are around $1300-1500 per 6-8 hrs day where I live
    Just give a business card to few general contractors whom specialize in building homes and you will get you investing back in no time.

    I knew a little about Bobcat when they were owned by Clarke forklift. Then, when Bobcat was a cash cow for Clarke, Clarke sold to Tenneco Corp, who sold Bobcat and that sale probably made Tenneco back most of their cost of Clarke. At least that’s how I remember it. 👍

    Looking at a 1050hr E50 for $44,000. Was used to install pools and then maintain ATV trails

    • @mmrbeef
      @mmrbeef  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Used machines are all about how they are maintained. Tracks, rollers, drive sockets, and boom/bucket pins. Any savings can quickly be eaten through needing to replace tracks and needing any type of stick work. $44k doesn’t sound terrible. I haven’t followed used prices but when I was shopping 1.5 years ago a 1000 hr unit ranged from 65-40, most were in the 45-50 range.

    I guess the real boss agreed with the purchase so you could not have any excuse for not working on the honey do list of which the basement is key. Nice machine, you really need a bigger bucket and put that one on the backhoe of a JD.
