This was literally only the 1st episode in this trailer and the show is soo good and the trailer does not do it any justice.

It's a bit depressing that they're marketing this the exact same way they do with any other edgy CW show. Nancy Drew anthologies don't go by that tone.
*Look, I'll be honest with you guys.. I grew up reading Nancy Drew classics too and hence, I was very sceptical about this show, particularly it's supernatural elements!*
*Not to forget that George and Bess aren't cousins in this universe, Nancy has a strained relationship with Carson, Hannah Gruen is not Nancy's housekeeper & well, the whole parentage thing..*
*However, this is still a solid show (s1, at least)!! Yes, it's a pretty dark take, filled with ghosts and evil spirits and yes, they've changed the dynamics between the characters.. But it has still got that 'Nancy Drew spirit' (pun intended)!*
*I appreciate the cast & the showmaker's efforts and I like the fact that every episode is not a different mystery (that would've felt very formulaic)..*
*Lastly, the show may be dark & edgy, but it's definitely not the mess that Riverdale is..*

Fully agree. I'm a huge fan of ND games, and had no probs with this being very different, but still good. It's ok to have a different version of the character/world, I believe

What? Why? I remember reading all of the sleuthing Nancy Drew books as a kid/teenager. This is nothing close to Nancy Drew. The take on horror, fear? Come on. Nancy Drew was always a story pitted in reality and mystery, not jump scares. Stop this. It gave you the clues, the "maybe culprits" and Nancy did the detective work for you, beautifully mapping out the world, the people and the mystery of the Nancy Drew world. This whole "Let's make everything 2019" is disgusting to me too. Nancy Drew's 1930 world is nothing to change, it makes it that much more interesting, mysterious and beautiful and completely muddles Carolyn Keene (Edward Stratemeyer) creation. Enough with the remakes, re-tellings, re-imagining and just slapping the name of something people already know in households. Try to actually make, title, and write something original for a change. I'm sick of it.
Some of the Nancy Drew books had supernatural leanings - I don't think it ever ended up being actually supernatural, though, in the end. Remember Nancy Drew and The Secret of Shadow Ranch?

When I first watched this trailer I was like "eeew no" but then my friend forced me to watch the show so I binge watched 3 episodes and I tell you "I have no regrets" 😊

Somebody has to be very inattentive, not to notice that. I think the producers are that close to blatantly ripping off the creator of Veronica Mars. That series was very original and so well written. I hope Nancy Drew is well written, because it's not very original.
I collect Nancy Drew books and anything Nancy Drew. This is a far cry from those books. I didn't like the trailer, or the cast. I give it only a couple of episodes. Too bad ,because the books are so good.

I am so happy to see this. I never knew Ned was black. I thought Bess was her cousin and George is their best friend not a nemesis. Though her mother died Nancy and her dad have a great life. I really hate they switched everything it's like they read the books but said fuck it

I loved the books 📚 as a kid and now as a adult I love ❤️ The series. Very addicted I highly recommend it. I don’t watch much tv unless it’s meaningful or I’m learning something its true stories but this little show I like 👍

nancy drew has a great movie the 2019 version everyone who hasn’t seen it yet you should totally watch it i recommend you watch it because it’s got great mystery solving stuff and it’s really funny especially Nancy Drew she’s great in her new movie wow some parts are scary haunted like when Nancy Stays in a haunted house to help out an old lady and her grand daughter find a creepy ghost that’s been haunting them and terrifying them at night for years.
Emma Roberts version of Nancy Drew was so much better this is just Riverdale and Supernatural mix together

this is not the nancy drew that we grew up with and loved. the nancy drew that we grew up with lived in river heights, did not hate her dad (who was a lawyer btw) they were very close, was best friends with bess and george who were cousins, her mom died when she was three, she was a detective, not a murder mystery solver. not to mention hannah gruen, their house keeper existed in the books. this show doesn't do the series justice.

I have a question, how did Ryan find a picture of Nancy as a baby among Lucy's things...!!? Note that Lucy committed suicide after giving birth to Nancy..!!? And how is the picture of Nancy in the necklace, which is the same among the notes of pregnant Lucy..?!! There is something terribly wrong with the plot of the story
It's because they didn't even think about the plot lines. That's why everyone gets in stupid relationships and they end so fast and why everyone of Nancy's love interests die or leave in an episode or two.
"This is exactly like Riverdale" - well, I thought that, too at first. How could I not? They basically promote it like that - which is unfortunate because it's really so much better! Give it a try, especially if you like a good mystery, supernatural elements, a nice group of friends, and some love (Even if you know the books; I don't, but I guess it's quite different).
I'm really enjoying this up to date story line. The cast is stellar, loving everything! Blah Blah Blah to all the Naccy Drew books I read in my youth.

I read Nancy Drew during my teen years. This show should not have been titled 'Nancy Drew'. I don't like they just use an old popular good character in a movie that has nothing similar things with the character/story in the past. Just name it different, maybe a new show will be more successful. Nowadays producers/someone in the charge of movies like to ruin good old stories into a new one which is a completely sucked way to do, imo. E.g. look what they did to the old MacGyver! Just name it different wth.
I was happy with the title but the trailer is showing something far from what we read in books. Looking forward to watch the show. Really hope it do some justice.

I grew up reading the Nancy Drew books from the sixties and the reboots from the 80s I’m debating on whether or not to check this show out, it’s been awhile since I’ve read the series though.

watched ep 1.. it literally copied Riverdale season 1 in term of style, plot, even the diner looks so similar the Riverdale's diner.. heck even the lighting is dark! just like Riverdale

Alot of cry baby's here. Its a fun serie good for a binge watch. People always complain its bot same as the book or my childhood is broken now bla bla. It happens with every cartoon, book, remakes and so on. You can never get the same childhood feeling back ever youre grown up now.

POV from Trailer before watching the episode: I grew up with WB11 Charmed and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. It honestly looks like they are trying to make the old shows darker and seems to work for this generation, just not for me. I'm going to keep an open mind, even though I couldn't get past the first episode of Sabrina and Charmed shows. I don't like this storyline or trailer promo.

Why do they do this? It's like they're allergic to fun happy shows with friends solving a mystery. There has to be some drama and darkness to it for them to make it. All I want is something fun fluffy and engaging IS THAT SO MUCH TO ASK?

I don't know, seems like most cw shows, a privileged Mary Sue at the center of a diverse cast who are just in awe of her. Who writes and produces this, it's very clear who they think rules the world.
Its nothing like the books but I like the development on the characters and story on this. Hope it will be consistent with the following seasons..
