I've done the 2017's class of the NFL Academy, this sh*t changes lives. Im so glad to see what happened to this program..
Shout out to #26 who's carrying the legacy!
Main difference with youth american football in Europe is... we play on a club level.
So 2-3 times practice per week max for 2 hours in the evening after school or work. The players and coaches have to put tons of effort and dedication into it. We have players in our team who have to travel up to 3 hours to practice and 3 hours back. All that with no external money support as... club sports with almost no sponsors etc...
Teams like the NFL academy are the execption to the rule in Europe as they can train more with the kids being present all on or near the facility
#47 (who had the sack at 15:48 ) is from our youth team originally and started to play 2 years ago.
You also need to understand that most of the players from the NFL academy are 18-19 years so they have a big age and strength advantage compared to the average US HS.
Happy to share more background on European American Football
Glad to see good American football being played in Europe. I was very caught off guard when you said you only practice around 6 hours a week considering in high school football we would practice around 2 hours every weekday year around. But this Academy team just wiped the ground with a good high school team.
They aren’t high school players tho. They are 18-19
I dont know about your High School, but when i was on an exchange year in america, our high school football team practiced 2-3 hours every single week day, with the only exception being on away matches days. And it was a small as fuck school, didnt even compete in the top tier of the state. So i really wanna know what school does 2-3 practices a week.
@@bettmo7494 if you are referencing the Huskies4445 then what he means is that it isnt tied to a school and you go to a club 2/3 times a week on the evening it isnt run through schools it is fully grassroots. The team I run in the UK we only currently have 1 training session a week for 2 hours (Youth and Junior 13-16/16-19) and the our adult team practices 3 hours a week and we are thinking of putting in a midweek session but it is mainly funding the issue.
@@danielgaston4725 The NFL academy is the best of the best of young European Gridiron/American Football players. AFIK, it's set up to give these guys scholarships to D1 schools in the states, or at the very least to a european Uni that offers football scolarships.

Your delusional, majority of the world does not care about the sport.

I love American football but it wouldn't make sense for it to be in the Olympics because there is absolutely no competition around the world that it is even close to Americans. To be honest, it is questionable that Erasmus Hall is the #1 Football team in NY. There are other teams across the state that could/would possibly beat them like many of the Catholic schools or some select public programs like Buffalo’s Bennett, Syracuse’s CBA, many of the CHSAA schools(NYC area Catholics), Albany’s CBA, Arlington, Newburgh, etc. So, be careful with that statement.
I’m at cba albany and was thinking no way we lose to this team lmaooo

Just imagine if they fly a Texas team out there, especially Desoto or Duncanville.
This game would've been a lot different if it was against a top Texas, Florida, or Cali HS team
Most of the European kids come from countries where American football is an afterthought (compared to soccer, basketball, Rugby, etc.) and haven't been playing for very long. Of course a top team from Texas, Florida, etc., where American football is basically everything and has been for generations, would beat them. It's just good to see the game growing internationally.
Nah fr I said those same 3 states. It would of been a lot different but good for them to play against legitimate 5A teams

This was an epic video 🙏 fan from NZ
Respect to Europe for balling out & getting the W. That being said, New York is not a football state, it’s a basketball state. The #1 amateur football team in NY is the equivalent of just another good football team in Texas, Florida, GA, Louisiana, & Alabama. Get them against a top tier team from Texas & I doubt the results will be the same. I feel this will blow their heads up thinking they’re really good (they are for a European team) but in America? It’s a thousands of schools all over the South that would crush them. Dee should’ve gotten a team from the South instead but tbh I think he knew they’d prob get smoked had it been the #1 team from say Louisiana or Florida & so with that he felt he had to give them a fair competition & went with a New York team instead while simultaneously giving them a spot to shine too since they’re not known for football. No disrespect to Europe they played real well but I couldn’t help but notice. Again, shoutout to them they did well.
