I have so many memories of playing RE4 on both my Gamecube and Wii. Ever since first hearing Serenity, it's always made me want to cry. That melancholic and calming melody just hits all of the right spots. It's so bizarre learning after all of these years that this one track in the game changed so many lives for many years to come. Including mine. Resident Evil 4 really is the best game ever crafted into existence.
Bad upbringing, man... I really miss those golden days, back from school, Hold the console and suddenly; This wonderful and strange feeling comes to us, the feeling of entering another world, the feeling of immersion! Everything was better in those days, the whole world was a better place and I know it's all about nostalgia but... I think growth is inevitable and you can't escape it.
I really expected a moment in the remake where Leon and Ashley sit at that room for a moment before going out to the horror that awaits them and chit chat a bit, while the music plays and it thunders. Like that elevator near the end of the game, where she talks about going to missions with Leon. It would have been sweet. Thank you for this edit!
The Remake is _great._ But... nothing can compare to that eerie feeling the original one had. The Remake is a 9 out of 10... but the original will always be a perfect 10. After all... it's Shinji Mikami's magnum opus.

My elder brother introduced me to the Resident Evil 4 back in 2017 when the seventh installment was still the talk of the day. He let me borrow his copy of it on the Nintendo Wii which gave me and boy, let me tell you that I played the HELL out of it. I remember falling in love Leon Kennedy, the guns he used and even the enemies he went up against. What I loved the most, however, was the atmosphere and music of the game; I had never seen anything like it beforehand and was, therefore, a real game changer to me. Whether it be exploring a village that was clearly disrepair, a castle that was run by the occult or an action packed island base filled with mercenaries armed to the teeth, I enjoyed each and every second of it. Aside from playing it back in 2020 on the PS4 (has it already been three years ago? Sheesh), I haven't touched the original Resident Evil 4 in quite some time yet, nevertheless, the impression it left on me will never be forgotten. :^)

What an amazing display of game design, this song does such a good job at telling you that you are safe that you don't need anything else. If this game came out today the whole thing would be covered in yellow vomit, there would be signs all around telling you it's safe, notifications on the ui, a pop up window, an unskipable saving tutorial and another sign on the inside of the door warning you that going outside means you are exposed to danger again
It's like I can still remember the first time I played RE4 on PS2. That first time I think I just fell in love with that game, and to this day it's my favourite game. It feels like, in a period of deep pain as a child, the dark and mysterious but also beautiful world that Capcom crafted here always took my problems away for a while. For me, its safe room theme represents a real feeling of safety, of home...
This reminds me being in my grandmothers room while its cold, blankets covering the window with the AC on after coming from outside. It also reminds me of around winter while my other grandmother would cook so bomb ass tamales or any type of Mexican food 😂 while i player this in the dark, waiting for her to finish 😂😅 i miss both of them.
Grew up with this game, always played it at least 4 times a year if not more for the past 2 decades almost. Still the most nostalgic and almost fairytale like game to me, it will never be matched by anything else ive played (The silent hill games being a very close contender) If i ever decide to have kids, i will do my best to try and make them love this game, so they can feel as happy as I am hearing this specific song later in their lives. Because this feeling im having listening to this is nothing short of priceless to me.

Este es indiscutiblemente el verdadero juego, el remake es de lejos a que se parezca al original, hubiera preferido un Remaster, arruinaron el juego poniendo horror pero se olvidan que Re4 tuvo éxito por lo que realmente fué un juego dado a la acción y aventura, en el remake cambiaron muchos sitios del juego, cambiaron a la vestimenta de los ganados, en el remake los ganados más parecen zombies manipulados, pero en el original parecen gente racional infectada con el virus y eso lo hacía bueno, en el remake hubieran mantenido a los ganados del juego original, las músicas para que todo parezca familiar, cambiaron el rostro de Krauser, de Ada pareciendose más a asiática, bueno el rostro de ashley y Luis sera quedo perfecto, todo ésto es por culpa de la gente que pidió a gritos horror en el juego, Re4 el original es insuperable.

The most memorable part is when you exit this safe haven into the middle of the village. You are greeted by "Echo In The Dark" soundtrack, it is the scariest part as your visibility is substantially reduced, bumping into enemies isn't uncommon, not even your weapons can make you feel safe.
Thank you for Resident Evil 4, a game I have played through dozens of times. I remember the first time I played through it was the PS2 version. During the summer vacation after the college entrance examination, I did very poorly in the exam. One afternoon during the summer vacation when my future was uncertain, I played through this game for the first time. Although it was only on the normal difficulty level, I passed it after many failed attempts at driving a speedboat. I walked through the tunnel and saw the finale. Later, I walked out of the house and saw the sun that I had not seen for a long time. The sun that day was as dazzling as the sunshine after passing the customs. I am still deeply impressed.
Remembering times me and grandpa used to play and watch this game. Now he passed away for 7 months now. Time really goes fast, brings so many memories and regretful thoughts. I still miss him to this day and watch our videos recorded together..
It a damn shame that they didn't make this room as special as the original, clearly they didn't understand the atmosphere of this room and what it represent, I played the original a 100 time only to get to this room I don't know exactly what it is that make this room so special, The Serenity ambient, the feeling of comfort after getting out of the village at dark, the environment design, probably all of them.

@@elpiedra1596 No, we didn't expect a remaster, and they did a hell of a job remaking the game. They really understood what mattered to the fans and took good care of those parts, even the little details like Leon's silliest jokes and lines. However, it's unfortunate that they didn't quite understand the atmosphere of some of the locations, including this particular room. The color grading in some of the locations was wrong, and they didn't capture the creepy vibe of the original game. I understand why they did it; they wanted to maintain a sense of photorealism in the game and story, but they took it a bit too far, and some of the places lost their magic. But aside from this, I absolutely love the Remake; it's a fantastic game and an impressive remake.
Yeah, the most obvious problem was the pre-production process. While most of the character and prop designs were good enough, the RE 4 remake had the worst environmental concept art I've ever seen. When you look at the RE 4 original artbook or RE 7, you notice they invested a lot of time in the environmental design before diving into production. RE 7 boasted some of the best concept art and environment design, especially Ward Lindhout's concept arts. To be fair, they took the design and story and improved upon them significantly compared to the original. I guess I can live with that, because one of the greatest strengths of the original RE 4 was its replay value, which I believe they've pull it off greatly. @@hudsonS238

There are monsters running around and a thunderstorm, and you know you're about to reenter hell. I can only imagine how much time players like myself just hung out in this room before running back out into the fire.

The Remake is _great._ But... nothing can compare to that eerie feeling the original one had. The Remake is a 9 out of 10... but the original will always be a perfect 10. After all... it's Shinji Mikami's magnum opus.

My elder brother introduced me to the Resident Evil 4 back in 2017 when the seventh installment was still the talk of the day. He let me borrow his copy of it on the Nintendo Wii which gave me and boy, let me tell you that I played the HELL out of it. I remember falling in love Leon Kennedy, the guns he used and even the enemies he went up against. What I loved the most, however, was the atmosphere and music of the game; I had never seen anything like it beforehand and was, therefore, a real game changer to me. Whether it be exploring a village that was clearly disrepair, a castle that was run by the occult or an action packed island base filled with mercenaries armed to the teeth, I enjoyed each and every second of it.
Aside from playing it back in 2020 on the PS4 (has it already been three years ago? Sheesh), I haven't touched the original Resident Evil 4 in quite some time yet, nevertheless, the impression it left on me will never be forgotten. :^)

What an amazing display of game design, this song does such a good job at telling you that you are safe that you don't need anything else.
If this game came out today the whole thing would be covered in yellow vomit, there would be signs all around telling you it's safe, notifications on the ui, a pop up window, an unskipable saving tutorial and another sign on the inside of the door warning you that going outside means you are exposed to danger again

It's like I can still remember the first time I played RE4 on PS2. That first time I think I just fell in love with that game, and to this day it's my favourite game. It feels like, in a period of deep pain as a child, the dark and mysterious but also beautiful world that Capcom crafted here always took my problems away for a while. For me, its safe room theme represents a real feeling of safety, of home...

Grew up with this game, always played it at least 4 times a year if not more for the past 2 decades almost.
Still the most nostalgic and almost fairytale like game to me, it will never be matched by anything else ive played (The silent hill games being a very close contender)
If i ever decide to have kids, i will do my best to try and make them love this game, so they can feel as happy as I am hearing this specific song later in their lives. Because this feeling im having listening to this is nothing short of priceless to me.

Este es indiscutiblemente el verdadero juego, el remake es de lejos a que se parezca al original, hubiera preferido un Remaster, arruinaron el juego poniendo horror pero se olvidan que Re4 tuvo éxito por lo que realmente fué un juego dado a la acción y aventura, en el remake cambiaron muchos sitios del juego, cambiaron a la vestimenta de los ganados, en el remake los ganados más parecen zombies manipulados, pero en el original parecen gente racional infectada con el virus y eso lo hacía bueno, en el remake hubieran mantenido a los ganados del juego original, las músicas para que todo parezca familiar, cambiaron el rostro de Krauser, de Ada pareciendose más a asiática, bueno el rostro de ashley y Luis sera quedo perfecto, todo ésto es por culpa de la gente que pidió a gritos horror en el juego, Re4 el original es insuperable.

Whenever I hear this, I just remember anticipating the fight with El Gigante in the quarry area right before you enter the church. I had the strategy guide when I was a kid and when I saw El Gigante on the page I freaked out because I had to fight him
The most memorable part is when you exit this safe haven into the middle of the village. You are greeted by "Echo In The Dark" soundtrack, it is the scariest part as your visibility is substantially reduced, bumping into enemies isn't uncommon, not even your weapons can make you feel safe.

Thank you for Resident Evil 4, a game I have played through dozens of times. I remember the first time I played through it was the PS2 version. During the summer vacation after the college entrance examination, I did very poorly in the exam. One afternoon during the summer vacation when my future was uncertain, I played through this game for the first time. Although it was only on the normal difficulty level, I passed it after many failed attempts at driving a speedboat. I walked through the tunnel and saw the finale. Later, I walked out of the house and saw the sun that I had not seen for a long time. The sun that day was as dazzling as the sunshine after passing the customs. I am still deeply impressed.
I would love to have dinner on that room and table.

It a damn shame that they didn't make this room as special as the original, clearly they didn't understand the atmosphere of this room and what it represent, I played the original a 100 time only to get to this room I don't know exactly what it is that make this room so special, The Serenity ambient, the feeling of comfort after getting out of the village at dark, the environment design, probably all of them.

@@elpiedra1596 No, we didn't expect a remaster, and they did a hell of a job remaking the game. They really understood what mattered to the fans and took good care of those parts, even the little details like Leon's silliest jokes and lines. However, it's unfortunate that they didn't quite understand the atmosphere of some of the locations, including this particular room. The color grading in some of the locations was wrong, and they didn't capture the creepy vibe of the original game. I understand why they did it; they wanted to maintain a sense of photorealism in the game and story, but they took it a bit too far, and some of the places lost their magic. But aside from this, I absolutely love the Remake; it's a fantastic game and an impressive remake.
Yeah, the most obvious problem was the pre-production process. While most of the character and prop designs were good enough, the RE 4 remake had the worst environmental concept art I've ever seen. When you look at the RE 4 original artbook or RE 7, you notice they invested a lot of time in the environmental design before diving into production. RE 7 boasted some of the best concept art and environment design, especially Ward Lindhout's concept arts. To be fair, they took the design and story and improved upon them significantly compared to the original. I guess I can live with that, because one of the greatest strengths of the original RE 4 was its replay value, which I believe they've pull it off greatly. @@hudsonS238
@@elpiedra1596Then you barely played it. This room is iconic. And one of the reasons it's so special is because you go through hell to get to this one special safehaven. There are monsters running around and a thunderstorm, and you know you're about to reenter hell. I can only imagine how much time players like myself just hung out in this room before running back out into the fire.
