      Well it may be weird, but I would specifically call out the music if that is fair. Its probably the most nostalgic part of the games, and just totally takes me back there... even when most songs I listened to off the radio fail to do that now. I guess thats just how it has effected me, but also there is something in the music that is just inspiring itself. Makes me wanna create stories(even tho I never do lol) and it helps me reflect on things, as I guess I already said.
      And In 100% of the ways, your music also does that and really helps because the same songs can grow stale listening to them for 20 years. Dont get me wrong, I love the original music still, but am real glad someone like you exist. No one else does this do they? No one out there is making fan zelda music, or fan Final Fantasy or Fan Bat Man... Lol I guess thats why I make so many request to you. Especially after you killed that Halloween Theme Reprisal thing you did.

      Mine's obvious: game development.
      But besides that, I think a lot of the creepiness comes from the way they use old and withered devices and art styles that beget a sense of mystery, like the typewriters, the oil paintings (some of which are real paintings from the 1800s or thereabouts), the architecture, the sconces, and so on. I believe this is at least partially why I seek out things that have long histories which I know I'll never fully discover. It's a fair few languages I've studied for example, and nearly every single one of them is useless from a utilitarian standpoint, as most of them are dead and are not Latin. Which begs the question, where did the footsteps go once they'd gone through the bed?

      Understanding and studying the concept of morbid beauty. The Save Music especially is a prime example of RE's strange serenity it possesses within its atmosphere of horror. There's a tranquility to the evil. Even Alice's amnesiac wandering and flashbacks in the first movie are an example of it.

    When I first heard this song I was dead broke. Me and my step daughter at the time would be sitting at the house with no internet other than the data on my phone while her mother was out doing who knows what. When it was time to go to sleep I would play this over the Bluetooth speaker in the living room and we would quietly drift off to sleep. Is it crazy that sometimes I miss that worse phase of my life when I hear this song?

    • @SurvivalSpheres
      @SurvivalSpheres  Před 3 lety +42

      Sometimes it happens that people share real deep and special memories here, and this is one of those moments, which make me gratefully sit down for a while. I know that strange feeling of nostalgia for challengingly uncertain times, and I don't think you actually do miss the hardship itself, but rather the small, precious things and moments that you cultivated back then... and that you treasure till today. Because that's what gave you the strength to go on and eventually overcome. Hard times tend to correct our focus, I guess, so congratulations for using this potential and thank you for sharing. All the best to you and your girl.

    • @SurvivalSpheres
      @SurvivalSpheres  Před 7 lety +7

      Oh yes I loved the classic RE and the games that came after it, with the biggest impact coming from the minimalistic and monotonous music. Right after that comes the feeling of hiding away in a save spot from the nightmarish threat lurking outside, resting for a moment at peace, like a small, flickering lantern that is surrounded by darkness. Thanks for listening!

    As you slowly progress deeper into the dead and empty halls of the hidden lab, your head begins to lightly throb. A dark sense of deja Vu creeps up on you and it feels as though your body knows the way, as if on a daily routine. It wasn't until you reached an office, your name on the door plate, that you realized what had happened. Fumbling the key card you had in your pocket the entire nightmare into the door filled the hallway with the CLICK of the lock. Inside, photos of different genetic structures and files on the different monsters you had faced. All the hell above, those creatures prowling the dark surface streets, none were the true monster. The true monster was locked away, your head pounding as the memories flooded back. When the pain finally subsided, you take a deep breath and slide files off of the desk, the holographic screen fading to life and greeting you with a screenshot of the virus, writhing within the cells it infected under a microscope. There was still work to do, and having seen your beautiful children in action against what survivors there were, you had plenty of ideas of just how to improve your gift to the city above...
