- Who is Arya?
Arya was one of my cats that we had to put to sleep last week after a lot of health struggle.
Sad of her loss, but relieved she doesn't suffer anymore, I've sculpted her as a tribute.

This is beautiful work. I've never seen anyone "paint" with clay the way you do instead of using chalk pastels or paint. I'm sorry for your loss.

I know this video was posted awhile ago, but I wanted to tell you how moving it is. As I watched your video, I was crying because I lost my beloved cat to kidney failure last year. It was heartbreaking and although I have another cat now, I still miss her dearly. I wanted to memorialize her in polymer clay, but did not know if I could do her spirit justice. Your video has really inspired me to try, because it’s such a beautiful way to remember them. You’ve captured Arya so beautifully here. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

I came here to make a Christmas ornament for my cat Cooper who I had to put sleep on August 17th due to kidney disease. The fact you made Arya a sculpture as a tribute is so touching, thank you for putting this video out here. Also, lots of love even though I'm four months late as it is 2020. (:

I needed that cry as well as the tutorial, thank you, life is so short and I feel closer to what's important like finding happiness despite the pain.
So beautiful! The cat's face is amazing! I lost one of mine last October (he wasn't the first and probably won't be the last but it leaves you feeling awful.) I wish you and yours health and happiness xx (I never saw anyone painting with polymer clay before...it's lovely!).

I felt sorry for the sculpter because I lost an Cat too whe n I was little. Still I enjoyed seeing her sculpt the cat. it was with so much care that I took her for advice on sculpting techniques. But when I tried to sculpt along with her video, I realised, that I couldn't really catch the perspective she was starting with. was the little point of the ball looking downwards or more towards me? it took me weeks to come up with something compareable...
So, long story short: when Ian says, he enjoyed the video and he gives probs by mentioning the level of being realistic, that is none the less a reason to pout him, because she is sculpting her dead cat. Him saying he enjoyed the video was just something positive for a sad person.
I'm so sorry about your cat. I'm sure you loved her very much. The sculpture is beautiful and a wonderful way to remember her.

+Keepsake Crafts - Sandy Huntress As I write in my blog post and below the video, she was suffering a lot in her last days and she had lost a lot of weight the last month, so I was sort of prepared. Also seeing a cat suffer is horrible, so her death, even though heart breaking was also a bit of a relief.
+Stephanie K. PetitPlat Yes, I understand. I didn't read your blog post until after writing the above. We've been there, had to put a few kitties down, including one this past December. Although we miss him, we're glad to know he's not suffering any longer.
On a brighter note, I need to try more sculpting with a toothpick! :-) Love what you did there.

david poirier she was sick and was euthanized because her quality of life was poor and her vet probably recommended euthanasia to put the cat out of her misery

I'm sorry for your loss. I had to have my golden retriever put to sleep a few weeks ago, and it was very hard, but I know that she's not in pain anymore. You are extremely talented. This is absolutely beautiful. Keep doing what you're doing. Your work is very inspiring.

The eyes are made with translucent polymer clay mixed with turquoise clay. I pre-bake them before using them in the sculpture.

+Lindy Diddle it is hard, but it is also such a peaceful way to go. Very mixed emotions at that moment. Especially since her last breath sounded like a happy sigh of relief. I burst out in tears anyway, but I'm honestly glad we could end her life in a gentle way, as her suffering was just too heart breaking.

I think the sculpt resemble Arya in many ways, but especially her beautiful eyes. Her eyes were very big and expressive and I think you've captured them in all their beauty. I am very sorry for your loss. I can remember seeing her pictures from very early days of when I first started following your work and I always thought she was a beautiful cat.
