    Before You Start: Analyze Your iPhone Storage
    The first step to freeing up iPhone storage space is understanding what's taking up all that space. Here's how to do it:
    1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
    2. Tap General.
    3. Tap iPhone Storage.
    4. Here, you'll see a colorful breakdown of how your storage is being used: apps, photos, music, and the mysterious "System Data" or "Other" category. This menu also offers some built-in tools to help you clean up iPhone storage:
    - Offload Unused Apps: This removes apps you don't use often but keeps their data, so you can re-download them later and pick up where you left off.
    - iCloud Storage: (if you use iCloud) You can enable this to store photos and videos in the cloud, freeing up valuable space on your device.
    - Review Large Attachments: This lets you see and delete large files sent or received in Messages.
    Take a moment to explore these options and see if any can help you free up iPhone storage space right away!

    When deleting message attachments that I have sent to others, will it delete the original from my photos or videos? Or just from the file within the storage for the messaging app?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 3 dny +1

      Deleting message attachments that you have sent to others typically only removes the files from within the messaging app's storage. It does not delete the original files from your device's photos or videos. The original files will remain in your device's photo or video gallery unless you delete them separately.

    For clearing iMessage attachments, will it delete them from all my devices or just my iPhone?

    • @cleverfiles
      @cleverfiles  Před 2 měsíci

      Clearing iMessage attachments from your iPhone will only delete them from that device. If you have other devices linked to the same iMessage account, the attachments will remain on those devices unless you manually delete them there as well.

    It looks like most of my space is taken by Applications. Are there any methods to clean up storage without actually deleting the apps?

      If you do not use some of the apps too often, it is a good idea to offload them 5:20
