Poop actually does not float in the pool. Let me explain...
When I was, like, eight, I had this ancient Labrador Retriever named Buddy who loved to go swimming. Eventually, as he got older and couldn't go on walks as much, he'd only swim in the pool for exercise. I think it was a Fourth of July party we were holding at my house, but he was walking around the pool that me and my cousins were swimming in, and he squatted to do his business. Needless to say, he missed and accidentally pooped in the pool.
The only reason I remember this is because my dad enlisted my brother to help him get the poop _out_ of the pool, as it had sunk to the bottom. Two crying kids and a lot of alcohol later (on my dad's part), the pool was drained fairly quickly, scrubbed clean, and me and my cousins threw water balloons at each other in the empty basin that the pool left behind.
When we want to remember Buddy (he passed away a few years ago, unfortunately) that is the first memory that comes to mind.
