August 2023 Miami, Florida Vacation. Day 5: "Key Biscayne" Beach Trip

On this day, August 7th, 2023, I did a beach trip with only my older sister, Carina. Dad and Isabella slept in, so my older sister helped me in this beach trip I wanted to do since the trip was being planned.
It all began with me waking up, doing my morning routine, getting my swimwear on, and packing up my duffle bag with my sneakers, a change of clothes, my sneakers, my sunscreen, and a towel. Since we had to leave super early, I made a breakfast sandwich and grabbed a banana, and filled a thermos with milk, and placed it all into a brown bag as a packed breakfast to eat in the car on our way to the beach.
After I ate my breakfast in the car, and after a while, we both finally reached the beach at around 7:50am. Upon paying the $5.00 fee to park there, we parked the car, gathered out stuff, and then we went over onto the sandy beach itself. We paid to rent 2 beach chairs and an umbrella for the time at the beach, and after we applied sunscreen, we set up our spot, and then I FINALLY took a dip in the water.
Now, this beach so beautful...as beautiful as Florida beaches can be. A sun shinning, the crystal-clear water with waves thrashing against the beach...the whole nine yards. But then, after an hour or two in the water swimming around, I then went to visit the lighthouse. I went up its long spiral stairway, and got so much footage of the top of the lighthouse, and of the amazing view from the distance. I then went to visit the lighthouse keeper's cottage museum exhibit, but unfortunately, it was closed on this day, but it was a fun day either way. On the way down the lighthouse, one of my flipflops broke, so I had to walk even more slowly and carefully to make it out of there, and get ready to leave the back.
I then took a shower via a nearby shower facility, and then, I got my duffle bag, changed out of my swimwear, and then put a set of normal clothes on, as well as my pair of sneakers, all before I threw my damaged pair of flipflops away into the trashcan. My sister and I then left the beach, and headed back home. On the way home, we stopped at a "Starbucks Coffee" for a quick drink to-go via the drive-through, and then continued the drive home.
However, upon getting home, I got an email from Dr. Wendy's office, notifying me that Dr. Wendy herself was sick with COVID-19, so I wouldn't be able to see her the next day as planned. Unfortunately, this means that the first half of Tuesday June 8th would be empty, and I would need to find someone else to do.
Upon getting home, I put my duffle bag items away, and then I made myself a salami and cheese sandwich on toasted white bread, with a side of "Ritz" crackers for lunch. After lunch, I hung around the house for a bit, until my dad got back from his court stuff (as a lawyer). Then, after a while of hanging around the house, I got bored, and asked Dad if he could drop me off at the nearby "Barnes & Noble" bookstore to look around, and he agreed.
I got my bookbag ready, then got in the car, and dad drove me to the "Barnes & Noble". Dad dropped me off, and then we came with an idea for me to walk to the nearby newly-opened "Cheesecake Factory" restaurant at around 5:00pm or so, to meet up with him and Isabella there for dinner, as it was a place I wanted to eat at during my trip.
After a few hours walking around the bookstore, which was located in Coral Gables on Miracle Mile Street, I left at around 5:00pm, and walked over to the new "Cheesecake Factory" restaurant nearby, where I met up with my father and Isabella for our promised dinner there. Dinner there was very good. For an appetizer, we got the complimentary brown bread, and then had some fried mozzarella sticks. For me entrée, I had a bacon cheeseburger and sweet potato fries. To drink, I had lemonade.
For dessert, I had a slice of the chocolate layer cake that they call the “Chocolate Tower Truffle Cake”, and it had 6 layers of chocolate ganache in the middle of each layer of chocolate sponge, so it was very delicious. I ate half and took the other half home with me for later on.
Then, we all went back home, and spent the rest of the day hanging around the house. At nighttime, I did my nighttime routine, and went off to bed, closing off another night of this Miami, Florida vacation.
