The Oz books were my family’s introduction to your art and we all loved it from the beginning. Those books made me go back and read all the Oz books you covered and y’all’s careful and perfect use of the original material makes me love you even more. I think your art perfectly captures the whimsical nature of the writing and reveals it afresh in every way!
Wizard of Oz is honestly my all-time favorite comic series of all time. Everything about it was so charming, the art, the portrayal of the characters. It inspired me so much.
I remember when these comics came out. I’ve always been a huge OZ fan and I almost passed OUT. they were so beautiful and so faithful…..
Long time fan here. I have the OZ omnibus and the entire I Hate Fairyland series as well as Rocket Racoon. Seriously love your work. I have been an character illustrator and character designer for over 20 years and your positive outlook on how your art makes you happy in this vid and many others is wonderfully inspiring. Keep on having fun sir and I and many others will keep on enjoying it with you.

Your version of Wizard of Oz was truly a masterpiece, but it will hold a special place in my heart. I used to be very self conscious about my own artwork and thought I could never become an actual artist. That was, until I saw your and Eric's version of Oz, how it was wacky, weird, and whimsical all at the same time. It was your artwork that convinced me to keep going and pursue my dreams. I'm now a senior at the Kubert School in NJ,l ooking to fulfill my dream. as a comic artist! Thank you for the artistic encouragement and can't wait to see what you'll do in the future!!!

I bought the small trades before my daughter was born. Held onto them until she was a little older. She drooled on them and destroyed them as I read to her over the years. She is 6 now reading the omnibus in her own enjoying the magic. Thanks man

Got to meet Skottie at Chicago ComicCon before COVID. Seriously one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Even saw him live draw Bart from Simpson’s as Deadpool. Love his style and this is a great sketch!

Your illustrations & designs of the Oz characters are excellent. My favorites being the Tin Man, Nome King, Wicked Witch of the West, Zeb, Tik Tok, Tip/Ozma, Jack Pumpkinhead, Shaggy Man, & especially Dorothy. I'm kind of shocked that not many talk about these comics, especially since these are a pretty good way to see the first 6 novels in a modern aesthetic...

I have always loved the originals of these books and you are one of my favorite artists so when I heard you were working on them I was so happy. I have shared these books with my niece and nephew and my daughter and son and I still love them and push people to discover Oz or comics with these books. I keep hoping you and Mr. Shanower will come back and finish the original Baum Oz books. Rinkitink in Oz is my favorite.
