Yep, that's what it's all about! There's a great youtube by Mike MIgnola about finding those shapes that you like to draw. When I don't have a clue what to draw I like beginning my drawing session with simple shapes that I always come back to, that I like to draw, they get me going and before to long morph into characters and other stuff. Love your work and totally agree with you. Talking to my art students I noticed that social media puts pressure on them and they put themselves on a position where they feel they have something to prove thus blocking them. Just draw for fun, just as you said or practice those things that are troublesome to draw. You certainly give me and other artist good advice... and cool drawings.

Fell in love with your style ever since the Rocket Raccoon comics and never looked back. As usual, the way this character flows out of your pencil/pen is just .. yikes ^^ Great stuff, even if it's just a single drawing! Hope to one day witness the moment where you create that comic out of Boy :D

Brilliant help, thanks Skottie! After having some work recognised recently I suddenly felt this huge pressure to deliver and carry on my craft, but after realising that all the pressure was coming from myself, I took to drawing whatever I was seeing: my arm, my hand, the pen, whatever. It works!
Question though: do you ever have days/weeks where you feel like you can’t draw anything, and nothing comes out ‘right’?

Sometimes I try to draw something as something else. One time I was trying to draw Emperor Palpatine but I couldn't draw Ian McDiarmid to save my life. So I drew Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter ...as Palpatine. And it was even more scary. lol.
