    At least you were able to get the cd player restored. Too bad about the amp. You definitely scored on the cd player. Very nice 👌 👍 👏 😀

    I had these in my shop. They were one of the last "midi" systems of that era. Too bad they didn't make a cassette player and eq with spectrum analyzer. to go with it because it was nicely built. The power output was not spectacular but it could play loud with some sensitive speakers. Great score for some second hi-fi system in the house or even a main one if you want.

    On the back of the receiver the rec is is for record for cassette decks and PB is for playback for a cassette deck so basically record is output to your cassette deck and PB is playback input from cassette deck Cassette deck input an output In-N-Out

    Great video! And 116.000KM on a Toyota should be fine for a long time, only regual service. There are a lot of Volvo's with 400.000 KM or more, Toyota should be as good or better. Good deal you made a good profit for taking a little risk. It's a shame the amplifier could not be repaired! The volume control is digital, quite nice because you can fine tune the volume easily.

    Take that CD player apart and clean the head all it needs is cleaned if it reads certain disc's then the head is dirty like I said in the other message or you can buy a CD lens cleaning CD with brushes on it try that too..and Yes the car you have now is a very good good car I love that model very pretty car too other than that box you had I know all about Toyota's there a good car very reliable and they build one hell of a engine..

    Sounds like it's got a dirty lens get Q-Tip 99% isoproponal and gently go forward and backwards over the lens don't put a lot of pressure make sure the machine is off you might need to extend the draw out then turn it off at the mains
    it looks like the preamp is not working if you're not getting anything from the headphones, that would indicate that. but it could be the connecting leads try wriggling the leads when it's playing! Because the guy said one channel didn't work or came in and out ?? that's sounds like it might be the leads get a different set of leads. Also check out the other input sources see if they work trying the other line inputs not the phono tho!!! see if you can get the CD to play through a different line input.
    Any amplifier can be connected to a subwoofer as long as its got live inputs speaker terminals on the subwoofer, just take a thin wire from the amplifier speaker terminals and connect it to the speaker terminals of the subwoof that is the best way to connect a subwoofer. its got tape in and output you can use that for the subwoofer the record rec,
    you can connect that to lfe on sub.
    It is very unlikely the laser is weak As I say it needs cleaning it's not a weak laser sometimes a laser inside gets dirty as well that needs to be flushed out with isopropanol and dried off, but majority of the time lasers don't get weak maybe after 30 years you might have a problem.

      my repair guy didn't want to burn his hands on it so i brought them to another repair guy, he told me he looked for 5 hours to check the receiver but couldn't find the defect. He built in the laser in the cd player and it was working fine, costed me 150 euro in total. Sold both items, only for the defect receiver i had 100 euro back. So it was a fruitfully adventure

      D class amplifiers are small

    • @RoderikvanReekum
      @RoderikvanReekum Před 4 měsíci +2

      @vintagestereo It is Class D amplifier so it has much better efficiency up to 90% almost dubble than AB amplifiers. So with class D all the power goes to the speakers and not in heat.
      I do not think that it can make energy out of thin air though, more than the power supply wattage.

    • @vintagestereo
      @vintagestereo  Před 4 měsíci +2

      @@RoderikvanReekum true what you say but because of this receiver I now discovered that the knowhow of repairing class D receivers is just not there ore hard to find. My regular repair guy Jon didn't want to burn his hands on it. If you know your way in repairing AB class amplifiers that doesn't mean you can automatically also repair D class amplifiers. So a broken D class amplifier will be harder to find a repair guy because most AB specialist don't have enough knowledge for D class. After this experience I don't buy D class anymore because once it get a defect they will cost you much to repair it

    • @RoderikvanReekum
      @RoderikvanReekum Před 4 měsíci +1

      @@vintagestereoYes, it is more difficult to repair. Although if the manufacturer still has the parts it can be repair through the dealers. It think Denon use Audio service in Elst. They just swap some boards. Do not know they have still parts for this amplifier and it will be very expensive out of warranty.

    You can hook a subwoofer up on it just come out of the line 3 REC jacks and run the subwoofer frequency way down if you git a lot of voice out of the sub then buy yourself a low frequency Eq how u hook that up you come out of the Amplifier line 3 Rec rca jacks to the low frequency Eq then out of it to the subwoofer...bring the Amplifier and the Cd player to me ill fix both of them for you for 50 bucks 😂but your going have to ship it to me and ill have to ship it back to you..
