I’m blown away by how brave each of them needed to be to even get this tradition started. Wanda invited an absolute stranger into her home, and Jamal actually WENT to have dinner in a stranger’s home with a bunch of OTHER strangers… I would not have the guts to do either thing, I think.
For real... I wouldn't even want my neighbors over 😅... they are too cute 🤗
This is a wonderful story. I enjoy hearing about it each year. What a blessing Jamal and Wanda are for each other.

It truly is a neat story. I think mainly because of the randomness of how it started and the difference in age. You don't find many teenagers that would continue to follow through on those kinds of friendships and traditions..
I promoted and moved to West Texas. I initially lived my trooper and his family. The number of people who invited me for holiday or family gatherings was amazing. I was made an honorary family member by a great Tia who didn’t speak English but we communicated with hugs and cheek kisses. I love this

I fell in love with these two 7 years ago and every year I love them more! God is Good.
Makes me think of my best friend. She's 60 and I'm 24 we met when I was 19. I even got to travel with her to the country where she grew up (Jordan). Be open minded and treat people like people! You don't suddenly become a boring person when you hit 30, let alone 60! Older people are just like us with more life experiences. You can learn a lot from people who are different than you.

This warms my heart!!! Sometimes the smartest people in the world can't figure out there are good people in every race! No one race acts one way.
