035 - Cessna 182 Intensive Paint and Leather Restoration / ceramic coating

- This Cessna 182rg flew in all the way from New York for an intensive paint correction. The paint had faded significantly and was actually quite thin in certain areas. A 2 step paint correction brought back the shine, before locking it in and protecting it with an ultra durable ceramic coating. As part of this process, I also set up a test area where we use a gloss meter to measure the paint improvement from dirty and oxidized , to cleaned, to rough cut, to final polish, and coating.
Then we shifted our attention to the inside, doing a quick refresh on the leather seats using the @geist.leathercare system. Filling some leather cracks with leather filler, then obtaining a color match with the leather color scanner.

The black streaks off the cowling rivets is called “Fretting” basically it’s metal dust from years of vibration.

I’m curious about the pads you used. Can you give a better description of this blue pad and you said you used another one? Also when I see you using the pad I see you only doing the white part of the plane and you don’t touch the blue paint any reason why? Love your work

I’d love too know his ceramic primer polish. There’s thousands of different ceramics, but I’ve never heard of a ceramic polish. 🤔🤔 I love what he said about it, though definitely will be ordering some! This guy is the 🐐
Was there some corrosion on the top of the wing surface? How do you deal with that if you find it?
That is a paint shop issue. Nothing I can do about it
