Live Rammstein just pip Nightwish but its a close thing! That said between Floor and Tarja Nightwish have had 2 of the best vocalists I have ever heard! and Marco has a great set of pipes as well
I would say rammsteinâs show might be a bit more theatrical and intense but the quality of the actual musical performance isnât on par with Nightwish...

Hello. from NW Army! :) Since you started this journey, here are some info that may help you navigate (a short history of the band, concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan): Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland. Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition. Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just saw her. Symphonic Metal seems to me to be an elaboration of epic doom metal ( Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, possibly Trouble)... with the symphonic backing and the full female operatic vocals ...I donât care much for it , finding it too lush, too feminine , and the reaction of the fans seems neurotic as heck to me , all the girls crying and mouthing the lyrics Tarja was the best frontwoman because she is very attractive and has a very nice color to her voice .
I have to disagree there, Jay. Tarja is a good singer, but kinda limited to the opera range. Also, the jawline is a bit too pronounced for me to consider her attractive. I mean... She's a few centimeters away from the Iron Maiden mascot, if you ask me.

@@gabriel.bardac I didn't say she's a bad singer. What she does, she does wonderfully. It's just that her range (and I don't mean vocal range. I mean styles and genres.) is limited. She was great for Nightwish back in the day. She helped them become what they are. Olzen was a refreshing change, even if I consider her the worst of the three female vocalists, I still appreciate the new life she put into the band. It may be because I know Floor from way before Nightwish, but she is still my favorite one, though. Versatile, beautiful, wonderful voice, awesome stage presence... She has it all.

More, I consider Floor as being main responsible of their recent increasing success, due her impressive vocals and stage presence (all 3 recent videos from Beste Zangers proves I'm right). Forgot to mention. Floor is currently doing a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers. There's a group of singers that live in the villa for a while to bond and then pick covers for each other. She is apparently having a lot of fun, so there's that as well. She can sing in German and Spanish :)

Best band on the planet...definitely best singer on this planet. She only did about 10 percent of what she can do. This song is only in my top 30 songs from this group. I prefer their heavier songs. Singer is Floor Jansen not Tarja. I prefer Floor singing than previous singer Tarja.
One of the best bands ever for sure... Taste is subjective so it's hard, if even possible, to determine "the best". But I don't think anyone can dispute (with a valid argument) how skilled they are... This is a *live* performance and I, a long time NW fan, has to remind myself every time I hear this song. Tuomas is a genius, a modern day Mozart and will go down in history as such and Floor is just out of this world. Marco and Emmpu are top tier and Jukka is probably one of the most proficient drummers this world has ever seen (too bad he had to quit đ)

Hey, the singer Floor Jansen is currently participating in a TV show called Beste Zangers (Best Singers) which is a bunch of singers from a variety of backgrounds and genres singing each other's songs to each other. She's currently done 3 songs so far, one in German, one in Dutch and one in Spanish. You should react them all, they're awesome, and all with her own spin on their original genres (Opera, Folk, and Salsa) The songs are Vilja lied, Mama, and Que Se Siente.

Great Reaction! That feeling you get inside during certain parts of this song. Is called a 'Floorgasm'! There are plenty more of those in other songs that Floor Jansen sings! FYI, there was 82,000+ in the audience at that year's annual W'V'acken open air Metal Festival, in Germany. Ghost Love Score was the 13th of 15 songs that Nightwish performed that night. Like most, I'm sure you will get around to reacting many of the other 14. They were that year's (2013) headliners. Being the last of over 50+ bands that performed at the 4-day Event.
Iâm new to this symphonic metal - but been a metal fan forever - and I must admit this is a big dose of âbad-asseryâ Lol Got something new to explore now. As for the battle of opinions on who is best between Tarja and Floor - I think, as others have already attested to, that they both are absolutely amazing in their own ways. The band is blessed to have found someone of equal caliber to fill Tarjaâs shoes!
One of my favorite bands of all time. I've seen them live 23 times. It has been a ride throughout the years. Started with the early Tarja era. And here I am within the late Floorgasm era. I'm happy you found Nightwish Jamel. My opinion, Floor Jansen is the best female vocalist today. That's not taking anything away from the band. Nightwish is 1 of the best bands out there. Music has been a passion of mine for 50 years. The more Nightwish you listen to the more you will realize how great they are.

She sang with After Forever and also ReVamp, then joined this band in 2012, unofficially at first, to fill out a tour that their prior singer Anette could not finish due to illness. After the tour they announced that Floor would be staying permanently. In this video you can see why. This was months after she started filling in for the tour, so she was only just recently familiarized with the material by this time. Tarja (first singer) along with Marco, Empu and Jukka created a band that later on created a unique sound that stuck with them, a blend of Metal, Orchestra with a touch of theater and score. Marco (keyboard), Empu (guitar), Thoumas (bass guitar) and Jukka (former drummer unfortunately) are all amazing musicians hands down and I can't give them enough praise in that department. Tarja (pronounced as Tarya) Turunen as I said was the original singer who, with her operatic voice, gave the popularity and widespread acclaims due to vocals that stand out (at that time) in the metal genres and the sound the band had which I could only describe as "If Andrew Lloyd Webber had a twin who was into Metal". Such sounds later on influenced many bands like Xandria, Epica etc. Anette later on took over when Tarja left/was sacked (depends on who you stand on this situation) and the atmospehere of the band changed into something that I could describe as a mix between alice in wonderland, circus, asylum themes influenced by Tim Burton (which I also liked, took some getting used to tho). That unfortunately didn't go well with fans because they were die hard Tarja stans (and Anette's vocals were a different spectrum from Tarja) which led to extensive bullying of Anette which ultimately influenced her getting sacked after she decided to get pregnant and Marco "not having any of that" which ultimately ended up with other members voting her out. Floor Jansen (the singer in the video) was her temporary replacement who after a tour became her permanent replacement. She, similarly to Tarja has an operatic voice BUT has also a blend between that and Anette's "pop-rock" voice which (hypocritically) had great support from the Nightwish fans and harsher vocals which can be heard on her other band ReVamp. So far she has only one album with them, however that album didn't show her operatic capabilites to her fullest due to her not being particularly fond of such singing, which she noted. That one album is thematic to as something I can describe as "Theatrical Oddysey of Life on the Blue Planet and the time between the first organisms and the modern day homo-sapiens". With the great track "The Greatest Show On Earth" as the perfect summary of the album. If people who liked Nightwish wanna find similar stuff I can recomend Xandria, Epica, Within Temptation, The Dark Element (Anette's project), ReVamp (Floor's project), Tarjas solo career especially her My Winter Storm and the album after that, Sirenia, Leaves' Eyes, Exit Eden, Edenbridge, Dark Sarah, Beyond the Black, Amberian Dawn and Amaranthe.
No guarantee: Tarja Turunen (Opera) was lead-vocalist of Nightwish until about 2005. Then there was another strong female lead (Pop-Rock) until about 2012. Every single piece of this video was absolutely amazing. From the entire bands musical performance to the cinematography and shots of the cameraman, the backdrop, and the crowd participation made this performance one of the all time greatest Metal performances possibly of all time. Even the Pyro technic guy deserves awards. If this was a movie? It would earn at least 55 Oscars pretty much sweeping every type of musical category.
@Jamel_AKA_Jamal i have come across these older reactions vids of yours and love that you have discovered Nightwish in all of the incarnations. If you ever get the chance to see them live, do it you will not regret it at all. One of the best shows i've been too.
There is something about this band. The Dynamics, the changes thought the songs, the performers, Tuomas Halopanin, the keyboardist/composer, I don't know. There songs span nationalities, age, race, any divisions and bring the listeners together in love, somehow. You don't even have to speak the language or understand the words to me moved by this band. As Floor says in a pause elsewhere in the concert, " I have no words". Bravo Nightwish, bravo Floor, and bravo Tuomas! Please give us more.

Hello. from NW Army! :) Since you started this journey, here are some info that may help you navigate (a short history of the band, concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan):
Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a female fronted symphonic metal band. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. Marco Hietala is the Bassist and vocals .And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrulmentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just saw her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit live (Floor). I hope this helps.

Symphonic Metal seems to me to be an elaboration of epic doom metal ( Candlemass, Solitude Aeturnus, possibly Trouble)... with the symphonic backing and the full female operatic vocals ...I donât care much for it , finding it too lush, too feminine , and the reaction of the fans seems neurotic as heck to me , all the girls crying and mouthing the lyrics
Tarja was the best frontwoman because she is very attractive and has a very nice color to her voice .
I have to disagree there, Jay. Tarja is a good singer, but kinda limited to the opera range. Also, the jawline is a bit too pronounced for me to consider her attractive. I mean... She's a few centimeters away from the Iron Maiden mascot, if you ask me.

She was great for Nightwish back in the day. She helped them become what they are. Olzen was a refreshing change, even if I consider her the worst of the three female vocalists, I still appreciate the new life she put into the band. It may be because I know Floor from way before Nightwish, but she is still my favorite one, though. Versatile, beautiful, wonderful voice, awesome stage presence... She has it all.

Forgot to mention. Floor is currently doing a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers. There's a group of singers that live in the villa for a while to bond and then pick covers for each other. She is apparently having a lot of fun, so there's that as well. She can sing in German and Spanish :)

Best band on the planet...definitely best singer on this planet. She only did about 10 percent of what she can do. This song is only in my top 30 songs from this group. I prefer their heavier songs. Singer is Floor Jansen not Tarja. I prefer Floor singing than previous singer Tarja.
One of the best bands ever for sure... Taste is subjective so it's hard, if even possible, to determine "the best".
But I don't think anyone can dispute (with a valid argument) how skilled they are... This is a *live* performance and I, a long time NW fan, has to remind myself every time I hear this song.
Tuomas is a genius, a modern day Mozart and will go down in history as such and Floor is just out of this world. Marco and Emmpu are top tier and Jukka is probably one of the most proficient drummers this world has ever seen (too bad he had to quit đ)

Hey, the singer Floor Jansen is currently participating in a TV show called Beste Zangers (Best Singers) which is a bunch of singers from a variety of backgrounds and genres singing each other's songs to each other. She's currently done 3 songs so far, one in German, one in Dutch and one in Spanish. You should react them all, they're awesome, and all with her own spin on their original genres (Opera, Folk, and Salsa) The songs are Vilja lied, Mama, and Que Se Siente.

Great Reaction! That feeling you get inside during certain parts of this song. Is called a 'Floorgasm'! There are plenty more of those in other songs that Floor Jansen sings! FYI, there was 82,000+ in the audience at that year's annual W'V'acken open air Metal Festival, in Germany. Ghost Love Score was the 13th of 15 songs that Nightwish performed that night. Like most, I'm sure you will get around to reacting many of the other 14. They were that year's (2013) headliners. Being the last of over 50+ bands that performed at the 4-day Event.
Iâm new to this symphonic metal - but been a metal fan forever - and I must admit this is a big dose of âbad-asseryâ Lol Got something new to explore now. As for the battle of opinions on who is best between Tarja and Floor - I think, as others have already attested to, that they both are absolutely amazing in their own ways. The band is blessed to have found someone of equal caliber to fill Tarjaâs shoes!
One of my favorite bands of all time. I've seen them live 23 times. It has been a ride throughout the years. Started with the early Tarja era. And here I am within the late Floorgasm era. Floor is so fantastic live. Brings so much energy and power to It. This Is Floor Jansen. You should check out Bless The Child by Nightwish. Tarja Turunen's version.

I'm happy you found Nightwish Jamel. My opinion, Floor Jansen is the best female vocalist today. That's not taking anything away from the band. Nightwish is 1 of the best bands out there. Music has been a passion of mine for 50 years. The more Nightwish you listen to the more you will realize how great they are.

This is the current singer, Floor Jansen. She sang with After Forever and also ReVamp, then joined this band in 2012, unofficially at first, to fill out a tour that their prior singer Anette could not finish due to illness. After the tour they announced that Floor would be staying permanently. In this video you can see why. This was months after she started filling in for the tour, so she was only just recently familiarized with the material by this time.
Tarja Turunen was their first singer, who is also quite amazing in her own way.

Radio airplay is still vital to success in the US, and US record labels pay heavily to keep their artists on the air. It's almost impossible for an independent or foreign artist to compete and break in.
Been a fan of nightwish a looong time. When this came out i just sat and listened. In awe. Tears in my eyes. This performance still does that to me to this day.

Tarja (first singer) along with Marco, Empu and Jukka created a band that later on created a unique sound that stuck with them, a blend of Metal, Orchestra with a touch of theater and score.
Marco (keyboard), Empu (guitar), Thoumas (bass guitar) and Jukka (former drummer unfortunately) are all amazing musicians hands down and I can't give them enough praise in that department.
Tarja (pronounced as Tarya) Turunen as I said was the original singer who, with her operatic voice, gave the popularity and widespread acclaims due to vocals that stand out (at that time) in the metal genres and the sound the band had which I could only describe as "If Andrew Lloyd Webber had a twin who was into Metal". Such sounds later on influenced many bands like Xandria, Epica etc.
Anette later on took over when Tarja left/was sacked (depends on who you stand on this situation) and the atmospehere of the band changed into something that I could describe as a mix between alice in wonderland, circus, asylum themes influenced by Tim Burton (which I also liked, took some getting used to tho). That unfortunately didn't go well with fans because they were die hard Tarja stans (and Anette's vocals were a different spectrum from Tarja) which led to extensive bullying of Anette which ultimately influenced her getting sacked after she decided to get pregnant and Marco "not having any of that" which ultimately ended up with other members voting her out.
Floor Jansen (the singer in the video) was her temporary replacement who after a tour became her permanent replacement. She, similarly to Tarja has an operatic voice BUT has also a blend between that and Anette's "pop-rock" voice which (hypocritically) had great support from the Nightwish fans and harsher vocals which can be heard on her other band ReVamp. So far she has only one album with them, however that album didn't show her operatic capabilites to her fullest due to her not being particularly fond of such singing, which she noted. That one album is thematic to as something I can describe as "Theatrical Oddysey of Life on the Blue Planet and the time between the first organisms and the modern day homo-sapiens". With the great track "The Greatest Show On Earth" as the perfect summary of the album.
If people who liked Nightwish wanna find similar stuff I can recomend Xandria, Epica, Within Temptation, The Dark Element (Anette's project), ReVamp (Floor's project), Tarjas solo career especially her My Winter Storm and the album after that, Sirenia, Leaves' Eyes, Exit Eden, Edenbridge, Dark Sarah, Beyond the Black, Amberian Dawn and Amaranthe.
Now you've done it... Floor is one of the best singers in the whole damn world... Nightwish one of the best live bands ever...
No guarantee: Tarja Turunen (Opera) was lead-vocalist of Nightwish until about 2005. Then there was another strong female lead (Pop-Rock) until about 2012.

Nightwish has had 3 singers, 1996-2005 Tarja Turunen, 2007-2012 Anette Olson, 2012-to present Floor Jansen. This is Floor, who joined Nightwish in the middle of their 2012 US tour with 48 hours notice, after Anette was fired.

Every single piece of this video was absolutely amazing. From the entire bands musical performance to the cinematography and shots of the cameraman, the backdrop, and the crowd participation made this performance one of the all time greatest Metal performances possibly of all time. Even the Pyro technic guy deserves awards. If this was a movie? It would earn at least 55 Oscars pretty much sweeping every type of musical category.

There is something about this band. The Dynamics, the changes thought the songs, the performers, Tuomas Halopanin, the keyboardist/composer, I don't know. There songs span nationalities, age, race, any divisions and bring the listeners together in love, somehow. You don't even have to speak the language or understand the words to me moved by this band. As Floor says in a pause elsewhere in the concert, " I have no words". Bravo Nightwish, bravo Floor, and bravo Tuomas! Please give us more.
