The answer is Red Sox fan because Boston fans have absolutely no reason to be bitter considering they have won more championships than any other city since the year 2000.
They will because it’s Boston lol. Crash will be epic but their well run team so should be good enough to do it in the playoffs.
Real Yankee/Sox fans understand that it’s a long season… both teams are always competitive after the all star break near playoff push. looking forward to watching that as a baseball fan

About the same - as a Yankees fan though, I dislike it when someone says after a loss "Well we have 27 rings..." at least 20 of them were won when only three or four teams realistically had any chance to win and the amateur draft had yet to be established

I’ve been a Yankee fan since I picked up a baseball 25 years ago. When we lost in ‘04, I got a Boston hat signed by Trot Nixon the night they won it all, to humble myself. Anything can happen, even when the odds are stacked against you or for you.

Wow, don't watch the junior circuit much - didn't know Judge has played 60 games almost as good as Barry Bonds played from 1992-2004. i.e. 202 OPS+ to 205. Congratulations, Rich.

Poor Seattle in 2001 didn’t even make it to the World Series. I think they’re the only Major League team not to have a WS appearance.
They are. The Nationals were the only other team who hadn’t gone, but that obviously ended in 2019.
Wish the Rays were healthy. Not only are they not 100%, they're basically at 50%. Would have made for a much more compelling series against the Yankees.

Cowboys had 1 dynasty 30 years ago. Yankees have had dynasty after dynasty for a century. And at least the Yankees have won this century 🤷♂️. Yankees fans have wayyyy more room to talk than Cowboys fans do.

I remember the Red Sox fanbase becoming pretty insufferable after they broke their long World Series championship drought in 2004, but as a Colorado Rockies fan who got to see “Roctktober” crash and burn in Fenway Park, I think I’d still rather see more Red Sox championships than another Yankees one.

I have to say my ideal MLB postseason would be one where they both miss the playoffs. One of them always makes it in though.
What the Red Sox have done to be above 500 and be competitive for a wild-card spot at this time is truly impressive with the injuries to Sale,Whitlock, Eovaldi, Kike , etc. The Yankees have been relatively injury-free for most of the season.
Gloating is never noble. It's not how you start, it's how you finish. The Yankees track record of finishing has been abysmal for over a decade.

The funnier thing than all this (well, at least for we Yankees fans) is that the Res Sox in their attempt to climb 6 games over five hundred (winning percentage- i.e. even) are losing in the 8th inning 10 to 2 at Fenway (to the cardinals, a decent team but still)!
All I know is in baseball history you can't compare any other franchise to my Yankees period. That's all that matters.

Lifelong Red Sox fan and how can there be any bitterness after coming back down three to beat the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS? For me it was so much sweeter than winning the world series. My dad is a Yankees fan and he took every opportunity to make me regret being a Sox fan. After 2004 winning 3 more World Series exceeded every hope and dream I ever had. When I fell asleep during game 4 of ALCS it looked like the Yankees were going to sweep. Finding out the Sox were able comeback and win I was so surprised and every moment of the last 3 games against the Yankees was something I ever thought would happen. Yankees fans have a lot to proud of and brag about but they got nothing to say that would bother me in the least. After 75 WS vs Reds, Effn Bucky Dent in 79, Buckner in 84 not mention all the almosts, the should haves and didn't get it dones beginning in 73 when I began liking and watching baseball. Growing up in Mass I felt like I would not live to see the Sox win a WS. Well it's 4 and counting. I am content and not the least bitter or jealous.

Any bitter Sox fan wasn't a die hard Sox fan growing up in the 70's experiencing all the upsets and heartbreaks before coming back down 3 vs Yankees in 04 ALCS. If you started liking and watching baseball and the Sox had already won the 04 WS the bitterness doesn't surprise me but anyone above age 30 that's bitter it's likely that they're bitter for other reasons too..
My solutions to make MLB baseball interesting…20 sec pitch clock, automate balls/strikes, unlimited substitution, and unlimited DHs (who, akin with pitchers are not true baseball players).

Both are insufferable and should not exist. I'm a happy respectful Yankees fan whose second favorite team is the Red Sox. I learned this from my father and have loved being this way all of my life. You should try it - not just because the other ways are stupid, but because this way is the most fun - every day.
Yankee success means very little to me, that team runs the league. Obviously there are some real cool Yankee fans but as a whole they're atrocious and I can't talk baseball with them.
