    I definitely think speed is overlooked by a lot of people in any type of corner. I was teaching some tricks on dirt bikes and they were doing the super nervous 1st gear idle turn around. I told them to add a little throttle and speed and they were far more comfortable on the bike by the end of the day.

    Holy long awaited! Extra Bonus: don't micro-manage the ruts. Just being sure the front wheel is lined up should be enough. You want to keep it moving in one fell swoop and if you are all tensed up, you'll make unnecessary adjustments and lose your balance.

    Let me get this straight.. 1. sit in the center, stand up, and put my leg back with my elbow down. 2. hold my clutch in the middle of the rut. 3. Look down or close my eyes the entire time 4. Go super fast 5. Slam my front break at full speed. Bonus. Enter the rut as crooked (that’s what’s she said)...... got it! I’m going to smoke everyone next weekend. Thanks man! 🙌

    Great video, but I have a question about step #1. Regarding the seating position, you tell us to NOT be neutral, but I don't think you tell us where we SHOULD be seated. I assume its far forward.

    Another thing is seat position to flat on the seat not on the edge like you do when there is flat corners and inline with pegs

    Motocross guys corner so much better then woods guys.. we have different techniques for weaving in and out of trees, rarely do you get a good motocross style corner in the woods. We do a lot of rear break tapping to move the rear side to side to cut around trees etc.

    • @JoshStreetDesign
      @JoshStreetDesign Před 2 lety

      that's exactly right...I'm so used to threading the needle between super tight trees, that when I get to a wide open sand track with big berms I'm just all over the place, over braking, front end diving, oh man it's a hot mess. It's like I have to totally relearn how to ride the bike.

    • @kevinpilling3641
      @kevinpilling3641 Před 2 lety

      If your front wheel comes out of the Rut 9 times out of 10 you’re fucked and you have to stand the bike up or you’ll just crash and look silly, I’d recommend to try to keep the front wheel right at the bottom of the rut, think of it as if you don’t want the front wheel to touch the wall of the Rut, you want to keep it just before that, and if you’re going fast enough it’s gonna put your wheel right on the spot it needs to be and you’re gonna be on rails, like most things in motocross it’s gonna be scary but you gotta send it lol

      @@RideWithTheWolf at that point try to get to them as straight as possible and don’t fight the bike, let it do it’s own thing and maintain your balance through it, I would lean a little bit further behind too
