  • Keeping Hot Lunches Warm
Using thermoses for packing lunches for your kids and yourself opens up so many more possibilities.
To keep the food hot as long as possible, pour some boiling water into the thermos, cover it and let it stand while you are reheating or making the food.
Then pour out the water and fill the thermos with anything you like to eat warm - soup, pasta, chicken, meatballs, rice, potatoes and more. It’s a great way to pack leftovers too:).
Warming up the thermos first with boiling water will make your food stay hot for hours.

How long does the soup stay warm? I leave my soup in the car for 6 hours in below 10 C temps and it’s almost room temp by the time I get to it. Will try this one this week. Thanks!

When I would heat it up in the morning, around 7 am it would still be steaming hot by 12. The important thing is to heat up the thermos with boiling water first while you are reheating the soup and the soup needs to be steaming, almost boiling and to heat up the thermos with boiling. Also, the thermos that you use matters too. I've used some thermoses that don't keep things hot very long at all. Hope that helps!

If you want to reheat the soup in the microwave, put it in a microwave safe bowl and heat up until warm, then transfer to the thermos.
