I feel like this was exactly what we all needed to hear. Joel is tough but he is also sensitive because he's human. I said it before, you both need to take a week off and rest!
I feel like this is one of those special vlogs youll remember years after the house is built. A time where its been hard and you've felt vulnerable but you've been brave to share your feelings and feel them. It's so special to watch your family put their heart and soul in a project like this. I love that you’re sharing this! I grew up in the LDS church, but left when I was younger. I still pray periodically and had a similar experience the last two weeks. This is a great lesson for those kids to learn! The answer isn’t always the answer you’re expecting.
I prayed about my situation and felt peace so I thought I would get the answer I was expecting/wanting. ha! No, complete opposite and I was very upset! BUT it’s been interesting watching everything play out over the last 2 weeks and I know whose hands have had part in it 😉🙂 I’m 30 and learning this (again) so it’s great for your kids to be taught this from a young age and multiple times!!! ❤it’s a hard lesson!

God is so good, Joel I’m glad that you could find your water leaks.. My husband is a plumber and the jobs he has done you wouldn’t believe how stressful they can be! I pray for him daily! He says you may have an idea what the problem could be and when you get their to find out it’s much bigger and those are stressful.. But he’s patient with his customers and they truly love him. As much as i want to build a house and have a house at the age of 28 right now. I absolutely don’t want to have that responsibility right now. I can’t imagine how Joel , all of you really , will feel when the house is complete and you’re all settled into your new home and resting knowing you all built it yourself. I’ve been praying a lot lately as I figure out if I need to stay where I am or move out of state to be closer to my family in Salt Lake City it’s a big decision to make I’ve felt all the emotions lately witch is hard. Thank you to you and Joel for being vulnerable and open and sharing your feelings and thoughts with us.
I love this blog so much! Thank you so much for sharing that tender experience and story and being so raw and candid with us! I feel like I needed that little message as well I’m trusting Gods plan and how He answers our prayers and concerns. I just got home from my mission 4 months ago and 2 months ago I just moved here to Utah and just started working at the MTC while staying with some family friends. Things haven’t gone expected but I’ve been praying about to go and live etc and finding support and recently (as in this week) I think he’s leading me to move back across country to live with my sister and brother in law back in Arkansas which I never expected and it would be the 4th time this year I’d be moving! My family aren’t members which is a scary move to make but I have been learning that God answers in unique ways and personal revelation comes in many different forms! Sending love! ❤
I’m sorry you guys have had a tough week. Joel you have taken on a massive job but you are doing amazing. Mistakes happen even for professionals so for the average person to only have a couple minor things is incredible. Take a little break to gather yourself and keep going, the tough parts are almost done and then you can finally see the little bits coming together in your home it will be worth all the tough times. I’m not religious but I will pray for things to go smoothly for Joel

God answers prayers in mysterious ways… Sometimes we need to pray Heavenly Father, don’t move that mountain, give me strength to climb it. In climbing the mountain instead of Heavenly Father moving the mountain we grow stronger in our faith and create a deeper relationship with Him. Prayer works folks, it’s not a magic pill that fixes everything immediately, we don’t always get the answer we were hoping for, but in the end if we remember God has a plan, everything will be OK
