This is terrific information! Thank you so much from Australia. I will pray for you and your family! God bless you.
Had one of these about 10 years, still going strong. Great purchase.
Extra tip, you can use to hold up your head plate for stud walls as well. 👌
Ohh that's a good tip - cheers pal. Hope you're well my friend!
Best bit of kit I ever bought.!
We bought one in France after struggling to board a sloping ceiling. We've done several ceilings since very easily and i can do it alone with part boards as i find full boards a bit heavy on my own. I also used it to fit narrow boards (300mm) between joists. It needed a small mod by screwing blocks onto the arms to lift the boards about 120mm above the arms so they lifted flush to the ceiling between the joists.
Changed the game for me in 98 bud..been using one ever since.
Glad to see ya jumped on the bandwagon...
Work smarter not harder
👍
Legend! Fair play mate - I think they are mint...even if I am late to the party ha! Thanks for watching pal. All the best to you
I got one of these about 3 years ago, it's saved me thousands in labour.
Had 1 since 2020 a must for boarding
Great bit of kit Blaine, not a bad price either, handy for doing big ceilings as using a prop can sometimes be awkward
Agreed mate. I was surprised how cheap they were to be honest!
Very good lift I'm using one like this very easy to lift up plasterboard and hold up
Great tool honest yes game changer for sure
Used one of these recently on a ceiling in an old farmhouse...the ceiling was just over 10ft 6 high and we ended up reboarding between the beams.totally agree it's a game changer..we hired one for a week for about £60...only problem I had was I tripped over one of the legs and had a massive bruise on my knee 😂
Thank you for your expertise and time 5:26
Got one and it’s amazing! I find that the reel bar likes to bend sometimes tho. And when ya pull the release lever, keep another hand on the wheel otherwise it might bonk ya, learned that the hard way xP do you ever use a T square for cutting the board?
Yes they are brilliant, i have one, just need to have a clear floor, i think i paid about £90 a few years ago, so they've gone up a bit but still worth it,
That's a great indicator of the rate of inflation at the moment ha!
Sometimes the little bar that reel slides out on bends just screw 2 bits of 2x1 to eachother threw the slot just to strengthen it up..
Picked the same one up on amazon for £119!
I've had one since 2014 just keep a check on the nuts and bolts they do work loose. I wouldn't be without my one
Thanks for the heads up. Cheers matey!
What if you want to install your plaster board vertically instead of horizontal on a inclined ceiling is it possible? Thanks mate😊👍
I bought one for £60 second hand, from a couple that done a self build in lockdown, pukka if the joist run out, saves holding it up to mark
I've been learning the trade for almost a year now, picking up bits of knowledge from as many different plasterers as I can. One told me to leave a gap of like 5mm between the board and the wall just incase the room isn't completely square, so that your boards all perfectly align. In your professional opinion Is this good advice??
creo que es bueno empezar con el cielo luego dejar al final las paredes ,pero esas maquinas son muy util ,evitas lesiones generalmente de lumbago
How simple is it to break down after a job and pack up in the van?
I need to build a pergola. I bought 4 x 4 pergola kit from Amazon. Now, I have to lift 12 ft long 4 x 4 all alone. Could you please tell me if this can do the job? Appreciate it in advance
Had one of these a few years now. Everyone takes the P*ss out of me using it but saves me a lot of messing about I find. Especially working on my own
We’ve just overboarded every ceiling bar 1 in my lads house and it was a very useful piece of kit…. He’ll sell it on I guess so the cost against hiring is a no brainier. Why struggle !
Exactly that mate. I've struggled enough in the past
Great for big areas , if you’ve got a clear floor
Absolutely!!
That’s gotta b easier than trying to pull deadmen prop under the board with one hand whilst trying to balance the board with the other hand to b honest if ur on ur own doing lids I always go for 6 by 3 boards just much more manageable
👍🏿👍🏿 Blaine it got you in the corner 😂😂 but come out fighting 🥊🥊🥊🥊
hahah that's the one matey 🤣
I bought a yellow one last summer for 4m meter ceiling. The cable snapped on the 2nd board...... gutted, cos it would have been great
Christ that sounds awful - sorry to hear that. I would have asked for a refund!
The problem in the clip was the clips on the board lifter! You had loaded the board on, laid it back and raised it to the ceiling without pulling the load clips back!
Wish I hired one of these. Those pink fibreboards are heavy as hell especially when your a 5'5 short arse😂
Definitely mate. They are heavy as. And I feel for you - I'm a short arse too so I know the pain 🤣
I can't see the link where you bought it from!
It's there now pal!
I got one 7 years ago to re board ceilings in my house.. it was £99, the cost of renting one for a week was the same, you do the math…
I feel it's a no brainer ha!
Oh yes, that makes a lot of sense if you do board-orientated work anything more than occasionally...
Unless you get paid by the hour!
Ha exactly. I'm on price so it's needed !
Have you located the stem to the base correctly.
Yeah - it was in nicely pal.
How long does it take to assemble?
How long does it take to disassemble?
Is it easy to disassemble?
The one I hired took two mins to assemble and disassemble...absolute piece of cake..
Fits in the back of a car too
I pinched the fuck out of my hand packing up the same brand sheet lifter 😅
That's 2 guys out of work !
I struggle to find 2 decent guys who want work near me!
@@PlasteringForBeginners have you tried using deodorant 😁
Gimmee a four foot tressle and a studded helmet any day - OK for DIYers though 😎
🙄🙄
Only £136 today, Black Friday deal.
100mm club that son
Ok on your own but time consuming I would emagine
Think how slow this is would wind me up. Unless you physically can't lift a board above your head I can't see how this is better than a couple T props made from 2x4's.
Though I guess this thing would be better for really high ceilings.
I just don't like using props on my own. it kills me ha! But I rarely do plaster boarding so it's probably my lack of technique ha.
Looks very cumbersome, and then there's the extra labour in dismantling it to remove it from the customers house without scuffing their anaglypta 😂. Then you have to store the thing when not using it! Its an awful bit of junk, suited for DIY'ers at best.May come in usefull on a large site. But in an occupied house! I don't think so. Oh and hope you corrected your mistake at 5.20 😂. Missed a trick there, you could of done a video on how to patch up PB when no joists are available to fix to 😊
What a waste of time been boarding for 50 years use a couple of nails in the right spots and it’s up . But I am not telling you how.
Back and neck breaking, I bet a $ your body took a beating!
Oh, Shut up boomer. No one carr of your crap method
