    The US president has just spent the last week attempting to ferment anti Unionist feeling in Northern Ireland which btw has a majority firmly in favour of remaining part of the UK.

    Texas already has a proper military that includes a Navy, ground Forces, and Air Forces. You'd be surprised on how many Texans would actually join in the Texan Military and not on the U.S. side. Texas would be able to secede peacefully and not in a civil war. Even if this "2nd Civil War" happened, still you'd be surprised on how many Texans (not including Americans who clam to help Texas) would join in the Texan military! As a Texan, I have a predicament; that this state will gain independence from the U.S. with the use of leverage on oil reserves and many more things that Texas has an advantage with against the U.S. using a thing called TEXIT, a movement within Texas that wants independence to be a great nation again. I'd bet everything I got just to predict a thing, that's how serious I am. Btw, No part of the U.S. Constitution says that states that states Cannot leave, plus over 30% of Texan voters (not including any likely voters) would vote to leave. It's not illegal for states to leave the United States. The fact that there are about 11 states that have movements within them suggest that its possible for a state to vote on seceding. I'm a TEXIT supporter and doesn't care if someone calls me a "non-American" which I already consider myself so. I will ONLY, ONLY consider myself Texan and no matter how much you try to say otherwise, it will not work. By the way, I will ONLY fight for my home state, not the United States, not Russia, not France, nor any other place besides my home state. Hope ya'll have a good day!

      @muffaletta Do you remember the last time states decided to secede? That's right, a civil war. Illegal actions justify law and it is NOT legal for a state to secede. Texas will not secede, if they stopped paying taxes...the US military would intervene. LEGAL matters at this point genius, since that's what Abbot is USING to justify closing the border. You don't know what you're talking about. If he was doing ILLEGAL actions no other state would have supported it. It is ILLEGAL to do what Biden is doing. • @Del2921
    @Del2921 Před rokem

    First of all, this is not philosophically, logistically or politically credible. It is hallucinogenic. But let's explore the issue as if it wasn't pure lunacy.
    I live in New Mexico, so the issue must surface formally at the Roundhouse, the state legislature in Santa Fe. Some idiot (and the state legislature is crammed full of idiots) stands up and demands that New Mexico declare its independence from the rest of the United States…and, rather than having the fool hauled off for random urinalysis and a full psyche evaluation, the legislators stand and up and, slack jawed and with vacant stares, endorse the proposal uniformly and pass it up for the Governor's signature who signs it in what she will claim later was a fit of temporary insanity. What next?
    The duly authorized New Mexico Declaration of Independence is sent to the White House with a copy to the Speaker of the House. Some things are likely to occur:
    a) The President & Speaker of the House roll on the floor, laughing hysterically, and come to the conclusion that this is a well orchestrated practical joke.
    b) The President & senior Congressional leaders take the action seriously. Immediately actions are taken to include:
    1. Closure of all interstate highways and roads between NM and other states. Posting Federal officials at all, repeat, ALL, such “border crossings" denying access to the rest of America to anyone trying to enter America using a NM drivers license…confiscating US passports offered by anyone using one in addition to their NM drivers license. Establishment of toll roads and a visa system to enter the US to be created shortly. Air services to be shut down for planes flying out of or coming into NM.
    2. Federal services, to include postal services, shut down. Think about that. Federal government civilians who do not choose to immediately accept alternate employment outside NM immediately terminated.
    3. Military bases and major contract facilities servicing military efforts closed pending a decision on how to reassign contracts, missions, resources, etc.
    4. Welfare and other Federal funding for NM immediately suspended pending executive review. Federal funding suspended pending further review. No Federal money flowing into NM banks. Is it fun yet, Santa Fe?
    5. Santa Fe formally notified that Federal properties will remain Federal properties until/unless a negotiated agreement is reached to surrender control to the new nation of New Mexico, Fantasia, Mordor or whatever else they choose to call themselves. Any arbitrary New Mexico action to take control of Federal facilities WILL be treated as an act of war with FULL military response. (Note! This is NOT a bluff! There MAY be weapons and technologies on Federal facilities that DC will NOT permit to remain in NM hands!)
    6. If Federal armed intervention is deemed necessary, the current government of NM will be overthrown, its state “Constitution” revoked, the state occupied by the military, a military governor installed, it's status returned to “territory” status pending a zero based review of laws and overall reconstruction and approval of a new state charter.
