THE MARVELOUS MARVELETTES
Written by Reginald Williams
Directed by Rueben Echoles
Running through September 7, 2014
Many people think that the most famous girl group to come out of Motown was The Supremes, but history says differently. It was five young teenagers from Inkster, Michigan who helped to propel Motown into national stardom and gave them their first "million-seller." The name of this dynamic group was The Marvelettes and their voices helped launch the company to prominence. Their name might not be as familiar as some of the other Motown legends, but the songs they made famous like "Don't Mess with Bill," "Hunter Gets Captured by the Game," "My Baby Must be a Magician," "Beechwood 45789," and "Please Mr. Postman" will guarantee their place in our musical memories forever. We're going to take you back to a dynamic era in history where the voices were more than just supreme -- they were absolutely marvelous. - Hudba
😲 they are soo talented! My gosh!
Grew up with this music best music back then bring back ❤😊again
Those dresses are classic and will never go out of style.
You go girl she captures the swagger of that era
Yes she does,
Love this...sang along when I was in first or 2nd grade.
I have been crazy about these women for decades. And absolutely Love there music.
This was awesome! I don't get why people hate this!
She opened her mouth too wide.
I think they thought they were the real ones but the real ones were dead but some are alive
I have met the Marvelettes. I have Kat's phone number in my phone right now. These are not the Marvelettes. They don't look or sound like the Marvelettes even when they were young.
Because their not the real MARVELETTES
i just love it this song and show by those girls
Wow, wow,je vous aimes, BRAVO,,
I love this!! I like the modern twist on it, it shows how this music influence today's RB artists.
Screw the 49 people who hate this. This the best thing ever.
This is perfect. This literally sounds like it was sang in the 60s but super enhanced considering we have better audio now.
Love this doing and those girls who performed this killed it
god bless❤️
Love it.
What a voice!
Wonderful !!!! Hoping this turns into a true traveling show, or better yet--MOVIE--.
Maravillosa solo la había escuchado de Carpenters..ellas únicas❤
There is no other place to be! Wonderful
Phenomenon
I remember this when it was a new song on AM radio. This has always been great, and the world knew it.
Motowns 1st #1 Hit..
this is a reenactment performances
Y’all, this is from a play. This is literally the channel of a theater company. They’re not claiming to be the original Marvelettes, chill!!
Please post more of this
Maravilhosas.
Lindas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG, these ladies really sang the song! I am so sorry they were taken advantage of by the record label!
NGL this is a beautiful song from the ‘60s
My people wow:-)

What!!!!! you gotta be kidding, noooo way.
wait ah yeah wait a minute Mr postman yeeehehaa
Wow. 2020
Precious... Who is she!? 😍
dancing this son g for a program at school
I would be hell covering that
She's incorporating today's style of singing (ala Beyonce) which is riffing or vibrato on every note into an early 1960's song. If this was a remake or a tribute to the Marvelettes that's different. This isn't to say that some singers didn't use a little too much vibrato back then but since they're supposed to be"The Marvelletes, then sing the song right! She has a fantastic voice but don't "riff" on almost every other word.
Can anybody send the link to the real song? I've been trying to find it
marvelettes - mr postman thats the original song ;)
Here you go: czcams.com/video/425GpjTSlS4/video.html
These girls emulated talent and had the voices of singers. Not what you hear now. Back then you had to know how to sing. They performed like "proper ladies" in comparison to what you see now.
The lead singer is FLAT!!! 👑
Not Gladys Horton
Who are these people?
🆒❤️👍💙🌷😎👍🥰💋❤️
This song was Motown's first #1 hit, and Marvin Gaye played drums on it. It had a lot of soul, and a funky beat. And, the Marvelettes acted like proud ladies. Sorry, but this cover sounds limp, and the girls look like clowns overperforming. :(
I'm pretty sure this is from Motown the Musical.. so no these aren't the real Wonderettes but the Musical version
@@giogiolover You mean Marvelettes
Hi b
The last time I saw this much wiggle was my order of squid sushi. 😊😊😊
I don’t remember this as being an original.
This is the closes I could find to the original, surprising how I
Could find many Beatles version but none from the girls
Rip off in the 50 and 60s music industry of blacks.
...far from the Beatles ripping off black music, they did the reverse. By recording it fairly true to the originals they re-presented it to white youth in the USA and popularized black music in a larger audience, which in turn led to the welcome growth of Tamla Motown. I'm not sure that you appreciate how popular black music was in the huge seaport of Liverpool during the 1960's, to accuse the Beatles of being rip-off merchants.
often
The real thing: czcams.com/video/425GpjTSlS4/video.html The Beatles doing their real thing: czcams.com/video/0sa-ju3xGLw/video.html
This aren’t the real people I think but even if it’s not it’s good
WTF can't people understand the differents between Original and Musical
erk... "(- . -)"
*THIS IS JAM* are those the originals?
MaknaeMimi no it's just a musical
When this song came out it was only three marvelettes not 5. Plus the lead sounded horrible
I think there were four that recorded it. Georgia, who rewrote the song, had left by the time it was recorded, if I'm not mistaken. I think the lead singer was just 15 when she first got the group together. Regardless, they were awesome!
@@abc-wv4in Gladys Horton
O
Die Carpenters haben das schöner gesunngen
Expect now it’s ‘postie’ or ‘post person’ to be PC.
TF lost (and I'm being nice).
This was a very poor imitation of the Marvelettes. The singer did not even sound like either Gladys Horton or Wanda Young.
right she didn’t do to me neither
Search: Rosa parks high school Mr Postman.. much better rendition☆☆☆☆☆☆☆!!!
I dont mean to be petty(Not!)But her Mannerisms or more like Diana Ross and the little Stop gesture Gladys Never Used neither did Martha which she sound more like and And not Martha's controlled yell either. Wrong gesture ending Please Mr Postman with a ✋Stop! in the of Love Gesture! The Marvelettes Never ended any of their songs with a Stop gesture. Only the Supremes and Diana Ross who usually has her arms over her head out stretched.
this is musical so it’s okay that they sung it’s just bad cuz the lead singer did bad
There isn't ONE member of The Marvelettes on that stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is a travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wanda and Kathryn are the only surviving members of the original group and Wanda no longer performs. Kathryn does have a group that she travels with as The Marvelettes; however, these girls are not it!
kurtsupreme This a performance from a play.
@@ChakaLaBelle Oh, Thank God! I was all ready to have a heart attack!
Wanda passed away after your comment was posted
@@NOV123 Yes, sadly.
Gss Gss first of all they are not all dead do your research I understand this is a play but Its very disrespectful to sing another artist song
Fake Marvelettes and horrible
So sad how these people can steal the artist songs they should be ashamed
Crazy To Fly it's a musical
@@melodymariewager lol
What a crappy circus
What rubbish!
Knock off of the originals. Pretty dissapointing
🐂💩
