I bought my speed bag because of you! Just discovered Speedbag Skunk. Got most of the basics besides the elbows and reverse punches but I’ve read through the comments and I’m sure with the tips there and the demonstration here I will be on top of it in no time. No plan of fighting in any ring, just another frustrated drummer looking to get in a good workout. God bless you Mr Khan.

What would you recommend to buy to replace my current speed bag platform, it was just a cheap Heavy bag Speed bag combo by Everlast. Didn’t last very long before the particle board gave up the ghost. The rigs you and everyone else uses looks so firm and steady, this Everlast wiggled so much that most of the inertia in the bag gets lost making it hard to do much more than quick wrist rolls or the standard boxer routine. If I start trying to do any Fancy Bagging the whole platform wobbles. I’ve also never invested in new swivels or bags. I don’t care much about the costs because these past few months on the Everlast let me know that this is a hobby I will maintain for a lifetime. Thanks in advance for any recommendations you have!

Today for the first time I did a workout listening to a classic Rush album and found myself hitting through almost the entire album. Keeping time to Neil Peart was definitely a challenge but made for a helluva workout. Thanks for the inspiration .
This is life changing for me, as was the speed bag i got 3 or 4 days ago. I use it whenever I see it and its addicting. This gives me a lot more to look forward to in the future. Thank you so much

"..sounds like a perfect addition drum team" And that's exactly how it is supposed to sound. That is why I say that Speed bag punching is an awesome rhythmic expression. It puts you IN the band as a "Punch Drummer".

Better to suggest how long it would take someone now, with focused practice and decent understanding of how the bag works. I would think someone could be very proficient from all around in 6-8 weeks. Ive learn a lot from just doing my own thing and watching one of your vids one day then boom addicted. Need new set up because mine is terrible its helped my mental health soooooo much thank you and keep up the good work

About Reverse Punching I would suggest you practice 3 - 5 Reverse Single Punches with the left, then the right, several times. Lean and step slightly to the side of the arm that is punching to create a better angle for the fist motion and get your face out of the way of the rebound. Reverse Fist Rolling is a pretty difficult technique and I suggest you try and learn Reverse Single and Reverse Double punching first.

Absolutely brilliant, a friend of mine is teaching me these combo's, only knew the basics but now looking forward to learning these new combo's. You should put a microphone onto the board and get yourself on Britain's got talent.
Thanks very much. Back in the day a few years ago I was invited to be "an alternate" on America's Got Talent "AGT", meaning if a select act did not appear for any reason I would take their place. I did that for two years and another Bagger did that a year after me, but we never got "got the call" as selected acts showed up on their day of taping. Just another chapter in my book of "Almost Famous" lol.
There are hundreds of different combinations with various numbers of punches and elbow strkikes involved. It would be impossible to detail them all here. And how their sounds are used with music is really up to YOU to improvise and mix with music. Listen to the "beat" of your punching and do it to music. Start simple, using the Basic Rhythm- then mix in other combinations.
Must have been the lousy haircut and brown shirt. Looking like Hitler is a curse that has made me want to shave my moustache, but it is the source of my power over the bag. I know what happened to Samson when they cut is hair, so I am hesitant to shave it.
