That's interesting. This book basically spoils the twist of Zhongli's sidequest. Also, the fact that the fate of Havria is discussed in a bestselling book means that it's pretty much common knowledge, or at least easily obtainable information. So the devotee from the quest probably heard about it, but was in denial, until she saw the aftermath of Havria's murder with her own eyes. Mihoyo had given a lot of material for lore scholars to dig into. Which reminds me - I gotta check if there are any new books in the bookstore in Liyue harbor added in 1.4.
Yeah, I was surprised too that the fate of the Salt God was common knowledge. It's still weird that the disciple from Zhongli's quest had no idea about it, must be a small hole in the lore continuity, perhaps this book was written before they designed the quest, or the NPC really never read the book.
@@AmadeusNarrates I actually wouldn't be surprised if she had read the book but dismissed the information as heresy. In the quest she was shown to be almost fanatically devoted to Havria, so much that even tangible evidence before her very eyes could barely shake her faith. I've had run-wins with religious fundamentalists and ideologues of various kinds online in the past, and I can tell that this is actually quite realistic. It takes more than a book to shake a deeply held belief.
*The book actually is necessary to decode "Strange Notebook" (can be interacted) inside the JADE CHAMBER (quest)*

@@Sheevlord That is true, but as far as I can remember she didn't seem to be familiar with the story, she acted like she heard it for the first time.
@@AmadeusNarrates Well, I guess she didn't read that particular book then
