Another easy way is just disconnect the earth terminal from the battery with the ignition switched on, then you can get into the boot and replace the switch
my 2004 micra boot will not open I have to do it manually I've even bought the lock & the push button all to but yet doesn't work advice would be great please

wd 40 is a release oil not a lubricating oil, so when its dry's out it will seize again. maybe use bike oil?
