wd 40 is a release oil not a lubricating oil, so when its dry's out it will seize again. maybe use bike oil?

Another easy way is just disconnect the earth terminal from the battery with the ignition switched on, then you can get into the boot and replace the switch

Will try this on mine. Boot won't open and think it's draining the battery is that a possibility
