You guys have been great with these interviews. Isn’t it intriguing that we are only learning so much of our own artists through you? I'm glad Pilita addressed the difference of the dialects or languages in Philippines and how some people would not understand each other if not for English. I grew up and was raised here in the US but the only Philippine language I know is Bisaya since that's the language my parents speaks to me but a lot of other filipinos here thinks I'm just being "maarte" because I don't speak tagalog. I'd always had to explain that I'm fluent in Bisaya and can understand a few tagalog but not able to speak it. I hope this would shed some light to others that not all can understand each other's language.

It also shows the humility of the Filipino artists to grace shows of CZcamsrs such as yourself. With big artists in the West, you’d probably have to go through so much to get them for even just a minute of conversation. Their managements love their dollars too much and they treat their artists as properties so even if the artists would want to, it’s a totally different game out there specially with political bs too thats now very pervasive in their pc culture.

That was part of my influences growing up on how to sing infront of the crowd where my dad would always be my guitarist! What she said is true.... in every family reunion, fiesta, birthday or even christening of children, Filipinos always have guitars and are always singing in any occassion. At some point, you may get approached by someone from Philippine media, or maybe biographers or writers, for this footage.
With older Filipino folks, however, I find that I have to speak slower, really enunciate, and I try to avoid speaking in a colloquial way (I’m from California) because there are phrases they might not catch. Practically speak with a Filipino accent, haha!

Mahalo for the reminiscent reminders ... I'm remembering my childhood days in Balamban... when all we had were transistor radios and every Domingo gabii we all gathered together around the radio listening intently to the cancioneros/ras competition broadcast every week... I do remember vividly Pilita Corrales singing on the radio. I'd forgotten and didn't realize until watching this interview she came from where I was born... ALOHA Ceska and Efra... PEACE... CIAO

So much fun to listen to your conversation with Ms. Pilita Corrales. Hope you can find music video of Ms. Nora Aunor during her heydays in the 70's . She sang the jingle of coca cola back then. She is dubbed as the one and only Superstar in the Phils. The golden voice then. Millions of fans adore her and her loveteam Tirso Cruz lll.
