congrats for a wonderful and so haaapppyyy podcast... hehe
Hope you can have Martin, TJ and KZ next 😉
Hi Efre
I really enjoyed this podcast and even shared this to my friends and family..
My mom and I enjoyed it very much efra. Congrats for being able to interview Miss Pilita..she is a legend. Thank you!😉
It's so rare for Pilita to have this kind of interview.
Very true
Yeah, that's true. ✌️😁🇵🇭
Yess indeeeed! 🤍🤍
Love you nay pilita 🤍🤍
Also love of you guys! ☝️✨✨💜💜
Sana maitampok din nila ang ating ng iisang superstar Nora aunor ng marinig din nila ang golden voice nito.
You guys do not realize that you just made history with this podcast. It is so rare that Pilita would do this in depth interview. The entertainment news here in the Philippines are so focused on mainstream actors and love teams... And hearsays. And even Filipino vloggers do not have Pilita on their channel. This video is a gem. Thank you! ❤️
You guys have been great with these interviews. Isn’t it intriguing that we are only learning so much of our own artists through you? Most local interviews only ask about what they want from the artists for sound bites but you guys are interested in the person and with what the artists do, as a result your conversations are mint 👌🏼
Yes. Exactly. I so agree with you.
I agreeeee
Uhmmm, nope, grabe nga manghalungkat ng buhay dito ang press, lalo pa nung 90s. Kahit di totoo isusulat nila lalo pa pag naka galit ng artist/s sila.
Because our TV networks focus on melodrama TV and silly shows than getting to know our artists.
@@thepinoychoppingboard1012 that’s true in written articles because time is not a problem. But with tv interviews which are usually short form, they tend to create a false representation of how things really are. In long form conversations like this, you get a little more insight and feel of the real person and not just the persona.
This was an awesome interview. How the heck did you manage to get Pilita. She's like Entertainment Royalty here in the Philippines. She's one of the OG Filipina Divas. Even her children and grandchildren are actors and actresses here.
Jaya
@@dectator6663 was thinking Jaya, Regine or Ross. was it really Jaya?
@@scoc253 sya ang pinakamalapit kay lola Pilita eh
@@dectator6663 👌🏼
true. Janine Gutierrez is her granddaughter. jackie lou blanco and ramon christopher are her children.
You guys have no idea how rare this is. The younger Filipino generation probably has not seen our Mamita in a very personal interview like this.
Did you just see how lovely Pilita's personality is? She is someone you'll love to company with. When she speaks you feel she's real, beautiful and lively. How blessed is her family to have her.
Pilita rarely gives interviews this long...and she seems enjoying it. That means she likes you, guys!
This is the only time I got to know a legendary singer - PILITA CORALES, more. Most TV shows here do only short interviews. She is such an icon and as a Bisaya I'm so happy to know more of her story. More power to your channel and I hope REGINE can also be in Feature Friday.
During her time, any singer was like a treasure because they are rare but best of the bests.
I'm glad Pilita addressed the difference of the dialects or languages in Philippines and how some people would not understand each other if not for English. I grew up and was raised here in the US but the only Philippine language I know is Bisaya since that's the language my parents speaks to me but a lot of other filipinos here thinks I'm just being "maarte" because I don't speak tagalog. I'd always had to explain that I'm fluent in Bisaya and can understand a few tagalog but not able to speak it. I hope this would shed some light to others that not all can understand each other's language.
i'm only like a few seconds into the videos and skipped to the influences segment and she referred to bisaya as a dialect but it's a language 😭 did she clarify it?
I am a middle aged Filipino but this is the first time that I have seen Pilita Corales interviewed like this. It's so nice to hear and I can only imagine how our music industry has evolved through time. Thank you Waleska and Efra for the wonderful moment with our legendary Pilita.
Hi A'tin 👋😊
@@yagaatin Hello Kaps. Hahaha
Kaps pati d2 napadpad na tau kakahanap ng SB19.. I admired Waleska and Efra, it's really entertaining channel that we learned deeply our artists...
@@hpg.02 Hahaha, Tambay ng YT Kaps kaya ganun. True gusto ko tong channel na to walang bias eh. Saka artists sila kaya they know the real thing.
Filipinos just really took for granted these Classic icons of the Philippines because young people have short attention span and only listens to kpop
I adore Pilita and Efra's etiquette when they cross talk. It was just the cutest. 😍
I'm a fan of many but this is the only podcast I watched from beginning to end 🤣 because it is really RARE for MS. PILITA to appear in this kind of interviews 😊😊😊
Ms. Pilita never aged.... she looks the same since i start primary school...
Gorgeous as ever.
Amazing! You guys pulled off an interview of a lifetime. No one locally has interviewed Pilita lately and engaged her this well.
So heartwarming u guys .. pilita is a national treasure and we love how u appreciate her so much.. she is a world class performer and becomes an inspiration to all who loves singing and performing.. i hope u could collab with her soon.. its a must watch..
All Filipinos esp living in the Philippines consider Pilita Corales as a national treasure, a living legend. Her career is only overshadowed by her warm personality and humor. This is truly the best podcast ever. Salamat! ❤👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Got teary-eyed and it never felt like an hour and a half. Ms. Pilita is a legend among the legends. Thank you for this.
38:09 I love how she just very casually dropped that she had the beatles on her show, and Efra's brief disbelief as if he thought he heard it wrong 😝 The power of this woman 🔥
Regine Velasquez won in one of the singing contests Pilita hosted years ago. That’s how Regine Velasquez’s career started. You guys should have asked Pilita if she knew Regine. She could have told you more about her.
They shouldnt be. That podcast should only focus about Pilita only.
@@IamproudAtin13 will they could. Part of her being a legend is finding stars like Regine, Ogie and Gary. Like how Regine and Jaya was doing after establishing their own careers
This takes me back. My mom would listen to Pilita Corales's spanish songs in the 1960s since she grew up speaking Spanish but the Philippines had mostly transitioned to Tagalog and English by then.
My oh my...who are your connections waleshka and efra that you can get to interview those pominent guest live on your podcast? You two are amazing and brilliant to hook up w/ very famous celebrities of the Philippines. Its ashame that you guys from another country had a chance to explore our own celebrities rather than our own bloggers/reactors to initiate a treasurable conversation. Congratulations guys!
I also ask myself about that. And an answer popped in my head that maybe because there's no vlogger/content creator like them here... Becaus nour own content creators only tackles about Online games, toxicity, social issues, and some shit scripted pranks. Hahaha just sayin' the truth
Because the love of music they find ways to contact and interview the legend.
They say if Filipino babies are born, they don't cry they sing
bijjj not all. I am part of that 5% Filipinos that are toned deaf ahahaha
@@blue9322 my friend jokingly said that we're not toned deaf, we are the higher and lower harmony. 🤣🤣

Pilita's aura is so beautiful and wonderful. She emanates love.
Indeed
You know even if I’m a Filipino I’m learning alot from you guys. Whatever it is. If it’s about music, vocals or even in life. I love watching you two. I appreciated that. Keep doing this things!
True... Keep it up beautiful people 🙏❤️
You guys are changing the game. From reaction videos to actually interacting with the artists you react to, that’s a feather on your hat you could be proud of. It also shows the humility of the Filipino artists to grace shows of CZcamsrs such as yourself. With big artists in the West, you’d probably have to go through so much to get them for even just a minute of conversation. Their managements love their dollars too much and they treat their artists as properties so even if the artists would want to, it’s a totally different game out there specially with political bs too thats now very pervasive in their pc culture.
Pilita is the originAl Asia queen of songs and had been singing internationally. One of Her popular song then was a million thanks to you.
Ahhhhghhh! Such a blessing that you guys are having a splendid podcast as this!!! It's a bit shameful that most of us Filipinos are learning from our legendary artists only now through you guys... Your podcasts is my favorite, dont care how long it takes esp when you get great people to learn from... Kudos guys! Godbless!! Looking forward to more of your podcasts soon❤️
I am a bisaya like Pilita and I grew up listening to the famous "Matud Nila" song by Pilita. She's my hero and I love her personality. I knew she is a joker on TV but I didn't realise how down to earth she is. I feel almost like I was listening to my auntie. You guys are amazing and you should get a Filipino citizenship should you wish it, because you have done so much for the Filipino music industry. I CAN'T BELIEVE you even know Elizabeth Ramsey hehehe. I love these two women. Like you, I am a Londoner. Ojala que un dia, les veo en este ciudad. Besitos xxx
Hi Waleska and Efra. Me again. Here's another info: In the early 80s Pilita and the late comedian Bert Tawa Marcelo hosted a singing competition. The grand winner was a young girl named Chona Velasquez. She changed her first name to Regine and the rest is musical history in the Philippines.
Yeah!! I remember!
Wow! I did not know she discovered Gary V too.All i know is that she helped out young Regine and newcomer Jaya.Ms. Pilita is really amazing.
*Pilita age gracefully. Thank you for this episode. We would never hear this in mainstream media. You two have a skill on talking to people super nicely and extract a wonderful piece of history from them. We can see that your guest always have fun being interviewed by you guys which is a younger generation but can scale not to over did and make them annoyed. Imagine full movie 1 hour and 31 minutes, its tiring for someone but if it seems they are forgetting the time and having fun, now that is a skill. Great stuff. Love you both.* 💯💯💯🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
She is a legend.😍😍😍
"maybe they don't have food to eat but they have guitar" hahaha 👍👍👍
Man I am zero in the whole time... I am so honored to learn from a legend. Thank you so much Wale and Efra for this amazing opportunity.
She is the undefeated queen of of songbird Legency filipino respect on her is overwhelmingly cause her voice is singing Angel 👼 the legend will live FOREVER ❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻👼👼👼❤️❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻👼
I loved watching her when I was little, it was in the 80’s, Ms. Pilita and Bert Marcelo had a weekly TV show called Ang Bagong Kampeon (The new chanpion). My family would always watch that and I always loved Ms. Pelita’s gown with the famous high slit and her demeanor and the funny jokes her co-host would make during the singing contest. That was part of my influences growing up on how to sing infront of the crowd where my dad would always be my guitarist! What she said is true.... in every family reunion, fiesta, birthday or even christening of children, Filipinos always have guitars and are always singing in any occassion. That is always a norms in different parts of the country! Thank you so much for featuring her, I just learned that her first album was done in Australia. Kudos to your channel for featuring the amazing Ms. Pilita Corales!
Learned so much of our legendary Pilita. TQ for featuring our one and only Pilita - purist Singer and wholesome entertainer....
You both are not just good hosts, you are very good conversationalists. You both are amazing!
🙋🏻 I agree

WOW... this is awesome!!!! It's Mamita Pilita Corrales. The Legendary Asia's Queen of Song
Its really an honor to watch Pilita on your feature friday! She doesn't age and its enjoyable listening to her. Shes so humble despite her achievements. Congratulations efra and Waleska, that was entertaining and informative.
You're LUCKY to interview a PILIPINO LEGEND! Pilita is still so smart and spontaneous. Very good interview! Salamat!
It's good to see Hispanic people recognizing the Hispanic culture in the Philippines. The United States tried their very best to take out the Hispanic culture in the Philippines when they colonized it.
Exactly
Well they failed. They just erased our knowledge in spanish but our customs, traditions and our nonverbal language still rooted in spanish and precolonial filipino. Filipinos just dont know about this but hispanic and precolonial is intricately interwoven in the filipino culture it is impossiblw to eradicate.
Big artist like her having a long time interview like that? So Lucky.😌
Shes right we have what so called "regional language" from one region to other, language differs, sometimes english language is the only way to survive the conversation 🤣 even with foods, Filipino cuisine has its regional cookery. Same name, but different taste, different way of cooking, different recipes, in consideration of different local culture adoptation, history and stories. ❤
Ladies and Gents, The Asia's Queen of Songs, Pilita Corrales!
What a gem of an interview! This will go down in the history books. You captured a very rare, very casual interview that you wouldnt see on a TV program. You all should have just sung together at the end. I was hoping that was going to happen. You can do the reaction another time.
At some point, you may get approached by someone from Philippine media, or maybe biographers or writers, for this footage.
With older Filipino folks, however, I find that I have to speak slower, really enunciate, and I try to avoid speaking in a colloquial way (I’m from California) because there are phrases they might not catch. Practically speak with a Filipino accent, haha!
But, my god… Pilita Corrales in a CZcams podcast!! Unheard of!
¡Muchisísimas gracias por este gran entrevista!
Hi Waleska and Efra. One of Pilita's wish now is to translate Filipino songs into Spanish, record them, and distribute them in South American countries. She is looking for translators in Spanish. Perhaps you might be able to help her fulfill that wish.
Make this happrn pleaseeee
Ms. Pilita, you should have an auto-biography or biography written. You have a beautiful life and a wonderful past. Your memories are a treasure trove of information about the evolution of showbiz. Pleeease do it. You are a national treasure. This is something you need to do for the future generations.
Yoohooo! One of the Iconic singer in the Philippines! We love you Ms. Pilita! I remember my late Lola when I first saw Ms Pilita. Viva Pilipinas!
Learning and digging the roots of Filipino music is so amazing. I'm glad you interviewed Pilita Corrales, it's not always that you get to hear this side of her.
Pilita is really amazing. It is true when she said she did not want to talk about price and she will not charge. When our church has a show for a cause and Pilita is the star and knew that this is for charity, she returned half of her talent fee. Such a wonderful lady! 💙💙💙💙☺️
It happened! Wow! Congratulations, guys!!!
I heard Pilita sing live in Cebu. She has the most beautiful voice.
Wow! Ms. Pilita is one of the legends here in the Philippines. Great show and interaction.
It warms my heart too knowing you find some connection with chavacano.
I am a chavacano. Muchas gracias con ostedes con todo mi corazon. Bonito!
Naawa ako kay Miss Pelita,,I'm sure sobrang natuyo lalamunan nya sa sobrang haba ng interview na ito...

I hope there is a moment when pilita recall singing in the beatles concert in manila....
Of all the podcasts you did this one tops my list. Pilita being a comedian really got me here I mean I love this whole interview.I want part 2 🙂

I adore Mamita! She’s a legend twice over. 🥰
She's so adorable like any other grandma that wants to talk to her grand children everyday. Thank you for this interview it's so much fun and I learned a lot from our legendary singer.
I wish they speak Spanish🥺 BUT IM HAPPY THEY WERE ABELE TO SPEAK TO ARE QUEEN OF SONGS👑🇵🇭✨ nice one guys✨✨ PLEASE DO REGINE NEXT🥺
If you noticed, Pilita was already initiating it; she would say "bueno" and "perdón" during the interview 😄 but Waleska and Efra kept it in English as most of their viewers understood English.
Or they didn't want to do subtitles? 😁 yeah too bad they missed those cues from Mamita
Philippines used to have Spanish as a national language. Even the national heroes like Luna etc, only speaks Tagalog or Spanish. Pity that the country lost it after American colonization.
Sana maibalik español sa ating bansa!
Wow, the living legend 👏. Thanks for featuring Ms. Pilita Corales.🇺🇲✌🇵🇭.
Whenever she smiled I smile too 🙂❤
I’m so happy that you gave her an interview. She’s an iconic singer.
I feel great that I was never been wrong in subscribing to your channel WAL & EF for one important reason, and that is - your love to filipino talents and music. Imagine how you immersed yourselves with us filipinos with no filipino blood at all? Man!, this is something to appreciate on a higher level. Thank you guys for the love and support and so do we to both of you. More power!!
Exactly! Same sentiments as you. More power to you, Waleska and Efra!
She's one of the legendary Filipina singers like Nora Aunor that you may not hear the inhales or the breathing but the phrases are so long. 🥰
Mahalo for the reminiscent reminders ... I'm remembering my childhood days in Balamban... when all we had were transistor radios and every Domingo gabii we all gathered together around the radio listening intently to the cancioneros/ras competition broadcast every week... I do remember vividly Pilita Corrales singing on the radio. I'd forgotten and didn't realize until watching this interview she came from where I was born... ALOHA Ceska and Efra... PEACE... CIAO
Still waiting for Waleska to freak out once she gets to talk to Lea Salonga and Regine Velasquez. This podcast is such a gem in YT.

Because of music appreciation, you guys are all talking like old friends even with the age gap. Thanks for the respect. BTW, I'm sure Pilita's beauty and youth secret is her great sense of humor.
The conversations was so brimming that when I checked the timestamp, it surprised me that I was only at the 15 minute mark. Thank you, Herrera sibs for appreciating Filipino music, our language and the gem that is Ms. Pilita ❤
