Ya, and that's why I think that the foundation should be very polished, so that the cheerleaders have confidence in their routine.
Also talking about confidence that is a very important thing in cheer routines that I see gets often overlooked, but it's so easy to spot a team that isn't confident in doing their routine than other's who are.
If they have a good foundation you can move onto harder stunts so much easier and they'll feel easier too.

But they lack discipline and don’t really seem like a team. Any sports team I’ve been on we would have had our ass chewed for getting mad at someone for messing up. We are taught to be supportive no matter what. That’s your teammate, you treat them like family. You don’t go “wtf is you doing” when they mess up and rolling your eyes. She looked so defeated and my attention was instantly pulled to her because of how she reacted to it. Y’all did good. It wasn’t the best that we’ve seen from y’all but it was sooo good. I love y’all, but I knew y’all would perform this way. Mushy transitions, sloppy unclear stunts, fumbled and drop stunts, and you could see the defeat in their faces as the performance continued. They have all the potential but they lack discipline and focus in practice and that definitely showed on that stage. So basically the main problem is lack of discipline. Coaches can’t be singing city girls with them one second then expect seriousness in the next. Next season needs to be clear cut rules for EVERYONE. Coaches included. Flyers need stretching classes and bases need strength training. It is time to execute.

The practice beforehand didn’t diminish y’all’s spirits and you went out there and left it all on the mat. So proud of y’all and I can’t wait to see where y’all go from here! ❀❀❀

Hey ladies!!! Y’all did so good and I’m super proud I’d like to give some constructive criticism though. 1. I could tell from the beginning there was some tension between certain teammates and I’d like to say you are a TEAM no ONE is greater than another if one person I weak in certain areas u all are! 2. When u mess up during comp don’t get discouraged! Act as if nothing happened and keep those beautiful smile on your faces! Other than that well done ladies💗

It wasn't that bad. They looked pretty good. Some accidents. But that's part of the process. Lots of teams have falls. Maybe in upcoming year work on tidying the routine up. Maybe the routine was a bit tough for the team.

They really did a great job and should be more proud of it than how they looked afterwards! For next season I feel like the coaches should stress the importance of fighting harder for the stunt and not giving up because one part slips up. Also they should extremely put more focus on not dropping the flyer and get disciplined more for that (with conditioning) in order to really understand the seriousness of it because the level of stunts they do are just so dangerous for a flyer to fall from and you can tell when the bases under that flyer are really watching her or not and making the real effort to catch her.

Even if you mess up really bad, the show must go on. Smile on your face and energy the same as when you started. These girls need to be more of a team instead of the blame game when something happens and getting mad. The attitudes don't help. They did good.

Living in the UK my understanding of cheerleading is very different to what it actually is so this year I have watched a fair bit of different teams and their journey to get to summit or maybe not.
I loved that the coach was not negative when things were going wrong in practice... She clearly understood that nerves were probably having an effect and the anxiety the girls were feeling can then make them very snippy and short with each other.
I have just read a few comments that refer to negative comments made on the post so I stopped reading. I just want to commend all the girls, the coaches and their families as I know the hours and days sacrificed for training and competitions just to get to Summit. The sheer hard work and dedication alone should be remembered and praised because regardless of what happened on this day... They got to Summit. I hope they enjoyed the experience and continue to grow as a team. I thoroughly loved watching this video, thank you for sharing your special day with the world!

They did AmAzInG đŸ‘đŸŸ coming from someone who has competed before at that same location (GameDay comp tho)... thats took a lot of strength and those girls pushed and made it happen... the fact that they even went to summit is huge. Not everyone goes to summit. And as an African American team at a predominantly white competition đŸ„łđŸ€žđŸŸâ€â™€ïžđŸ‘đŸŸđŸ‘đŸŸ YASSS hats off to you girlss
