"I just use whatever I have in my pantry" *has literally everything in his pantry
😂 that's so true..
I died when he showed his tea drawer. 🤣
My pantry is basically a desert compared to his.
😂😂 he did say he’s been at it a decade.
Lmao!
“one of my five go-to dinners” sounds like a video i would watch
@josh mbunta I eat BBC, I also like eating CNN and FOX
@josh mbunta yeah, no. I’m not a degenerate
@@profilepicture828 porn bad religion good 😊
@@Noba46688 that’s a porn thing? Well, idc
@josh mbunta 😍😍🤩😋😋😛😝🎉
Mike, your videos are genuinely better than most of the Masterclass classes with professional chefs. Thanks for all you do, man. I’ve learned a ton from your videos over the years
True, chefs conceal a lot of details. Make it look like magic trick. I don't like tricks, I like simple stuff.
His videos are realistic and tailored to everyday people, whereas anything by Gordon Ramsay is more tailored to those who have a very large budget and/or spent years at Le Cordon Bleu school.
Fun fact about matcha: it also contains L-Theanine which essentially counteracts a lot of the jittery effects of caffeine, so it’s great for those who are sensitive to caffeine!
I can contest to that...no more jitters. I cut out coffee a few weeks ago and now enjoy my 2 cups a day of matcha. I add a couple pinches of stevia, a few drops of vanilla extract, and drink it over ice. Totally decreases the bitterness.
@@pennygardner9739 I love matcha but never thought to add vanilla extract, gonna have to try 😋
This is also in green tea generally, no need to make it matcha specifically.
Yerba maté is a good, cheaper alternative than matcha which tends to be super expensive.
It's higher in antioxidants than green tea, and higher in caffeine (matein) than both green tea and matcha, but due it's composition it doesn't give you the jitters like coffee may do.
Also maté can be re-steeped and reused *a lot* of times, unlike green tea or matcha. It's overall the more accessible and budget friendly option, best replacement for coffee, and way healthier than green tea.
Ooh, thanks for the tip!
You are such a good cook. I’m 63 and have been cooking for a good many years, so I know a natural cook when I see one. I really love the way you have a beautiful sense of balance. You have something for everyone. Extremely well done. ☮️💕
I've picked up so many tips from him.
@@mholtebeck so have I.
I’d be interested to find out “how to freestyle a baked good”! Like.. which baked goods can be free style with minimal ingredients? How do we know what makes it light vs dense, low sugar etc.

THIS
As if I was thinking the same as I don't everything I need for muffins or carrots cake and looking how to wing it without completely botching it
If you’re interested in that, you might want to check out the book “Lateral Cooking”. The author gives blueprints for many foods (e.g. what ratios are roughly needed, where can and can’t you change things around) plus showing examples of how to vary and adapt and how you go from one type of recipe to the next. I found it really helpful for learning to improvise
With time and practice! I cook soups all the time and I learn something knew almost every other soup (I wing it) I used to follow recipes to the T but it kept me out of the kitchen because I wouldn’t like it so I must be a terrible cook but when I’m winging it if I don’t like it I have motivation to get back into the kitchen to ‘perfect’ my craft! It’s very relaxing and extremely replenishing when you can share it with friends and family and see the gaze of aws from a great home cooked meal!!!
I grew up watching Good Eats with Alton Brown. Honestly, watching your videos as an adult gives me the same feeling as watching that show as a child. Keep it up! I am completely loving your content.
Good comparison! I didn't see it at first but you are so right, it's not about what he is making but what he says, He gives you the info you need to make it own.
Same. I’m an adult now. lol
You are so right
I love how you didn’t shame yourself for the sweets or really anything. You intuitively listened to your body and nourished it. Love these healthier snack options!
Boy do I love this guy's energy
Love the sponsorship on this vid man! People have little to no issue seeing a physical health doctor, but struggle to see one for their mental health. That's an important message to get out there and it's great seeing it brought up here.
Meanwhile me, italian, eating a shitload of pasta for lunch and being sleepy for the next 4 hours
0:47 What a beautiful plan for a day!
Nourishing our body often gets left out. You are a great encourager!
Very much agree. I like meal prepping lots of side dishes and proteins, then combine them in various ways.
Oh thank you. I always wondered why my green tea was so bitter and disagreeable. The water was too hot!
The best part about meal prep is you soon forget the effort put into it, but you never forget all the food quickly available in the fridge when you're hungry NOW. 👍
This mine
1 - water
2 - brewed chai
3 - fruit or oats with fruit
4 - lunch, sandwiches, leftover vegetables, bean veggies, lentils with either rice or roti
5 - light snack whatever is there with some tea at 4:30
6 - nice big dinner, could be anything lmao
i really enjoy your freestyle way of cooking! cooking = having fun! this is the key
I love watching your videos. You make me want to be a better chef and you inspire me every day to cook for my family! Thanks for doing these videos!!
Solid video as always. Really appreciate you presenting recipes/meal ideas that are so flexible and easy to make with what we have in our homes.
Salads for lunch are the best. I’m definitely a person who just tosses things together and it’s always so good!
Love your meal prep vids, quick fresh Tex mex on fresh corn tortillas is now my diet like every other day cause of you!
@Beatriz Macri de Campos Best thing is to go back and find that video for ideas. I will often when the mood strikes to burritos.
If my son can grow up to be like you I would have achieved my goal in parenting!!!
been watching u since the brothers green, and as a fashion design major living in the city last year was really tough especially food wise. I’m really proud to say how rarely i go out just as a result of how much i love my food! This video is such a great example of why cooking for yourself can be fun, healthy, and to me most importantly fulfilling. Thanks for all this content over the years and hope you’re doing well!
Your videos are so wholesome ! I have been showing up for myself - cooking wise quite consistently, am definitely going to make that coconut curry. Thanks for the inspiration !
this is literally my perfect day of eating. More videos like this pleaseeeee!
All of your videos make me want to cook so badly! Thank you for the inspiration!
Loving this new video format Mike, wasn't sure how Pro Home Cooks was going to differentiate itself from Brothers Green, but these themed recipe compilations are great, I never use everything, but there's always something great and useful in each video.
I really love the quality and style of your videos

Just made the banana pancakes, I used oat flour and they were delicious and so easy to make !Thank you!
Really appreciate this video, and that you didn’t talk about dieting in it! Thank you!

Mike: "All my cravings into one"
Me: adds cookies and pizza to the salad
My new favorite channel. Thank you.
This video giving subtle sponsorship to the entire citrus industry energy 😂
Everything looks delicious, as always. Going to have to try those date balls, and the coconut curry, soon. Thanks Mike! 👍
I thoroughly enjoyed this vid. Every dish/creation is something that I would prepare independently or as part of an entire meal plan. I haven't gotten into kombucha but have always wanted to. Your ginger peach drink looks delicious and makes me want to start my kombucha journey. Everything was spot on. Kudos!
Always fire! Thank you!

I also start my day with lemon water. I just love it!
People, try those energy balls. I struggled a lot making them on my "smoothie bullet" since I don't have a food processor but in the end it was totally worth it. They are AMAZING!
I love watching your videos. They are always enjoyable, easy to watch, and inspiring! Thanks for all your hard work. I know this may be an odd request and even out of your wheelhouse, but would it be possible to get a video like this or like your quick dinner videos in which you show us how to cook for a large family? I'm talking 8-10 servings.
Excellent video!
Great video full of fantastic ideas!
Thanks!
Love the videos. Great motivation and inspiration. I would really love if you could mention how long you can save and store some of the things you make or prep.
Dude I love the bowls you have
Awesome Tipps! Thank you. Who is editing your Video? I love the style.
Loved this video. Lots of good inspiration...thanks as always...,,!
Thanks man great video
Great inspiration love your videos thanks
You make me want to cook more from scratch! Thanks for sharing!
For me and mine as far as the dinner bit we tend to make a meal list of dinners for the week. We found it cut down on waste and helped with our grocery budget also if we know we are going to have x for dinner the night before we can either have it for lunch or twist it into a new lunch the next day.
I’ve made the curry recipe and it was sooo good! Thanks for sharing the curry paste technique. made mine with fresh turmeric. I wish I could attach the pic!
All looks very tasty!
Great video thank you. I'm learning a lot from you!
Amazing meal prep! great video 🙏👏👨🍳
Love your channel
Good video bud. I love your kitchen . Inspirational
Amazing video!
I noticed you used packaged Dijon. Chef John's Dijon mustard recipe rocks ! great as gifts as well
So inspiring! Now I'm hungry hungry hungry! It'd also be fun to see your take on how to eat well on a very small budget. I like seeing those videos on eating on $10/week or some other amount many people would consider low.
Great Video!! I'm going to try those snacks!!
You have an interesting channel and I like your kitchen and I like water with citrus fruits in the morning, I also do it because I'm staying here for more videos, thank you very much for sharing
I will definitely be trying these pancakes! Wow 🤩
Excellent content 😎
Start another series videos
I really love those type of videos
just perfect
You are a genius! As well a master ..thanks for the variety of food !!!!!
this video was insanely helpful
A man after my own heart. Cooking from scratch. 100%
This video/finding your channel has literally changed my life, thank you! I’m wondering for the pancakes if you can use the same ratio to make muffins? And could you do a video/point me to a video where you do some of your free-style muffin recipes?
I don’t like pancakes but I followed this recipe and added raspberries and they were so delicious! ✨🥞 I love your channel! 💕
Love this video!
this snack looks so nice
OMG...why am I just finding your channel....love the way you roll.
I love the little "disclaimer" at the end. I feel like I have a very similar approach to food, I would LOVE to eat like this everyday, everything healthy and made from scratch, but it's just not realistic. I really appreciate the reminder that this is more like an aspiration, and that incorporating something like this in your diet at least for part of the meals is already a win!
OMG that salad looks amazing
