    I have been following you for a while and you are doing a great service for the consumer and the RV industry as a whole. Some manufacturers are making changes because of the public awareness of these issues. Keep up the good work. I have learned a lot even though I have a lot of experience with RV's. You have made be a better consumer.

    I have a East to West 2700 NS ENTRADA. MY PROBLEM IS THAT MY SHOWER WATER GOES INTO my black tank😮. I found this out when I went to Forrest River about it😢. We thought 🤔 it wasn't registering right but they said it was designed that way and wouldn't fix it. To me that's 😧 because we have to dump every day. I told them the grey tank was useless. They said it is what it is 😮. How do I fix this problem 🤔, My investigation is I remove the back cover behind the toilet and go under the floor to the other side of the RV to the underside of the sink and tap in. You need to do a video on this type of RV. If you have a better way please let me know. Thanks for your videos 😊

    This has everything in this RV that you described in this video. But if you have a better way to do this without cutting into the floor let me know 😊

    The moment I saw VERY famous CZcamsr promoting this RV I knew to stay away from it. This person promotes anything for clicks and money. And here you go confirming my suspicions. Thank you.

    We found out about Thermofoil countertops the hard way. A plastic bottle of bug spray was left on a counter. It reacted with the top and left an ugly scar. Thanks GD.

    Can you do a video listing some RVs that have GOOD plumbing? Ive seen a lot of your videos saying everything is good but the plumbing. Why not give a list of brands that you have found with good or very easily fixable plumbing?
    Thanks for all you do. Its great that you are providing such knowledge to us consumers!

      That is actually included in my RV Shopping class. I have a database with grades and you can just sort by the plumbing grade if you want :-) Here is the link to see what all is included, undercoverrvshopper.com/

    I wish I had found your channel a year ago, I would have bought your course for sure. I looked for months, and settled on a Jayco 263 RBS. I know it may not be as good as some, I felt it was the best I could do, without getting the more custom built units and they’re double the price and more. I’m going to watch your videos, check all my plumbing, and hope I can get to it to fix any bad connections if they in fact did this. Jayco has a 2 year warranty, double most manufacturers, so at least I have twice as long to get them to fix things, lol
    As I use my camper, I’m getting a not so pleasant opinion of the rv industry. 3rd time out, our slide door to the bedroom came unlatched on one side of the track. I brought some tools so removed the valance, clipped it back on. On the way home, it shook loose again. I took it back apart, bent the clip a little put it back, now nice and tight. Then I noticed the door frame is MDF, so wonder if the screws will hold up long term. I hate that junk, now seems the counter tops are that crap too. Oh, well, guess we need to keep hot pans off, and caulking in good shape? Thanks

    Hmmm. Doesn’t inspire confidence in our choice last fall, since we bought a FR product. Different division, but still owned by them. We bought a Wildwood 22ERAS because it’s beautiful. I would love to see you look at one and see if we totally Effed up. 😂

    3:10 Thanks for telling us the name LOL. My biggest surprise was they didn't wrap it all the way around the sink cut out.... on an undermount sink :p glad I caught that before it got too wet. but yeah, I was like really guys? LOL
    Also nice to know about the frame cracking, that's one I hadn't found in my past couple years of research. I have a 2020 2800KBH and i love the crap out of it. Yeah, the plumbing is stupid. Vinyl and Pex clamps do not mix! LOL but easy enough to fix I suppose.

    wish I seen this three years ago, lol. I have East to West Della Terra 27kbh. but, I dont 'camp' I am a vendor at a number of fairs and use it for those weeks. about 6 times a year. thankfully I have not had those issues (I think because I dont use it nearly as much as most would) but I will definitely keep an eye on those fittings. thanks.

      Thanks! I don't even need to look at that particular one to say it has bad plumbing. Grand Design is very consistent about that. • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci +1

      I never know how extensive bad plumbing will be until I inspect a unit. Sometimes there are few but still easy to access bad connections, sometimes there are a lot and in hard to reach places. If you want more info about exactly what to look for you should sign up for my free rv shopping course. It will be a few days before you get the plumbing info but that will go over everything you should look at. undercoverrvshopper.com/mini-course/
      You can get instant access and the grading app with the paid version but if you are not in a hurry to buy the free is a ton of info. Thanks for watching!

    I wonder why the rv industry uses Pex B? At least in my neck of the woods professional plumbers seem to use Pex A. It’s considerably more flexible, and as I understand it when bought in commercial quantities the expansion fittings are cheaper. Power expander tools, though, are not.

    If the plumbing is bad designing, should the water pump be lowered in pressure or should buyers of RVs invest in a water pressure regulator to be used at the water spigot?

    • @user-ic2to2oj1l
      @user-ic2to2oj1l Před 3 měsíci +2

      Yes always use a pressure regulator

    • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Always use a pressure regulator when connected to city water. If you already have a badly plumbed RV, lowering the water pressure below 55psi can reduce the chance of developing a leak, but manufacturers really need to just plumb their rvs better. Plumbing is supposed to withstand twice the rated PSI in testing, there is no reason it should be leaking at 55psi.

  • @StressLessCamping
    @StressLessCamping Před 3 měsíci +1

    You absolutely hit the nail on the head with the statement about RV companies responding to warranty claims.
    I suspect that MANY of us make repairs to the plumbing in our RVs in the campground or back home which doesn't trigger a warranty claim at all. This is how we did it. This is how most everybody that I know of does it.
    I used to be an RV warranty administrator at a dealership and I never saw people come in with popped cheapo tires nor plumbing issues and the kinds of things that are real problems but not something the RV industry sees through the way they monitor things.
    Your videos about RV plumbing, I suspect, may actually cause a change in the industry and that would be a good thing. Sure, that RVIA sticker gets the RVIA more marketing dollars but, to we consumers, it isn't worth the foil it's printed on.

    • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci

      Thanks! Some change is already happening, Brinkley now uses a pre-made flex hose assembly on their water pump instead of pinch clamps. But on models with plumbing in the slides they still do the pinch clamps...So some are good some are bad! Lol

  • @jerrytalley802
    @jerrytalley802 Před měsícem

    I would love to see how much it would actually cost to upgrade all rv cabinets to solid wood. At the least, they should offer an up charge to get it done. I love how the new brainiacs that are all about opinions want to argue the facts in the field that the rv techs have discovered. QUESTION; are the only manufacturer that do it right,mtge ones that charge $60,000 for a size/style camper that others charge $30,000 for. I’m being serious because it seems the quality designated brands by the experts, are out of most peoples price range?

    • @linkfloyd4908
      @linkfloyd4908 Před 3 měsíci

      Just my opinion, but yes and no. Yes in that there are common build themes across the RV industry. No, in that Forest River has a wide variety of brands, many built at different facilities by different crews.

    • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci

      Link Floyd is correct that there are many brands and plants and differences in how RV's are made between them. I've reviewed some Forest River that get a passing grade and others that I would avoid. If you want to browse grades in my database that can give you a starting place. Ultimately I reccomend going through my shopping course and grading the particular unit you want to understand the pro and cons, and what I would consider dealbreakers. You can do the free 60-day course, or if you get the paid version you get the database and grading app as well. Here is the link to see what all is included with both, undercoverrvshopper.com/mini-course/

    Hello Sir. Any reviews on Cross Roads RV? I'm picking up a new 2022 Volante BH 270 fifth wheel.

    • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci

      I can't' say for certain without looking at that unit, but in a quick look at a comparable listing I see what appears to be the BAL Accu-Slide system on the slide which I recommend avoiding. It is a maintenance headache and can fail in a way that bends the wall framing and totals your RV. Or it creates leaks in the slide out roof. I have not seen a Volante in person to look at the plumbing, that is the biggest question I would have about it. If you haven't checked out my shopping course yet you definitely should. undercoverrvshopper.com/mini-course/

      Keep an eye on those flex connections, especially the hot side. Many RVs are plumbed with PEX all the way up to the faucet and toilet, there is really no need to use flex.

    Would you say all the east to west products are made the same? The Alta, for example?

    • @undercoverrvtech
      @undercoverrvtech  Před 3 měsíci

      I've not looked at the Alta, but usually there are similar construction methods within each manufacturer. I say that, but I just discovered that Alliance has been doing bad plumbing in their Delta travel trailers whereas their 5th wheels that I've looked at are all plumbed correctly. Bottom line is you need to take a close look at any RV you are planning to buy because things change so much constantly even with each manufacturer. My shopping course is designed to help you assess RVs like I do, and I offer consulting if you need more personal help. We bought a Rockwood made by forest river in 2019, biggest mistake ever! Will NEVER own another forest river product. Customer service is absolutely horrid or non existent. We have spent a lot of money repairing this rv.

    • @yankeesusa1
      @yankeesusa1 Před 3 měsíci

      That can happen with grand design and others as well. Forest River has so many rvs at different qualities. Example, flagstaff and rockwood is completely different than buying a salem fsx. It’s all about research and even making sure you have an inspection done before buying. In the end though, all rvs require maintenance and you have to be willing to learn to do your own repair or save money to hire someone to do it for you.

  • @SpykersB
    @SpykersB Před 3 měsíci

    You might want to stress in your plumbing video, (which i know u know) u buy a rv with bad plumbing n it leaks, the dealer will simply fix your leak exactly how it was when it leaked via the manufacturer original install.
    So no dealer will correct the bad plumbing, they will simply fix with another bad fix.
    That shocks a lot of newbees who buy a bad plumbed rv. 🍻
