  • I think there is one earlier Froot Loops commercial where the cereal is mentioned, but the name isn't given, sorta to make the new cereal a surprise?? I'll look for that in my collection, meanwhile watch this one where Toucan Sam was voiced by Mel Blanc...

This I believe is the original from 1963 and played on Saturday Mornings when I was six and picked up the damned jingle and carried around in my head for years never questioning where it came from. Ha ha
. Thanks for solving that. JD

Boy, Toucan Sam sounds a LOT different when Mel Blanc did his voice. And dig those sixties special effects on the kids. Great commercial.

It seems strange seeing Toucan Sam without his patented "follow my nose, it always knows.."

Does anyone know if this was animated by Quartet Films? The art style reminds me of their Frosted Flakes commercials from the same time period.

And Mel Blanc had great mateiral, (unlike the shark-jumping alreayd done at his hoem base at Warners, Daffy/Bugs Daffy/Speedy anyone? ironic he would find better stuff to voice elsehwere like in this ad (or at least, if WB did this, outside the Looney Tunes franchise.).
