  • Today I linked up with my friend, Dre to overview and discuss the main differences between the BMW 135i and M235i. While these cars do have their fair share of differences, it's not to say they aren't quite similar in many aspects. The 2 series also has a significantly reworked rear suspension with a ton more travel and articulation. It has about 2 inches for rear leg room. The M235 with LSD was also a few seconds quicker around the Ring than the 1M in BMW's own testing. The best 135 was the IS model which is pretty rare and more in line with the M235 in terms of factory mods.

2:50 i need to correct you
sadly the M235i dont have a forged crankshaft...i work @ BMW factory in germany and i asked a production engineer who is responsible for the N55 engine...so he know it 100% exactly and he told me that there is no forged CS in the M235i`s N55 engine. But cool thing is that the connecting rod is the same as in the S55 engines... they have the same serial number.
But as u know there are a lot of M135/M235i with 430 HP+ and the CS can handle some power ...even wehen its not forged :)

@@twinscrolled so then show me the exact source from where u have those informations.
some ppl say that there was only in the first models a forged one...other ppl say there never was a forced one and other ppl say there was always a forged CS. for example in this bmw website the original CS is no more available but you can also take the other (forged) CS from the M2 with the number 11217602972...so what do u think, why is there a different CS part number? because its not forged.

@dave THE DCT found In the one series is not smooth from factory. They did not dial in the transmission. It will always feel clunky and shaky. Most owners decide to install a charge pipe to help at idle. I also recommend not using the AC at all unless at highway speeds. With the AC engaged at lower speeds, the car jerks and shakes. I’ve owed a 2011 coupe, 2011 convertible and now a 2013 coupe. They all feel the same.
