    in this video I replace my H7 halogen headlight bulbs with Cree LED C6 Bulbs.
    amzn.to/37mIgqp - link to the exact LED bulbs i have installed on my car
    both high and low beam require its own set
    both are H7 bulbs
    these are a huge upgrade compared to the regular H7 halogen bulbs. The light output is better, driving at night is safer and looks a lot more modern as they replace the standard yellow bulbs
    The hole that has been drilled through is for allowing the fan to have extra clearance and had been sealed off from the inside and outside of the cover (not captured on camera)
    if you have any questions, do feel free to post them in the comments section and I will be more than happy to help

However, after viewing your video you were the only youtube video that showed in clear start to finish detail removal and install of the Led's process. So thank you for that.

    Hi Preshaan,
    Nice job changing your headlights to LEDs from stock halogens.
    I did recent headlight upgrade on my 2008 BMW 528i. I got them changed to LEDs from stock yellow halogens. Made a big difference in terms of brightness cause halogens have very less brightness. I had a choice to do HID(Xenons) but those headlights can be overly bright and dazzle other drivers. I chose to go with LEDs and they are still bright enough for night time driving. I did the low, high beams, and fog lights. I was required to use headlight load resistors to cancel out any warnings on my computer dash because of different current.

    Hi.
    Are there any issues with this method of drilling the housing? For example, condensation on lens or water ingress. What is the climate like where you live?
    Thanks

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 6 lety +3

      Hi there. I haven't had any major issues with this method. I have had the lenses getting cloudy as the lense got cold and the led bulbs does not generate as much heat as the regular halogen bulbs. Drilling through the backing cover is the only way for clearance for the bulb. I then covered it up with a piece of vinyl on each side. This prevents water getting in and any moisture forming. A more permanent solution is to shorten an aerosol spray paint cap and use a sealing silicon

    • @qwxs963

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 6 lety +2

    Some new led bulbs have copper cooling ribs behind the bulb so it doesnt have fan. And if im right you can switch the Voltage control off with Carly software. So it wont show error and should remove the flickering also, when you turn on the ignition.

    ***IF YOU HAVE POJECTOR LIGHT CASE***
    I bought the exact same LEDs some time ago and the OEM halogen bulbs are way better than a 3600LM LEDs.
    You need at least 20,000LM for a good lighting on a projector headlight.
    LEDs work perfect on reflector headlights. Projector headlight are not recommended. For Projector headlights, Xenon are the best way to go.

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 6 lety

      Thanks for your comments, as you said, xenons are perfect for projector headlights which I don't have. I've made my decision based on availability, affordability, instant lighting and the fact that out of all the bulbs I've tried, there's no errors that occur.

    Thanks for the hints....it was hard to reattach the bulb the clips, it took me awhile, but eventually I hooked them up. I think I made the whole too big on the plastic cover, I went with a two inch and should've used 1-3/4" drill bit. They really look white and bright, did you do the high beam too and what was your trick to attach the retainer spring on the bulb???

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 5 lety

      Thanks for the comment, i only drilled for the low beam as the high beam covers are big enough that no modification is needed, also because on how the headlight is designed, the high beam is much deeper in compared to the low beam... For attaching the clip, i inserted the silver bulb holder first and had that fastened down with the bulb retention clip, then pushed the bulb in completely... I hope this helps

      35w is your best and safest bet... It does allow at least 1 or 2w difference as this is nothing that the frm module cant handle... Too high wattage will result in a warning which would cause premature failure of the module, same goes for too low wattage, the module will think that the bulb isn't working

    I have a 2011 328i xdrive coupe. The drivers side halo's are out and also the high and low beam. The turn single still works. Is it one bulb that runs everything or do the halo rings and high and low beam use a different bulb?

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 4 lety

      They all take a seperate bulb, unless you have xenons, then your high and low beam should be on one bulb, and your halos will be a different bulb

    Hello , my h7 bulbs are 55W each. Will I see error headlights codes on OBD if I use led headlights of 35W (OR 40W) each ?

    • @Realpreshaanb
      @Realpreshaanb  Před 6 lety

      35w is the correct wattage of the halogen bulbs, you should have no errors if you use the 35w bulbs. I haven't tried anything higher than 35w to see if they give off any errors but from past experience anything over 35w will, in most cases, give errors
