Sting, the lead singer, is from the UK. The drummer is American. The guitarist is also from the UK.
I'm a hard rock, heavy metal fan who also loves reggae and so this band is all time. So many hits, unique, and so much variety plus i just love that rock/reggae sound. A similar band is the Aussie band, Men at Work.
I thought I'd drop off another song by "The Police - Can't Stand Losing You" (Live) a song with a very deep meaning and heavily flavored with sounds of reggae. The Police was one of the highly creative bands of the 80's and 90's. They were very popular on MTV as well.
At that point, Punk Rock kicked in. MTV was a new concept, rotating The Police and a few others! Brilliant!
Good Day JM. I saw The Police live in 1983. They rocked the house for a three man band. This tune was a real winner with the crowd. Have a Peaceful Day

I believe it was the movie 48 hours with Nick Nolte where he sings this, both great movies.
George Michael made a cover of this song that was just perfection, the video is also a gem. As someone once wrote: “While Sting was mad of Roxanne, George loved her”. Hope you have opportunity to watch it too.
