"That should not be possible" just has to be the biggest compliment one magician can get from a fellow magician.
as ryan hayashi said on fool us: no matter how hard you try, there is always an asian who takes it to the next level.
So true! (maybe that's why I came to Asia, LOL)
It's the food.
@@HigherPlanesPork fried rice, my favorite.
@82 Hell yeah son. I like fried dumplings myself.
Lol magic at asian level
The greatness of Eric Chen s magic performance he was playing as not a magician. He just acts like a kid who found a magic box with magic ribbons inside.
Yes, that was the fun of this act. He seemed just as surprised as the audience. Like we're along for the ride on his discovery. Mind blowing, and a different perspective from the suave, slick style of Shin Lim. He's more "watch this" and Eric is more "what just happened?" Love them both.
EXACTLY
Awesome reaction to a great performance! One little thing as regards the beautifully structured story: he sorta 'discovered' this magical box with a ribbon and two 'microcosms' as you said, and after he learned how it works, he got greedy and tried to loot all those coins, and that's when his magic powers were stripped from him and he went back to having nothing (just like in the start). Very well-crafted from start to end, and the magic itself is completely on another level!
this is so very well said. Thank you
❤️
@@ericchien4458 Wow a heart from the man himself! Haha just wanted to say again I, my sister and my cousin completely loved your performance, and then I got to watching your previous coin and other card routines and they were so smooth and absolutely beautiful too. Looking forward to your future endeavours!
M Hamza Sajjad thank you😊
It reminds to a Chinese old story: A couple living with the old grandfather discover a old wooden barrel. They put the old grandfather at work, he should start cleaning the barrel with a brush. The brush fells into the barrel as the grandfather gets tired and suddenly it fills up with brushes. The couple then order the granpa to continue trowing brushes into the barrel, so they multiply. The Granpa has to work hard, transporting loads and loads of brushes and selling them. With the money the couple goes shopping nice things and leave the granpa working. As they are out, they think they should actually throw money into the barrel. They go fast back home, but when they arrive, the grandpa has fallen dead ... into the barrel. They pull him out but ... there is another dead gradpa into the barrel. They keep pulling dead grandpas, hundreds of then, until the barrel brakes.
The burial costs ruins the greedy couple.
(sorry for my horrible story telling, but I just made fast, have to go to sleepI
"And based on my research on that, ..."
"That makes no sense"
Sums it up pretty well...
Wow, this was impressive! It reminded me at the first time I saw Shin Lim and was totally blown away. And this is even one level further!
Wonderful job reviewing this fantastic performance. Thanks so much for making this.
Literally just watched Eric Chen Fism! What the hell!! That was absolutely mindblowing!!! Great reaction video Eduard! 👍🏼
This is why you shouldn't stop your reaction videos bro, because people like your reactions, so much to the point that you've got to know many famous and successful magicians, now to the point of champions ASKING you PERSONALLY to react to their performances. I think your reactions are great and have been a large part of your success and platform on CZcams and social media. Please keep it up, because it's part of what I love about your content.
I completely echo these sentiments. I made a very similar comment to this myself when I first saw this video. The world of magic needs an ambassador/influencer that can relate to the general public far more than it needs another full time active magician. I really feel Eduard has set himself up perfectly to be this ambassador and influencer the magic community needs. He does a great job connecting the regular public to the world of magic through his reviews and his analysis. His reaction videos got me to start following magic and I'm sure that I'm just one of many they drew in. He could have more impact on the magic industry through his reviews/analysis than any single magician could have.
Quite simply my favourite act in a long long time. The structure was perfect.
Richard Bellars toooo perfect! And the laser deal was so flawless 👌🏼
And completely fake. czcams.com/video/_dSp_f0f9gE/video.html
I'm Polling #1 Baby you’re a crack head or asinine, that isn’t will tsai, and doesn’t look like him either. This is Eric chien. Stop mainstreaming delusion. Don’t rule if you’re not certain overwise you look like a idiot. This routine is full of sleight of hand also, so fake isn’t a category this routine fits into but beautiful and well structured does
To all the magicians thank you ,,you guys are pure joy
The moral of the act~ when u put money in the game, all the magic disappears
Great act for sure
David Globe + you weird
I personally viewed it as the game was to maintain balance between the two spaces depending on what was in the two small frames, but when there was money involved, he got greedy and ignored keeping it balanced between the two sides and thus it ended.
Ive watched this act so many times. Im getting closer and closer to going crazy
I love the concept at the end. He got greedy by turning all his cards to coins and trying to collect them, and was punished for his greed, so they took away his ribbon and changed his vest back to normal. Basically stripped him of his powers for abusing them
yeah i love the act .. the curious , the happiness , the greedy and regret . the whole story and magic act is so perfect
The most important aspect of this is he is exploring and discovering those rules at the same time he is taking the audience with him on that journey of discovery! (Great job on your talking points!)
It's such a brilliant act. And as a magician yourself, I love how you're not too good too be fooled. You're not like "Pfft...I know how to do that....I'm just not going to reveal it because, uh, magician's code.....yeah...." *awkwardly scratches head. Instead, applauding and rooting for another fellow magician's great skills is very honorable.
I LOVE your analysis here. As a casual viewer or even someone who watches many magic videos and reviews I would not have immediately seen how this element of rules is so compelling.
And what is even more remarkable as I thought about it, is in a way he is guaranteeing predictability throughout the entire act which normally would be antithetical to maximizing entertainment, yet he is able to create surprises jn how he manipulates these rules (including the vest, introducing the coin, moving the ribbon) and all these variations with coins and cards.
This technique is actually ‘minimalism’ where the ribbon and frames and associated rules are the motif, and then are used in various iterations.
Its amazing to see that as it is effective in music and visual art, this property can translate in magic as well.
Damn that was dope loll that's my favorite performance right now. I loved that. Sorry shin but Eric is fire
This was the most impressive thing I've seen in a very long time. Absolutely flawless.
What an amazing performance!! Great Video and reaction!
Lol the very first thing, "you what? You what mate?" Is my favorite reaction EVER! He was totally not expecting that...
Love the opening! So visual! Oh...and Eric’s trick wasn’t bad either. 🤪
Eric Chien is great, and I can't wait for your new kind of contents in the near future, Eduard!
This is it, man. Step up the game, expand what you are capable of.
Wow amazing I have watched this act many times and am still baffled by it! Love the reaction video!
I bought Eric’s retention it’s amazing. One of the best purchases I ever made
I absolutely agree. This retention is capable of fooling you while doing it by yourself :D
Ye
I wanted one that would look good on youtube cos I got comments saying it was obvious and this is perfect
Bought it to but its really to hard for me xd
I think it’s worth the practice
Eric was telling a story
It was like he first seen the power of magic making the cards blue to red and vice versa, he was very surprised by it all that he got greedy and made money. After making the money he put it in his box but the power of magic was not for him to abuse so he got punished by losing all of it
The moral of the story is to never abuse something that’s good in your life or you might just lose it
The moral of this story is beautiful and he acted it out beautifully
ok, now THAT was visual! awesome reaction
Daaam this guy is something else!
Mesmerizing hair, Eduard. Love the cut and color.
I salute you, sir, for becoming so honest in your comments as a magician. So humble to admit another magician's ability more than you do.
*This is next level man!!!!!*
This was one of the best acts I ever seen... it had an amazing story with no words.
Great effect, amazing visual stuff... the card being cut by the ribbon was crazy... and when he got greedy with coins and lost everything... pure genius.
I'm glad I watched this! While I was still amazed at the original video I missed that it was what was in the frames that determined how things changed! Now it's even better!
I enjoyed your reaction video man. I saw it twice before watching your video
Put a stage show together Ed, even just for youtube would be sick
*Wow, I just watched this act on AGT. I saw the blue and red concept between the ribbon, but I didn't even think about the 2 white boxes at the top, and it changes to whatever is inside the box. Not until you mentioned it in this video, did I realize how much more there was to his act. Mind blown*
Yo eduard I love ur vids. Respect from the uk
Hi Eduard. Been watching your videos for several months. I’ve always been a fan of different types of magic and love guys like David Blaine and Shin Lim. This guy is amazing and I have little or no idea how they do a good majority of what they do and don’t try too hard to figure it out because that defeats the purpose as a fan I feel. But you have serious chops and I enjoy what you put on display of your own work and I think you should get out there with them, especially since you are so young and skilled. I’m looking forward to it. Best-Michael from NYC
Love ur reaction and analysis, hope u can be as good as him
No differences made if you slow down the visual trick to 0.25x. Great skills man. Keep it up.
What a great performance and what a great reaction. Eduard--if you read this--I'm a big fan of yours. I don't comment much--but your reaction videos are what has gotten me to follow magic. I know that you mentioned that you will be cutting back on your reaction vids--and selfishly I ask that you don't abandon them too much. I feel like your reaction videos act as a great bridge that connects magicians and people that are in tune with the magic industry to the general public. I find that your reactions almost educate the average person about how complex/fascinating a trick/routine is. Effectively--I think that what I'm trying to say is that I think that your reaction videos are a very useful and valuable tool to the world of magic in general. I truly hope that you continue doing them.
May I echo all of the above sentiments? Thanks for expressing this Jeff.
Well said! I didn't follow magic much until Eduard's videos got me interested in checking out more magicians.
agreed!
5:22
Eduard, that is literally the greatest tore and restore I've ever seen.
I so enjoyed Eric’s magic when I saw it on AGT BUT.....you made it Sooooooooo much more interesting with your experienced comments. BIG THANKS bc I enjoyed it even more knowing that you explained the process & also found it fascinating.
your reaction and respect to it top notch love this video
As always, enjoyed it.
I still cant get over how mind blowing his routine is. Makes me wounder how will anyone one up this, but I know someone will because someone always does.
Simply amazing !!!
And that is 1 craziest trick
Beautiful act, skills but also very poetic and simple
Damn you actually fooled me on the intro Eduard Todor
his vest had 3 layers. black, then blue-red, then black. see how thick it was at the beginning then so thin at the end. when he stood up to retrieve the far flung card it tugged on a string which yanked off the black layer. at the end the jacket is much skinnier than at the beginning
I can STILL smell that Queen of Hearts. Visually, I mean......
That was one of the best routines I've ever seen. I knew about half of what was going on, and I figured out another , maybe 10 %, but I was totally fooled with large sections of that routine. The little bits I worked out gave me some seriously great inspiration too ... Aside from method & technical though, the routine and it's structure was immaculate. This is the sort of performance we'll be talking about for years.
The only thing i fifured out is that the very first part he was bottom dealing or it was a push of second deal i dont know for sure
My guess is he is using pedals to step on for the magnetic frames to snap into place... The black tarp has cards under the cloth in between the layers of fabric etc
I believe the category was Close Up Magic, or something like that. Essentially, someone could have been sitting across the table from him, and still be fooled.
It seems he's using a mechanism similar to the Chinese quick mask change for some parts of the trick. Really good.
It's called demonism.
Been watching your videos for a couple years. Always been a huge fan of your commentary. But I gotta tell you, I think your teeth are straight enough now man! You should take a screenshot of yourself from the first video with braces to now and watch that magical transformation! And get the metal out bro! Lol, in all seriousness, if you did a stage show I would buy a ticket! If you were performing up close anywhere near where I live or travel to, I would come support too! Do what makes you happy and never stop having fun! Props sir!
Hi Eduard, do u know how he make the frames show up suddenly?
Those playing cards on your outro look amazing! Is that something created with graphically for the video or does that deck exist in real life and if so how can I get a copy?
Not the same, but take a look at the 'Bycicle' card decks (like 'Karnival' series), you might like them.
what a clean performance in the first take
I like the way this show happend with
Like hes notice its dream in the last show and he wont wakeup to real life again cuz hes poor in real life
I like it
Insane story in this show keep going
The coolest trick after Shin Lim.
I think in fism, there are all the categories like palour, close Up, Stage
And the you have the Grand Prix(the best in close up/Stage . And you Can win the grand Prix for close up and Stage
There is no 'Close-up Grand Prix' "CATEGORY". There are several categories that fall into the 'close-up' group. Micro magic (what we normally call close-up), Card magic and Parlour (it is basically where you can stand and do larger effects, but this is not a stage). WHEN competing in these categories, the contestant who got the most points WINS THE 'CLOSE-UP GRAND PRIX'.
Im sitting here with my jaw dropped, just like the first time I saw Shin Lim's 52 Shades of Red
I have always loved magic, can't do it myself. But so glad to see a fellow kiwi right up there😁 like to see more of your work on your channel😁😁
awesome reaction and crazy magician lol
Yo Eduard! Y’know, I think you could totally be your persona on FISM too because there are acts in FISM where the magician speaks to the audience, like Ryan Hayashi and Shawn Farquhar. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
its one thing to know how something is done even knowing some moves i would not be able to repeat it thats usualy a good routine but then there are some with moves ive never seen or for wich i have no explanation how they are done ... thats the next level and i love it when there are moves that give that feeling back thats close to .. you know magic doesnt exist so it must be a trick but that little voice that sais ... maybe it was real magic ? :D ... and then there is even one level higher when you dont even anticipate something happening and you are surprised .. even tho you kinda know how this or that might be done realizing something happen after its done an not burning his hands for the moves this is what i love. i dont eevn wanna know how he did that card cut i dont even wanna start thinking about ideas i just wanna enjoy it ... such tricks are rare theese days
Amazing!
0:18 damn...you're really good, bro..smooth n fast..
You watched it with your eyes or with the ears?
So incredible
who is better for you shin lim or eric chien?
wtf did he do with the frames at the beginning? some1 explain plz?? my head hurts
RE5PPECT its a rigged table where he presses on a pedal which flips the sections over making the white things appear and he does it again at the end to make them disappear
EDUARD....watch his left ring finger holding the deck! He is dealing bottoms not push off seconds and doing it beautifully!
im bak, I missed u. ur awesome!!!
Your reaction was great. I thought it was unbelievable.
Shim lin and Eric chien will be in competition for life lol
I wonder what Shin thinks of this act. Shin is still my favorite due to his versatility, but wow what a talented magician Eric is!
asian chinese always the best magic in the world
Amazing act
You should put together a compilation of all your intro tricks
Come on Ed...we know you are good and have it in you...we want to see you on Penn and Teller, work it and bring it brother ✌️but anyway, that was an amazing reaction to an amazing magician...thanks man👍
Great video. Great magic.
Very articulate. Thanks.
Ok yah lets all just admire his talent and skill at sleight of hand, and just forget all about that instant teleportation before our eyes at 2:16. Yah nothing strange here its absolutely normal. But seriously where can i get an instant teleportation magic kit Eduard?
Thank god one person who still has a brain..
I think you have to ask Will Tsais carpenter.
Yeah, it's either LCD screen or edited. I don't really consider either magic... well you know what I mean.
@@Bob-zx7io that was live. It s the world cup for magicians. No room for edits. And it doesnt look like displays either
@@pineapplewarrior758 If you think that teleportation bit was live I have a bridge in Brooklyn to sell you.
great stuff
Thanks for stopping by. Checked out your stuff. You're awesome.
@@EduardTodor thanks. Hope fully we can meet in person soon.
i learned his retention it is soooo effective because it looks like the fingers dont move and its not too hard either
Im new at this..please teach me..how was this reactiin ‘crazy’...or great?...apart from this guy being amazed like all of us..i learnt nothing new..i mean..not learning how the trick was done..but anything at all..anyone could say the same..i cannot..or dont wanna give anything away..it is crazy crazy..impossible..and describing what he saw...what am i missing?
This is like Shin Lim, Will Tsai & Ryan Hayashi all roled into one act! amazing routine and a well deserved winner.
Will Tsai is way below the ranking. He doesn't really use actual skills.
Best act I've ever seen !!!
Genuine reaction, bro.
i understand everything in it except how he changed the fricking vest literally one frame it changes
edgard your the man. want to be as good as you some day
Eric just told shin hold my beer 🍻.
nice visual trick
Since when OG Notail is reviewing magic
lol that blur so obvious that was after video effect XD
