Had Amp steps on my last truck, and they shit the bed about 7 months into owning them. After multiple warranty problems with AMP I put fixed running boards back on that truck and never looked back. I've seen rbp steps in person, they look way better made than amp steps.

Hey guys I'm wanting to lift my 2017 Silverado with a zone lift kit and I have no idea what I'm doing. I want a 6 inch lift but should I replace the control arms and struts with ones that fit that lift? Like what and all should I replace with a lift like that? I know I have to re gear as well but I'm a nooby. Also what wheel and tire size would you recommend on a 6 inch lift? Thank you so much in advance! Also what exhaust tip sounds the best?

    • @Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit
      @Man_in_a_Gucci_Suit Před 5 lety

Hey jodon I’m not custom offsets but I’m doing the zone 4.5” lift kit on my 2014 silverado and here’s my set up I’m doing in couple weeks
      -Zone 4.5” lift kit with
      -27560R20s (true 33 inch tires)
      -20x9 wheel with -12 offset
I’m not replacing struts because it comes with strut spacers which are ok if you don’t do a lot of off-roading if you’re seriously into off-roading then yea maybe spend the extra $1000-$2000 on new struts or coil overs
But otherwise just stick with the strut spacers included in the kit
Secondly upgrade to the fox shocks (best shock brand in industry they’re even on the ford raptors)
Third I recommend getting the add a Leaf kit. If you don’t the back of the truck will sag slightly more then the front if you get leaf it’ll be slightly higher (which is what a truck is made for)
Good choice on zone lift kit best budget lift kit there is
As far as what you should go with on tires/ rims here’s a rough idea
So stock on the silverado comes 31” tires usually with the 17x8 wheels
Most guys go with a 35 inch tire on a six inch lift popular option is 35x12.50
As far as brand of tire get Nitto ridge grapplers they won’t scream on the road they are good on and off road
I may be mistake but I don’t think you HAVE to do a regear (I’m not doing it) but after lifting you’ll have to invest in a speedometer calculator because your truck is registered to 31” tires when you’ll probably be getting 35” tires after the lift (I’m assuming) so you could be going 70 miles an hour but the truck reads 60 because different mass and rotation from previous to new tire
Hope this helps im definitely not a pro but I’ve been looking at the EXACT kit for like a year now and new nothing a year ago

Keep in mind when you lift a Chevy vehicle the front track width increases about 1 5/8 of an inch more than the back because of the strut area and knuckle designs so some guys do a wheel spacer in the back of the truck to match the front you don’t have to and I’m personally doing without it

      I’m not tuning it because
(and this is just my view)
      1. It’s a truck not a mustang I could care less about I going faster
      2. Some tunes are bad like I watched a guy on CZcams called “Lonestar Hawaiian” and he put a tune on his truck and it messed up his truck it has a knock now even after he Detuned it”
Too risky for me for such a small benefit tbh I’m only gonna do the speedometer calibration thats it
