yes just installed mine last week. wife and the kids love them. I called 10 places to get a quote for install got anywhere from 200 lowest to 450 highest. I decided to do it myself after watching yt videos and so glad i did.
4wheel part’s just quoted me $794
Where do u put the jack after installing these? If someone accidentally places the lift under these steps, and lifts the vehicles up for service will it hold the body weight and still function normally?
I have so much respect for you man. Your videos are so detailed oriented, entertaining, dead on point, long but simple and informational. Excellent job. I got the same steps installed on my wife's truck, same as yours, and they are such a deal breaker for her. They are expensive but in my opinion, the price is fair if not right for the durability, finish, ergonomic design, product quantity, easy installation, the phenomenal look and the functionality is outstanding.
By the way, I found easier for me to partially install the step bar on the brackets first and then the brackets or hinges to the frame of the truck, but I guess for you was easier but lifting the truck up, thing that I didn't do. Thank you so much for your videos.
Worth the price!!
Just got a 2020 Silverado! Found you while looking for mods on a Silverado!! Definitely watching your videos since it looks like you actually take the time to choose the right parts for your truck! Keep it up man!
AWESOME! I have those exact same ones on my 2021 GMC Sierra AT4 (6.2L). They have been awesome. Everything you said about the installation is correct. I also installed them myself. The stock AT4 steps are heavy with a sharp/rough textured finish...and really didn't do anything except rip the skin off my legs (while in shorts) exiting the truck. These steps are pricey, but 100% worth every penny. Nice work
These look awesome 👌 and as an added benefit I’ve been trying to wire up my antenna and power for my ham radio and didn’t know about that gromet under the driver floor mat. You just saved me so much frustration of fishing wires through the tiny firewall port. Looks like you just drilled out the plastic like cap they have in the existing hole. Thanks for the awesome videos keep them coming!
Just purchased these steps for my truck. I love watching your videos and the mods you do to the Silverado. I am from Ewa Beach Hawaii and moved to Ohio 25 years ago! Aloha and Mahalo for the inspiration for the truck!
Right on, Aaron! We miss home. We stayed Ewa for 5 years (West Loch). Thanks for watching. Aloha
I installed mine about a month ago and I love them!!!! I had a problem with wiring I had one side both motors were fighting each other.. all motors were installed correctly so I ended up rewiring behind the motor harness to get correct operation of the motor.
Bro I literally found your channel like a week ago because I am in the market for a trail boss refresh and am now hooked on your channel keep it up
Man, great addition to the truck. They are gorgeous. I have fixed Step bars, (2017 Silverado SCA Apex Edition)... the only thing I like about the fixed bars? No door dings! The height of the truck places those bars in the perfect position so that other doors hit the bar instead of the truck. I have personally witnessed it on two separate occasions. And I snickered both times.
I've had the AMP Power Steps on my 2017 Silverado for the past 4 or 5 years and I absolutely love them! I have no mechanical skills whatsoever so I had to break out the credit card to have them installed but it was worth every penny! Thank you for sharing!
I’ve had my Power Steps for a year now on a ‘21 Silverado LT (not lifted). My wife is super short and didn’t like the ideal to use a trampoline to get inside, lol!! No issues and probably the best purchase for my truck!
Been waiting for the upload 🔥
Man I love the videos you do on your truck, they are great mods and you are not going above and beyond where the truck would kinda suck for daily driving. You got the perfect rig. Keep up the good work man! I am currently in high school but my goal for the future is to buy myself a 2017 white on white Chevy Silverado z71, then I’d want a 2015 camaro ss aswell.
🤙🏽🤙🏽 Thanks for watching!
@@LonestarHawaiian better than the country running boards ??
i added these to my 2014 RAM 1500 6 inch lift about 6 months ago and absolutely love them , they are practically invisible when retracted on my black on Black , i will definitely be adding a set to my 2020 trail boss when i lift it , right now the boss has fixed running boards
The extreme fits on the 1500? I have a 2017 ram 1500 and on the website it says only 2500/3500 ram
My 22 GMC Sierra Denali with a 6" lift came with AMP Powersteps and we love them. Nice to have the steps when you need them, but tucked away when you don't.
I'm having these (hopefully these are the ones the dealership ordered for me) installed on my 2009 Chevy Silverado LS this week. I have the same need for steps now. For my Father is very much older now and not as agile as he once was for getting up into my truck. Thanks for the video. I do like the fact that you are meticulous about everything looking as if it was put in from the factory. I pray the installer who does the work on my truck has that same mindset. I am disappointed that there is drilling involved in the installation. Crap! Aloha from Aloha, Oregon. Google it if you have never heard of it.
Thanks for the video installing my amp kit tomorrow and this definitely helped.....I'm ready...... great video
This video came in clutch!!! Thanks! Keep the videos coming 🔥🔥
Thank you!
Great project. Amp Research steps were the first upgrade for my 2015 Silverado. I am sure you will enjoy them too.
Thanks for a great video. You make it look easy. Also I love your wheel/tire combo.
Yessss! Just bought mine for the new 2023 silverado 2500 HD! Can't wait to get them on!
Love mine after 2 years up in northern Wisconsin the extremes are a must with the ice and snow build up
This is a great video, full of good advice. However, be aware that starting with the 2022 year models, GM trucks require an additional installation step to splice directly into the the truck's wiring. Amp's OBD II connector is also required, but two wires (in addition to the two purple) have been added to the wiring harness and connect up under the dash. It's not super complex but it is additional hassle and warranty impacts on the GM side are unknown.
Damn! Love the energy you bring to your videos. Can't wait to own my Silverado. Your funny. Love it
I have the power running boards on my truck and I love them. Very clean look.
I like the lights on your running boards. Very sharp.
Again Chad awesome modification for the TrailBoss, never a dull moment on any of your videos. Again GM needs you to work for them as an engineer/designer cause you do awesome work on all your modification's. Anyways stay safe out there and have a blessed day. Aloha from Kansas
Mahalo! Thanks for watching the videos 🤙🏽
wow the fact that chevy already has pre threaded holes sold me! Im getting this same system asap! Great video bro, Trailboss is the best truck in my view from factory.
I have them on my lifted 2016 GMC 3500HD and absolutely love them!!
This is awesome. Love your videos
The LED’s in the same color as the accents would be nice. This is what I need to put on my truck. Thanks for sharing
I use insulated copper wire (like the type you use in your house) to run wires through the firewall and other areas. It works really well!
I installed a set of these on my '21 GMC AT4. They're ok. So far they have been reliable, but my 2 biggest gripes are: 1. They don't tuck up neatly and closely underneath the truck. There is about a 1.5" gap between the steps and the bottom of the truck (when they are retracted). 2. They don't extend back to the bed. My wife and my daughter love them, but I'm not 100% sure I would buy them again.
Man if only I could have a sit down with you and pick your brain about the wiring and whole anatomy of the truck. I love the passion you show when working on your truck.
I don't know if you've done one or not but are you able to do a full Silverado Trailboss 101 in terms of engine bay and wiring or perhaps recommend a few videos from some of your peers whom you deem credible?
Keep the videos coming! My Trailboss 2 door is going to be in for a hell of a make over because of you! 😂
Nice. My factory set worked about three months.
here in this Texas blackland in constant mud in water they finally gave up.
Dealer replaced them twice. Third time I took a saws all and cut them off right at the motor.
Most of the time in the back would go down in the front wouldn’t because of the heavy mud.
By the way your electric motors sound pretty loud. Although it may be just because you’re in your garage and it’s like an echo chamber.
Maybe outside they’re not as noisy.
I installed mine on my Boss about a month ago. You did alot better on the holes. I butchered two of my holes because the drill decided to do its own thing. Love mine though.
Love your videos sir! Tempted to put on my identical BOSS but cant pull the trigger due to snow and ice of Minnesota. 💜🖤
We just got a 2019 trail boss and love it it's the dark gray color and have been differently been paying attention to your modes my first one I want is to keep a v8 a v8 you do great on your videos and have a cute family can't wait to see your dad's truck painted
Thanks for the video! About to get mine today!
Great video! Definitely getting these units!
Got these steps for my 2018 and my dads 2021 and there awesome!
I installed the power ramps on my 2015 Silverado and they are awesome
Nice video! Love all the content! How are they holding up so far? Any concerns with snow/ice during the winter? Looking to install these as well
I work at the gm full size suv plant and my old job was running board install, 450+ truck a shift. These look much better than oem
I just ordered a 2022 Trail Boss today, should be here in a 4-6 months. I can't wait to copy all your mods lol 👍
Get this man to 100k
🤙🏽🤙🏽
Loving the Chanel. Do you have a link for your tool that you use to pull the push pins / grommets out? After watching this, I’m definitely going that route for my side rails
Kia Ora Bro !!!! - Former Texas Kiwi now in Minnesota!!! - go the AB's!!!
Love the vids - Keep up the good work brother - 2019 Lt Trailboss here too in Black too
Right on cuzzie! 🤙🏽🤙🏽
Yes they are a real ease of access to my Silverado. Good luck getting parts and getting them to return your e-mails. Customer service is the pitts. My auto lift retract circuit board went out. After several attempts to get a replacement or answer, i finally took a butter fly switch and wired it in. I'd much rather have it in auto mode, but for now , until i find a new board. i'll just do it manually.
Hi I been watching your videos for a long time now and love them. I have a 2021 trail boss and put the exact steps on mine last summer. I love them. But one problem I have is where I get in and out daily the paint has rubbed off. So watch for that.
They also make a step called the xl wich I believe they come down a additional 3 inches. I bet the kids really like them for getting in the truck. enjoy 😉🤙
These look great for that truck... However, is there an adjustment for delay in "Tucking"? Granted, I havent used these kinds of boards but I just wanted to ask.
You have to get the override switch for them...trust me, game changer.
Truck looks fire brother🔥
Appreciate it🤙🏽
I have them on my 2019 Chevy Badlander and I love the them. But GM told me that they won’t fix the port it’s plugged in because it’s a aftermarket part even though the company that put it on (Tuscany Motors) has a contract with they still refuse to fix it under warranty. Have you heard anything different?
I really want these for my 08 Silverado but I'm running a amf disabler so I wonder if I could hard wire the wires instead of using the OBD2 port?
I just ordered this running boards 😍
New steps Look good! 🤙🏽
I got the Amp power steps 1st thing I got for the Silverado . The wife & the kids like that easier to get in . I like the sleek look too !!
Good job. Nice review
I've mounted a couple of sets on the new Silverado, I found the hardest part drilling through the stupid pinch weld! 🤣
Bro the car wash had me dead ☠️.. I knew there was reasons I liked you and subbed almost right away
AMP running boards are the best hands down!
Hey Chad, have you installed the wireless phone charger on your truck? If so did you or would you make a video of the install?
What Chocolate? Seriously those are really nice. Worth the money with the build quality and if the motors hold up!
I love my AMP steps also, very nice!
Right on!
I wonder if you could get the lights in a brilliant white to match the rest of the LEDs and the puddle lights. The cool blue just really clashes IMO. It’s the only thing that’s prevented me from buying them
Awesome job I run amp on my Silverado as well. Love them
Right on!
Those are cool. i have the factory retractables on my high country and i like them but i wish GM did these kind of steps inside with a chrome strip on them. it makes the truck look like it sits up higher and tucks them out of way.
what do you think of Diode dynamics ss3 fog light replacement?
Yes first mod I added!!..my wife told me “you can lift the truck as long as the AMO steps are there”😆😂.. Aloha bro🤙🏽
They are so good. Should have done it a long time ago!
Just bought a 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie last night. This will be my next mod. The truck has a 4” lift already. It’s a challenge
Very cool! I wanted the factory version on my Rebel but they were recalled for some crazy defect of some sort. Eh...maybe next truck.
Zip tie the Amp research harness by the battery! Mine got brittle and the main controller fell out the bottom of the pickup 🙄 now I have a big step until replaced 😂
Best cinematics on CZcams...
Mahalo!
Which wire did you tap in for the steps to come down with rear doors
Do your steps make noise when driving like squeaking or creaking? Do they make a clicking noise when they are retracted? I install these myself this weekend and when mine close they make a clucking sound and when I’m driving, I notice a creaking sound. Not sure if you had the same issue?
Where do u put the jack after installing these? If someone accidentally places the lift under these steps, and lifts the vehicles up for service will it hold the body weight and still function normally?
I’m just wondering if this would fit my Expedition limited 🤔
Trust me you will love them I love mine 👍👍👍😎
at around 12:05 how did you get the wires into the cab - did you drill a hole in the floor??
What do you think about Rough Country electronic step??
I put the Go Rinos on my TB yesterday. Didn’t want to spend that much money. They are nice though.
How did your mount the controller to that bracket?
Where the LED lights part of AMP ir did you buy them separately? If separately how did you get them to come in and off with door open and close? Btw all you videos are incredible!!!
All part of the kit and controlled by the OBDII port connector
Love my amp running boards
very nice. can you install those on a 2022 trail boss ?
How did you get the at oem paint?
I have always wanted these for my truck, but could never swing the price. They look great tho
Another great video. Hey where did you get your gym floor mats?
Tractor Supply! They are the best,. and actually meant for horse trailers. They work amazing.
What type of drill bit did you use ?
Just got a set for my lifted trail boss. Worth the money, and now the wife can get in and out of the truck with ease.
...and my old butt as well after trying to play sports again 😂
I've always wondered, what do you do for work in Texas?
This looks like the same way for my 2018. Now my new 2022 RST i will see soon.
We're the lights from amp as well or did you order them separately? I couldn't find where you got them in the video
That came as part of the kit 🤙🏽
I just picked some up for my 22 AT4 HD. I have it leveled on 35s and the family pretty much has to crawl into it. Not anymore!
Anyone have any issues with these in winter? Worried about ice freeze up.
Slowly getting to having twin trucks. FYI, need to go to dealer and have the AMP steps added to ECU to avoid electronic issues.
The "extreme " is big boy friendly?
Ok i guess i know what my next upgrade to my truck is 🤣
I love how rugged plastic is too!
Not really..
Love the idea.. but for 2k.. I'd expect more metal..
