      The best way I have found to get a struck ring off is to twist it off gently with even force. Make sure you look at how the soft tissues of the finger are moving in order to see where the snag (stuck spot) is.
      You can also add oil or soap to get it off, and I’ve seen people use a string method or cut it off too.
      Just don’t wait! If a ring is stuck, get it off as soon as possible without panicking.

    I mentioned a problem I was having in the comments of your last video about soldering. You answered it in this video. I tried your advice today and you were spot on. I made four rings today and beat the hell out of them on the mandrel and not one solder joint cracked. You are the man. Thanks.

      That's great. I need pickle help too. No specific questions, just general advice. I"ve been doing mostly electroplating/electroforming so clean metal is extra important. Nothing like having a nice piece of jewelery flaking off bits because of bad pickle or oxidized metal or both. Looking forward to you next video.

    How do you price your work? Materials are obvious, but what do you charge for your time, and what percentage do you mark up? I worked for Zale's years ago and we marked up 2.5 times. That would be helpful. Maybe a video about that or shorter would just be to respond here. However, it would be cool to watch you make something and see how you determine material costs, your time, and ultimately what you would like to get for a piece of work, what the total of your time and materials, overhead, etc., total up to. Is that something you can show us?

    • @GomeowCreations
      @GomeowCreations  Před rokem +1

      The longer you leave it in the more work the media in the tumbler can do. It will smooth stuff out and start rounding some hard edges and give it a nice shine as well.

  • @AnyaMRocha

    I'm sorry this is a stupid question... When putting metal on the mandrel, is it measured by the ring's bottom touching the line (ie. Size 8) of the correct measurement? Or is it the top of the ring that needs to be on the size line? I hope that makes sense to you. Oh and looking at the larger ring, all I can picture is the webbing between your fingers all cut up.

    I don’t have a good domain tools dooming punches. Instead of buying a whole Dapping set again, I would like to buy individual dabbing tools or punches. I know that the size of the tool is different for different size rings. But, can you tell me a range of sizes, about 3 or 4, that I can buy that would work for flaring out the spinner ring.
