Follow up: I did this and used plastic primer, than the Rust-Oleum Chrome paint and the 2K clear and so far it’s holding up great. I did take the chrome piece off from the clips. That took longer than taking the whole thing of the car! Lol. But it look great and holding up great. That 2K clear is the best stuff. Thx again for the video.
This was the first thing i did when i got the car lol! i didn't know how to remove that piece tho ... thanks to your video, i do now so now im not scared to re-apply my vinyl bc it was a pita doing it without taking off that piece!! 👍🏽👍🏽
ewavy 831 will do, But for the cliff’s notes version, it’s the same procedure but instead there are two or four nuts holding the spoiler on. Loosen those but make sure you hold onto the spoiler otherwise it will fall out.

Also, 3M makes several varieties of tape, is there a specific one you prefer for the badge re-installation? Thanks again!!
Goof off or an 3m eraser wheel. But only use it on painted metal be careful of the wheel on plastics. The tape...hmm. Just the wide or narrow I grab at the auto parts store. Forgot the part number.

You need to buy a 2015-2016 grill surround and grill or aftermarket grill like what sold at Savage Cadillac. And the emblems of course. The video has been on the list for a long time but keeps getting pushed back. I’m sorry

The is a “ ‘ “ over the “e” which means it’s not silent like in technique. Also, I’m not sure if this is even the proper use of the word. I think that piece would just be called a “molding” or, “trim” piece.

the cover is attached to the airbag. Not sure if the logo comes off but you can’t buy a logo. Most people replace the cover along with airbag. Very expensive - usually $300. There’s a few different covers. Can’t remember which video I covered it. The nicest comes on the V3 with suede. The VSport is full leather and the lower end cars are plastic

Did you try pressing down firmly on the trunk while pushing the release button? Or pulling firmly on it while releasing? You also may be able to get to crawl through the fold down seats and try to access the safety pull in the hole.
Can you post a rear badge removal and rebadging? (Example, the CTS/ATS/3.6/2.0T badges). About to black out my emblems and I know how to remove, just not how to reinstall with precision. Thanks!

Hey there! First off nice quality. Now... I have a 2014 V sedan and I just started looking at badges today. I'd like the new (2015+) applique with new cadillac badge for rear, but I'm finding conflicting info in the forums. It appears many are recommending the Escalade badge because it fits the bumper but it looks weird to me. Do you know if 2016 V badge and applique would drop in to the gen 2 sedan? Doesn't look like it and I'm not finding this anywhere.

Yeah that's what I was thinking and after I wrote that I think I saw a gen 3 with the old Crest style emblems (thought all gen3 had new emblems), so I guess that's what you were talking about... man that sucks for gen 2 owners because the new emblems are sweet. Juan2355 should be. I’ve never removed mine but I have made adjustments because one was contacting the fender. If you remove the trunk liner a little bit you can get access to the two or three nuts holding it on. You will need a T40 or 345 torques to remove the cargo loops in the plastic trunk entryway snaps out. Then you can remove the retainers as needed for the liner. Try that and if The lights can’t come out you will need to pull the bumper. I just pulled the rear bumper for the first time yesterday and it’s very easy. Off and on in an hour, how to video coming in a couple weeks

Thank you, you’re correct on the pronunciation somebody else already pointed that out. Appliqué is what it’s officially called in the parts listing.

Appliqué Definitely won’t fit. Badge wise yes I believe you need the Escalade badge to cover the original holes.

No the appliqué has a rounded cut out on your car. If you want the new badge you should get the new appliqué to fit properly
