I got my FX2 in August 2022. Great bike that ultimately got me into road cycling. I was able to go on many road rides with pretty serious groups and keep up despite the relatively high weight in comparison to their setups. Now it's my commuter bike as I got an actual road bike.
Highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of buying one!

I have the 2022 Trek FX2. It is really good as an errand runner, daily rider, grocery getter bike. I added Bontrager's MIK Rack to the rear and an Electra Branded MIK Front rack. So much cargo capacity, I have no problem restocking my pantry with coffee, oatmeal, canned soup, or rice via "bike shopping". Regular trips to the grocery store are breeze. Plus, when unloaded, the FX2 is still light enough to be a fun bike to ride around the neighborhood or to my nearest coffee shop. It can be a bit sketchy on rough roads/gravel, but that's not my usual use case.

I realize many people have been sold that 1x is the better drivetrain, but here in Seattle my legs really appreciate the wide range of a 2x and even, shudder, an “old school” 3x system.

My old 2019 fx 2 still does the job, and I love it dearly. People can have their multi thousand dollar aero race rigs, and they’re beautiful and blazing fast, don’t get me wrong. But there’s something about an easy to ride, versatile and dependable bike that appeals to me too. It ain’t much, but it’s a honest bike.
Edit: one thing I was confused about is why they chose Altus for the rear mech and Acera for the front. I always thought that since the rear mech is used more, they’d want the higher spec, and therefore better, mech (assuming it’s not a matching set) on the rear to handle shifts more smoothly.

We have an older FX3 in the household and I was completely shocked to find that it has a proprietary handlbar and grips. Trek actually crushes the bar ends so that you can't use aftermarket grips which was quite a surprise. My LBS couldn't believe it.

That's when I saw it has rush hydraulic calipers. Called Trek and they told me return it to the shop and they will service it under warranty. I called the bike shop and they would charge me $45 to service the bike, what good is Trek warranty and no they will not replace the no name crap with good parts.

I told my bike store and they said they'd contact trek and have them send the original parts that are supposed to be on the bike and swap them for me... a few weeks ago i visited my bike store again to get the parts swapped however i have not rode the bike yet since its still a little cold. but i cant wait to get back on it when summer hits.. im eager to try the new parts. this is my first real bike and its great for fitness.. never had any issues with shifting or any mechanical issues. i swapped the tires for faster ones and changed the pedals for grippier ones and i fly on this thing. the only downside is i noticed i was losing alot of weight because i would ride everyday during the summer last year lol
