I'm literally a dude, and I have no idea how this vid ended up on my feed, but this is straightup how my grandmother always wears her sari, so authenticity approved lol.
lol happy to hear that!
😂 and I searched
😀😀😀😀
Lmao and you still watched it💀💀
No this is the bollywood bengali drape. NOT the traditional aathpore.
Its stunning how beautifully you've done this .... this typically reminds me of how my mum in law would wear the 'gorod' ( traditional bengali laal paar or red border ) on Dashami for Thakur ( Durga Pujo ) baran ( bidding her adieu on the last day of Pujo )
This is called Aatpoure or shadhashidhe style .... usually this was not worn with a blouse ( that is a British Colonial influence ) so the end of the pallu or 'aanchal' would also go across the main shoulder ( to give double layer cover across the bosom ) and the end would have the key cluster tied at the end to weigh the pallu down .
There was no use of safety pins then , again use of pins and brooches came in as a British influence.
The back of pallu would go up on the head as a 'ghomta' as a mark of respect to the husband or other family elders ....
So you'll struggle sometimes, and you'll fix it and they'll always turn out beautiful! ❤️

❤❤❤
This is a bit different than the traditional Bengali drape which is called aath poure( aath means 8 and poure means prahar sections of day) bengali women in earlier decades used to drape saree in that manner because it enabled them move their arms and legs freely to do work without any problem.hope you find this information helpful 😊
Thank you 💓
It's useful for my assignment. And what is this version of draping called?
And also to show off the embroidery in the pallu. Sarees like baluchari swarnachari had long pallus, and this style ensures that the embroidery is seen
How could you drape that easily? Wish I could have a little bit of your drape talent😅.....so professionally and neatly draped😍
Tia, you are a cultural treasure. I grew wearing salwars, but now that my weight fluctuates I've become more and more partial to sari's. I can't keep dropping hundreds on salwars every-time I gain or lose weight, but a sari is one size fits all. And you make that possible, thank you so much.
Being a Bengali I can say you have mastered this style of saree draping loved the way you explained everything
Bangli sareee is most beautifully wear and looked saree in the whole universe ❤🇧🇩
My family always called nivi drapes “Bengali style” so I’m glad I’m learning what the difference actually is!
Hey nivi drape is also bengali drape girl
U did a fabulous job girl, I just looooooooooooved the Bengali version of the saree, amazing
I am a teenager and I have always wanted to learn how to drape a saree by myself and I have started learning how to, this summer and I wanted to say thank you for these videos because they make saree draping so much easier!
Being a Bengali I can say, it's really authentic.
gosh the best pleats ive seen so far, i love it! ive never worn a saree before and this one looks fairly easy
I am so so so proud that you have carried your culture and stayed connected to it even while growing up in a far off land. And look.. your saree drape matches my saree drape :D
Indian tradition is famous everywhere 😇😊
Proud to be an Indian!!!☺
Nicely explained. I definitely will try it. I've also loved wearing sarees since i was like 9 yrs old. I would take my mom's new sarees from her closet and try them on. No i will try this version too.
I had seen my mom wearing such style specially during religious festivals. Nice presentation.
I literally like the way you showed how to wear it. As a Bengali I can relate with it. Thx.
I love your channel,, I loved the tips you have shared for a beginner like me ❤❤
Tia you have no idea how relieved I am to find a step by step easy to follow saree tutorial in English. I love your easy going persona. Thank you so much you beautiful Indian Goddess 🥰
Finally you did this😍
Perfect! and this is coming from a Bengali woman.
Thanks a bunch. Needed to drape my saree like this before a play, the detailed tutorial is much appreciated!!
Thanks for sharing dear. Loved it 😍👌
one thing about it is the broad pleat is done once...as I saw my gran do... that's why it's called a "ek kuchir sari" (a one pleat sari)sometimes also the pallu ...everything rests on one shoulder in the traditional drape...so the turned end would rest on the right and left is bare . Rest...everything is absolutely perfect and you look totally gorgeous
Super...expecting many new ways of saree draping from uh💖👌
discovered ur channel yesterday , am addicted 😍
you should try dropping the same pallu on your left shoulder. What I mean is, the last bunch or the end of the pallu that you pleated and pinned on your right shoulder, could instead over lap the pleats and be pinned over the left shoulder pleats. This way the pallu or the border comes right in front. Your style is how we do it in east bengal, versus the one I'm talking about is more a West Bengal style.
U made it soo easy..needed it very badly...thanks a lottt dear😊
My favorite style 😍of saree draping. Nice
Really superb❤️❤️❤️❤️
Wow. This is the most simplest , easy and clear video of draping and styling the Bengali saree i have ever seen. I mean i am so amazed that the style has been presented so elegantly. Wow. Helped a lot.
That is sooo amazing 😃👍🏻🌟❣️
Hi Tia always loved all your draping tutorial I've got all your SS and going to try this drape for a wedding in June thou it's traditional Indian wedding I want to try this style. 😊
Can't wait to hear how it turns out!
I just loved your videos❤❤
You did such an AMAZING job draping this! Another version would be that you do just one big reverse front pleat and bring the rest of the sari to your chest which would leave an even bigger/dramatic loop in the back. With that loop, you can cover you hair/bun for a more traditional look.
I am eagerly waiting for you to do a full Gujarati drape in a silk sari using the sari silhouette where you iron the chest pleats in front 😍
I love your all videos....💝
I love sarees too from my childhood :)
Where do you get your sarees?? They're so so so beautiful!! ♥️♥️

where is the saree from?
I am just wondering how do you learn wear Saree so nicely.
Very Nice♥♥♥♥♥♥
@TiaBhuva do you recommend something for hijabis? I would really appreciate your guidance :)
Burn your hijab, set yourself free.
Pls upload how to pleet the shawl
So gorgeous 😍 yet easy ☺️
Which fabric is this saree??
One question though - I guess walking and stuff like that is possible. But especially when I see this style of draping, where you tuck a little piece of fabric in the back. Isn't it kind of hard when you bend over? Like when you need to pick something up from the ground? :D It could be that the piece at the back just comes out or not? Would you just pin it down too?
That need experience and a little bit of smartness during pinning the pallu
Can you write down the name of the site from where you bought the petticoat?
Very nice
Plz link your patticoat details
You, my dear, is the "Saree Whisperer" 🥰🥰
I enjoyed your indept knowledge and easy to understand videos. 🙏
Haven't done any sarees yet, since the last pre-stitched ill-fitted one from a friend, in which I sat all night afraid to walk around in so much fabric but mostly that it may come apart. 😂😂
You are giving me hope with these videos. Thank you!!! ❤
