running the second half of this course the same time as the first half is amazing
Seriously - the second half of Boston is so much harder. Chebet and Fauble was the only guys on the leaderboard not to positive split
Definitely. I was about 7 mins slower on the second half.
This is nothing. U fool
Although it appears that an even pace is good at achieving a solid effort. A winning effort sometimes requires a negative spit or faster second half. What i mean is that during the latter stages of a race, the prepared athlete should not give way to fatigue but should be prepared to run those last 2 miles the hardest. Thats where victories are achieved.
Congrats to all runners + so happy that Geoffrey Kamworo completed the race. On track of recovering from the injury.
My coach was in this race. He placed 154th in 2:30:58. So proud of that guy. He's a beast
How many people even run this marathon? Like about 200?
@@Jaa_morant nah bro. There were about 30,000 people today
@@magnumman8559 Do you still have to qualify to run Boston?
@@16nowhereman Yes, you have to have a certain marathon time in qualifying marathons (not all marathons count) by your age group.
Bro same my coach ran and got 2:33
Yo you’re videos are so amazing man and your channel is the best coverage of track & field on this whole platform of CZcams. Been following you for about two years now and enjoyed every single one of your videos. Love the channel man and everything you’re doing is appreciated. I run track collegiately and you literally educated me so much more in my own sport lol and you really bring much passion and interest to the whole organization of competition. The track & field family loves you man! Keep doing your thing and we’ll continue the support as you grow more and more brother 💪🏽‼️

I don't know anything about you but I love your channel. When are you going to do an autobiographical video?
@Andy Pham lmao piss off, go troll some nonimportant meaningful comment
Props to Scott. Also he was very respectful for giving credit to Rosario on his long buildup heading to Boston. Years of work at Flagstaff was noted. Such a humble guy, I’m a fan of him!!
THANK YOU for this coverage. Very well done. And the music did not detract from your excellent story-telling.
Team Kenya!!!!Greatest athletic country ever in history.kudos we keep it burning
She just missed out on several spots to be mentioned here but my friend Dakotah Lindwurm is on the rise as a young American marathoner and broke 2:30 as well. She won Grandmas and is a former Hockey Goalie in minnesota! Quite the fun backstory! She led for the start of the race and is known for her huge smile while running!
Following on Strava. Looking forward to seeing her career development. Amazing effort at Boston!
Love the office quote in her strava bio! As fast as Dwight is a huge accomplishment!
Awesome! Definitely looking her up
Thanks for the coverage! The best one for those like me that could not see the whole race. Subscribed!
2:47/km pace after 35km is just mind-blowing!
Still waiting on that video on the 19.80 200m from Kerley and 19.83 season opener from Norman 🔥🔥
If Matthew Boling ran 19.80 seconds for 200 metres the video would certainly have been posted by now !!!
@@wilhelmw3455 how about y’all both stfu and enjoy all the content he’s been putting out
@@wilhelmw3455 Yes - all things equal, it is more impressive if a 21-year-old runs 19.8 than a 26-year-old. Obviously, both are very impressive...
He should also make a vid about the 17 year olds who just broke the under 20 relay WR
@@HedgeFundAnalyst This is true all things being equal and at the age of 21 Matthew Boling is a great talent no doubt about it, but he does receive a disproportionate amount of attention which I hope is good for the sport.
What a great race to watch, definitely a step up from previous years. I think Fauble still has the potential to break some more American records.
Great video and great commentary too with all the facts, times and dates needed, well done.
Congratulations to the Kenyans for a clean sweep in the men's marathon. Congratulations to Jepchirchir 1 and Mary ngugi 3 for making us proud and carrying our Kenyan 🇰🇪 🇰🇪 flag high.
New York, Olympics, Boston in 8 months makes you one of the best marathoners ever
Been watching since 2018. Still the best content
I ran the Boston marathon yesterday and it was indeed amazing!!
Great recap, thank you!
Amazing breakdown. Thanks!
Great recap!! Thanks.
Felicidades para Todos los corredores. Excelente resumen, Gracias!. Motiva
Thanks so much for what you do. These are great videos!
TRP, you rock! The #1 running channel on youtube!!!!!
Nice recap! Thanks!
Love your vid but I'm a bit sad Mary Ngugi didn't even rate a mention getting third-for the second year in a row.
Is she any relation to John Ngugi world cross country champion way back?
No, she's the ex wife to the late Samuel Wanjiru, 2008 Olympic Marathon Champion.
Love your videos bro ❤️
Wow awesome coverage of the Boston marathon, what a great race, haha awesome stuff 😀
Love this you should also review the carifta games a lot of records being broken
Dope recap my man
I love Boston ❤️, sooo proud of my city
Great ride, enjoyed watching
Enjoyed th video very much
Just ran my first marathon on sunday in 4:19:37.
I will run in Boston one day.
Awesome race report!!!
Great video!
Great job!
So cool to see familiar places in my adopted home town under these circumstances, from these camera angles.
Please do a video about the jamaicans girls breaking the 4x100m world u20 record.
Was about to ask 😂. Glad he saw.
Just search youtube
@@djxcel23 we want an analysis and recognition for the girls on a international channel to bring more awareness.
@@datname1939 I would love to see it but unfortunately this guy rarely does videos on sprint performances out side of America 🤦🏻♂️
He will. He said he saw it and it was amazing, then he said stay tuned.
Peace...love...unity
Great video
Yes of all Marathon the Boston Marathon has to be the most iconic and famous ever of all time and always will be winning that is instantaneous Fame and Glory
Thanks 👍
Peres Chepchirchir having back to back win of big marathons. She is great.
She's amazing
That was my 4th in person Boston and fastest by 7 minutes! Was neat to see the elites race, as I was on the course. 10 marathons in 10 years cancer free!!
Congrats. I got a 3 minute course PR. But, man, it hurt! What a day though eh? As Rivs says, if you get to run, ‘we’re the lucky ones’….
Really good men and women coverage!! 👍
thank you for this non clickbait title
Shout out to hiking legend Andrew Skurka's 2:27.59 finish and placing 4th in Masters division.
Great vid
Congratulations 🎊 I ran it in 1990 , Gelindo Bordin of Italy won it in 2:08:19. I was like 3:19
3:19 is still very respectable... 4:50/km for 42.6km isn't easy! Just inhuman how they maintain sub 3:00/km for entire marathons.
Am a Kenyan in 🇺🇸, I am proud my guys hit the ground and thank you US!
Same splits in a marathon is absurd!!!!
It was I.N.S.A.N.E 🔥🔥🔥
It was a beautiful day and the people were hyped.
If times from Boston count (and Fauble's is shown), Meb, Ryan Hall, and Bill Rodgers all belong on this list above Fauble. Great time for him, though.
Ethiopia have their work cut out. Kenya seem to be pumping them at all the big events recently.
Finally some distance running !!!
I was incredibly impressed by the father pushing his child in the wheelchair at near pace of the women. Amazing athletes and people all around.
My track coach was in this marathon!
At 5:32 he shows a list of the top ten American marathoners. However Elkanah Kibet, who is another American marathoner ran a time of 2:09:07 which should put hom on the bottom of this list instead of Meb Keflezighi. Not a big deal but still significant to be top ten for Kibet.
Peres should be crowned already as the all time greatest female athlete, she achieved all that in 8 months. Also Edna is a legend
My friend does this race. I heart her and wish that she would return.
I wish you'd make a video on the NCAA 1500m record being taken down by Eliud kipsang, it was a beautiful race, I wish you'd watch it
Dick Beardsley needs to be there at 5:33 he ran 2:08:53 in 1982 Boston Marathon.
This is correct-he was second to Al Salazar's 2:08:51
i loved when it" when it busted wide open"
Way to go Kenya! 💫💫💫
can't wait till Letesenbet Gidey runs her first marathon 😊
2:12 haha
I qualified and ran Boston in '82.(Was way too hot, but I finished.). I notice the professional mens and especially professional women competitors have become more speed/endurance - oriented and I think(the professional women) have a more competitive edge when they competed in 2022's BostonMarathon.
The depth of Kenyan Marathoners is just phenomenal.
We can now safely conclude that a major marathon without the fastest Kenyan runners is not a marathon worth its salt.
Congrats Boston Marathon and kudos to the winners,(mostly Kenyans BTW) who almost made a clean sweep of the top 3 slots in both men and women races with the exception of the Ethiopian.
There's no no doubt Kenya have the edge over Ethiopia at the moment. My question to you is who is the second best marathoner in the worlds right now? Could be any of 5 other Kenyans I think.
@@mathieudube6907
Birhanu Legese according to world rankings.
But I think that is debatable. Boston is not an easy course.
However, the Olympics and the World marathon are the best places to witness these runners in action. I'm my opinion, it is only Kipchoge's No.1 ranking that cannot be contested..
@@iam6785 Legese horribly out of form like most of the Ethiopians. Recon Cherono has a claim
@@mathieudube6907
Yeah,most likely.
Thanks for the vid. I thought Eliud Kipchoge was planning on doing all the main marathons this year, did something happen that made him pull out?
No sane person would attempt to contest 6 marathon majors in a single calender year assuming they would run flat out for all of them. Professionals tend to only race 2 or 3 marathons a year at the most and kipchoge is no different. It has been noted kipchoge would try the feat and win all 6 in the next year or 2 with ny and boston left
he said he wants to run all six abbott marathon majors before his career is over, not all in one year (that just leaves Boston and NY btw). it takes professional marathon runners months to prepare for a race. No way he would compete here so soon after Tokyo.
@@mdavidom5903 See, I knew it took ages to prepare so I was shocked when I'd heard. That makes way more sense. So he's probably going to aim for the New York one in November and then next year's Boston to round out winning them all?
@@saetharion that would be my guess if all goes well...keep in mind he also wants to compete in the next Olympics.
@@mdavidom5903 Wait seriously? That's... incredible. Damn.
An all time women’s finish. 👏
Edna Kiplagat is my idol.
Kenya is producing some incredible marathon runners in volume currently
Its just not the same without kipchoge
Let's go
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nice
Yooooooo you got it messed up. Ryan hall ran 2:04:58 at Boston to become the fastest American over the marathon distance.
Nell Rojas is amazing
There were some great Ethiopian runners (Birhanu Legese, Sisay Lemma, Lemi Berhanu, Lelisa Desisa, Kinde Atanaw, etc.) competing on the men's side but none of them finished with a fast time. I wonder why.
Was also kind of surprised at Kamworor’s time though I don’t know if he fully recovered from his injury.
@@IT_Farhan yes, I expected a faster time from Kamworor who trains with Eliud Kipchoge.
Congrats to all Runners! But just FYI Ryan Hall ran 2:04:58 at Boston in 2011 making him the fastest American Marathon Runner.
True but with an * - Doesn’t count because Boston is a net downhill course = not eligible for records
I would love to see peres jepchirchir run Chicago marathon.
2:15 I predict
Wait. What's the situation with the guy pushing the woman at 2:01? Did they finish the race like that?
Why does CJ Albertson want to lead like that again?
People only tell themselves they don’t want to lead.
screen time
@History is absolutely bananas yes if he waited for downhills to be over his time would be far worse
@@diniaadil6154 Don't make it sound like he "faded to a 2:10 marathon" is for screen time ... ignorant fool. He beat Kamoror.
5 minutes of fame
You should do a video on Kipsang’s insane kick to break the NCAA 1500m record!
The ai escalated google labs
I wonder how much faster CJ could run if ran a little smarter
No disrespect cuz this woman is far greater at running than I'll ever be, but jepchirchir's running form looks so wild lol. Wondering if she could go faster if she improved her running efficiency
Yah
What happened to Geoffrey Kirui
Love how you spend 95% of the video talking about the Mens event and just brush over the Womens events
Without u, i would have no idea what happened in boston
Was Kiochoge supposed to run this for his marathon tour??
Wtf r u talking about?
The pacesetter got quite a lot of attention.
How come you didn’t talk about me? I at least finished in the top 15%. That’s not to shabby Lol
How can you count Fauble’s 2:08 and not Hall’s 2:04???
I wonder if Sen Kirsten Sinema ran in the ‘22 Boston marathon
Kade Flatts 1:47
Maybe next year, Kipchoge will run. Apparently the guy gets better with age.
You should see the Under20 4x100m women new world record.
The Boston Marathon is older than Australia. That officially began in 1901.
