Nascar please put the horsepower back into these cars, they look like they're stuck in first gear!
The 8 inchers yesterday were only 7mph slower than the Coke 600 pole, and these are only 5.5mph slower. And since this is just testing, the real thing on this package would be faster than we have here.
@@WynnofThule Only 5 mph average speed slower than an already super slow package from last year... Yeah, that's just fine.... Also in case you haven't noticed from racing history, 5mph gain or loss in a year is a big freaking deal.
Are these ARCA cars or Go-Karts? Because these things are stupid slow đ
@@WastdTrashPanda it's big in your regular year to year, but when it comes to big regulation changes in racing series', it's far from some momental loss
This car with the 2011-2014 package would be insane
670hp, 4 or 5 inch spoiler, please nascar, make it happen
No. 950 or no deal
1320crusier 950 is way to high. I say 750 hp is perfect
@@Mattyice2000 with the new rear diffuser Iâd say 3-5 inch spoiler at 600-700 hp would make a great intermediate package
950 Horsepower and a BEEG spoiler
I say unlimited horsepower, with a 3 inch spoiler, no splitter, no diffuser, and then they would have about the same rules package as they did in 1985 when Bill Elliott ran 205 at Daytona in a Thunderbird with manufacturer sheet metal.
Still think people donât realize this is a test, when the 550 was first introduced and they tested it than remember how different it looked compared to what we got?
That's true
Itâs because people are full of shit and they think they know everything that will happen based off of what was on track yesterday and today.
Yes,people are giving this car so much hate when itâs a test. The car isnât going to be perfect right when it launches.NASCAR still has three months to make changes to the car.
@Nate Hubbard Agreed
With the added downforce there should be more power give them all 750 lets see what this car can do
Actually they have 900 hp
@@legorobotics1017 right now they testing 580 hp package. Yesterday was 550hp with 8cinch spoiler. Now 580 with 7 inch spoiler
I donât think itâs actually the 30hp bump. It should be the same output from the engine but the loss of drag from the shorter spoiler is equivalent to 30hp
@@legorobotics1017 no itâs 550-600. Not even close to 900
@@HorseFromHell 2014 they had 950
Idk what ho they're running, but they better pick a higher package since they're running the oval flat in this test, that's rookie street stock ish not cup racing.
They're not using vehicle/package height for down force. That comes primarily from the front and diffusers at the rear.
At least the car looks good, thatâs about it for me. I would love the drivers raw input on this cars with out having nascar policing them on their honest opinions.
NASCAR is ever gonna learn I guess. Aero push is impossible to get rid of unless you have a ton of hp and no downforce
They could get rid of it if they slowed the cars and reduced the handling/down force. At that point mechanical grip would be more viable setup option
These cars visually look 10-15 mph slower than even the 550 hp package the gen 6 had. If this is the package we're going y be racing, it's hard to get excited about it..
Which makes me really sad to say
@Azer_TM yes they are pushing, they are wide open, watch the in car
I know this is testing but it does not give me any hope. Looks like everyone is running flat out and not really able to pass.
Still not a fan of new number placement
Who cares about the damn number placement, good grief
@@truckercowboyed2638 People can have preferences for things. Get over it.
Thats fine, i hope it grows on you eventually. I like it, but i wish teams could go back and fourth with it
@@HunkerDownDawgs94 people can absolutely have preferences but it seems like all people bitch about these days is the rules package and the number placement. People just need to try and appreciate what we have.
@@JP_Stoeffler but why do they have to change every single goddamn thing? Why does nascar think that the only way to improve the sport is to do something radically different? Not once have they ever decided to do something that worked really good before. Why donât they run a package that is similar to the 2014 package, when the racing was awesome and the cars looked good? Why not something similar to 2005 when they were the second biggest sport in the US? I agree that people are too sensitive about the number, but on the other hand, how can people defend the stance of all change is good change. âOh, you lost your arm? Well all change is good change, have fun opening jars.â It doesnât and shouldnât work like that, but apparently Steve Phelps thinks otherwise.
31.5. Not even fast enough to take the pole in Days of Thunder...... smh.
Sheeeewwww how bout that light hitting the chrome on the new RFK6đ
I am excited for this new car and a more equal field. While I realize this is only testing it reminds me of the race I attended in Vegas. Not something I would do again until the cars have more speed and can pass. I hope NASCAR can find the balance of speed and competition.
balance isn't what nascar is historically, and shouldn't be.
The speed looks fine when you play the video at x2 speed
Looks almost perfect at x1.25 lol
True
1.5 looks better. And they sound like a real car. The currwnt set up sounds like theyre down a cylinder.
Thanks to @nascar higher-ups for adding a butt-load of road course and short track races to the schedule! This mile n a half crap is going to be unwatchable
Gotta play it at 1.25 speed to make it seem like there going anywhere.
Wasn't that long ago when they were charging into the corners at almost 210 mph or even faster, now its 175ish all the way around đ
They never even came close to 210 at Charlotte
218 mph into turn 1 at Michigan in 2018. 207 mph at Las Vegas!! We will never see that greatness ever again in this series :(
@Azer_TM The cars are running flat out, they're literally being pushed as fast as they can go.
Iâm not a professional race car driver by no means, simply a lifelong nascar fan but this canât be any fun for the drivers now.
What do you mean?
Like just testing?
I veterans that tested these cars have said these are a bit more unpredictable in terms of when it gets loose and they love that this car puts the responsibility back in the drivers hand and not the air around you when cars are using it.
So I'm sure they're enjoying that they have to wheel the car again.
Low HP is terrible forced racing.
Hold your judgment until the Checkered Flag at the Daytona 500.
I was commenting on how slow they are now
For all the people complaining about the package they're running, I don't see this being the permanent package for intermediates. I would have to assume they're running a slower package so the drivers can learn to drive the new car. These things are a handful according to drivers. I assume that once the learning curve is passed, the package will get better
Itâs gonna take me a really long time to get used to the number placement.
When it folds in 10 years it's going to be even tougher.
@@VoodooDangerbird you're funny
Sport wonât last another 10 years definitely
@@andyrios2367 because they moved the numbers
They need to end the Playoffs period. The sport went down after 2003 when they started The Chase with 10 cars going last 10 races for the championship. Big mistake.
I don't care if they're slower. I want to see a good race. I want to see drivers make all of the difference by man handling a race car. I say give them power and take away grip with narrower tires.
This is literally gonna be Jackson Storm's next gen racers
Except theyre slower
@@LETSTALKENTERTAINMENT lap times from yesterday were about 6 seconds slower than last year

I just wanna say, it is so nice to see them running the full Charlotte oval. The Roval is neat for sure, but just seeing them zip around there at full throttle like this just warms my heart.
i prefer the roval, on the oval it sounds like they go the same RPM all the way around. Gonna put me to sleep. no shifting, no change in tone...
The roval was cool the first time. It sucks nowâŠ..
nascar when 90% of your fans say dont move the numbers, DONT MOVE THE NUMBERS!!!!!!!
Shut up itâs a sticker
Thank you for the sharing of the Good Next Gen cars out of in full force in Charlotte M S/ NASCAR video
The 600 is gonna be the coke 24 hour as slow as the next gen is omg

can't pass, can't race, too slow, just what we want to see (NOT)!
They should have moved the roof number forward too. Half way down the windshield would work. Need more room for roof sponsors.
NASCAR: "Write that down!"
Never gonna know how they race until a real race....pitstops are gonna be interesting
This is literally gonna be Cars 3 irlđ€Ł
Hahaha forreal the camaro looks exactly like mcqueen hahahaha
without the higher top speed
Do a 5 old vs 5 next gen race...love to see that...đ
What are the times between makes/teams?
Stenhouse was running wide open at charlotte, not a good sign.
That #6 car looks good out front
Blaney running this next gen!! Major aero push with these cars, but drafing seems to have more effect to allow the cars to pull back up.
As Larry Renyolds explained, the number has been moved forward to allow for more room for sponsor logos on the door since the rear quarter panel is so much shorter!!! Makes sense, but then, make bigger numbers on top so we can see what car it is!!! đ€· #2. I realize they are just testing and may not have a back- up car available there. So, they don't want to take a chance of smashing this one up. But, what good is a single file run around the track if they don't push it to see how it will handle in traffic???? Or how it handles close to the wall, or hugging the lowest lane or blocking??? This looks like a Sunday drive!!! And, if this is top speed driving, Nascar is going the wrong way for the fans. Single file racing is a big snorefest for the fans!!!! Jmho!!!
Harvick's car looks like a real mustang. good job
This is going to suck if they never lift frickin plate racing.
They lift on a full run. Ross just said so
They look slow
@@Ls_swap211 racing isn't all about speed
They are slow, Xfinity cars are faster
We'll see next year dude
Take the spoiler off and make the drivers work for wins.
The spoiler isnât the problem when manufacturers made NASCAR lower the cars it made the racing worse.
Competition comes from using the brake pedal, they need to increase the horsepower
When was this? I'm confused because they'll have the Christmas light tours on the track tomorrow night... No way they setup in a day.
Lights are in the stands
I know a lot of folks are upset with this next gen car, the one lug wheel and even the number placement but can we talk about the fact that these cars are slower?!?! The best speed during these tests so far is 173. Earlier this year with the gen 6 it was 180. NASCAR is getting slower!!!!
Itâs awful. Slower than arca. Unbelievable how far this series has fallen.
Lol it happens with every Next Gen process.. the first ones will be slow. Give it some time for the engineers and drivers to get a feel for them and they'll start getting quicker. đ
173? It looks like they are barely getting 150!
@@jeremyvoegeli562 I know right?!?! I was watching the live stream and could visually tell that these cars looked slow. That's when I started researching the actual data and learned the speeds and the differences.
Should just cancel nascar and switch to imsa road courses. They have some hardcore battles with up to date machines.
Is this 580 package they where talking about to help with heat up horsepower to 670
wow these r slow
Great looking Car!!!
Everyone on comment:đ
Yâall know this is a test right? They sent out there trying to pass and draft by each other, they are gathering data
Been following nascar since the 70's and now to see different horse power for different tracks is BS.dirty the car up (less areo) and give them back the horse power and let them go at it.
Wow, Brad showed some speed right there. Thatâs a good sign
That wasn't speed, that was clear air. Every time someone got close to him they lost the nose.
Not a big fan of the number placement, but it does look less out of place in full racing livery, rather than in practice spec. But with that said, I love the new car itself!
Australian Super Car racing has the car # about â12â x 12â in the the rear quarter glass. Leaving the entire side of the car available for easily readable sponsorship placement
@@jamesmcnauliv4527 This isn't Australian Super Car racing, fyi
not a fan of the number placement or the sound the cars are making on the track.
Seeing a front still picture all the makes are at different heights. Or is that an optical illusion?
Bring back the damn 900 + back
The number placement looks odd after 70 years of it being on the doors.
The cars look and sound very slow, which is obviously @NASCAR'S goal, so they should be very happy with themselves.
The goal is good racing, who cares how slow they look its obvious these cars in fact will race better and be harder to handle...that means driver input will matter.....and there's been plenty of times the number was not on the door....some even towards the rear quarter panel...
@@truckercowboyed2638
Wow, if you think following the leader in an aero-dependent car that doesn't have enough power to pass, where clean air and track position is king, is good racing, then you should love what we've been seeing over the past decade, and will continue to see with the new one-size fits-all go-carts next year.
And would you be kind enough to show me a Cup car with the numbers not on the doors.
@@RealJohnWayne all star race of this year they had numbers placed farther back
Rn they are still testing they don't wanna wreck these cars yet so they are playing it safe and only giving like 40% just wait until next year unless these owners say these vehicles are more expensive be more careful

Someone always has to state the obvious if you don't spell it out for them, so here you go, "in a regular season points race" how's that? đ€Šââïž
It would be nice to have more informationâŠ. like next gen speeds compared to last gen . Speeds at lap 1, 5 , 10 âŠâŠ. .
Have they improved the issues with heat, steering, âŠ.
Some what they tried a different package today 580 package to see if that will help with heat
@@keeganracer8300 They cut the spoiler down 1 inch, that difference in height is like "adding 30HP"...
They sound just like a gen 4 and they aren't as planted as the gen 6, this car looks amazing too... đ
Too much negativity regarding the new car. But I'm with you brother, I think we just have to wait and see and let it all shake out!
They do have that classic sound to them, hopefully they race as good as they sound
@nascar why is the inside wall missing on the backstretch? That is not safe.
I think because of the roval configuration.
Cut more spoiler off.
Looks like aero push will still be a thing
They should set up a race with these, 100 miles or so. See how they do over time and if they can pass for the lead. Race conditions
NASCAR on FOX's "Crank It Up" is gonna be epic lol
I will never get over the number placement, it looks so bad.
Boohoo
So has Nascar addressed to airflow(lack there of) in the driver's compartment?
Not very informed ru? They spent the entire first day cutting holes in the car.
Still too much downforce on the rear. Everyone pushing up the track when they are behind a car. Cut the spoiler to 3 inches and balance out the aero.
That would put the car back in the driver's hands.
Not really a complaint, but is the nose not sucked to the ground like the old Gen 6 cars? It looks like there is more ground clearance to the splitter with this car. It may be an optical illusion.
Wow when the 12 got behind the 22 is was like a dump truck with the front of the car loosing front down force. More horses would help this a bit. Cause he would be going fast enough to take air off the spoiler.
Been a fan since I was in a car seat⊠this looks more like iracing rookie street stocks than nascar, but hey the 1.5 mile races couldnât get any worse rightâŠ? RightâŠ?
Sounds like a bunch of V6âs flyin by
Blaney getting underneath Harvick in the corner is very promising
Does anyone know the lap time difference on these cars compared to the gen 6
The lap times from yesterday wouldâve qualified like 30th in this yearâs Coke 600
Itâs slower but you canât compare them because this is a test and teams are still figuring out the car
Spec racing is cool in Vintage
Maybe its just me, but the cars seem to have a different exhaust sound
I'd understand if they moved the numbers back instead of forward
It looks terrible. And way slow
Last time the next gen tested at Charlotte oval looked way quicker
Has Kyle Busch driven these next gen cars is it only 1 driver per team how does this work I've only seen Denny Hamlin drive in group tests Martin truex Jr tested early on im surprised teams aren't letting every driver on their team get a day
32 second laps
holy they actually sound good
Major areo effect. Need less downforce and a little more hp. Maybe the short track hp and less downforce then that even.. donât need it. These cars have mechanical grip.
You're forgetting a couple of things though. You can't just put the same horsepower and down force package from the short track last year on this car. These cars are symmetrical, higher off the ground, the side skirts and splitter is pretty much gone. This car has a lot less aero force compared to the gen 6, also the tires maybe wider on this car, but very little sidewall, which can take away grip. This car pretty much lost all of it's side force compared to the Gen 6. All the things, i've mentioned is why we've been seeing a lot more self spins, because in reality these cars don't have all the downforce/grip the other cars did. Do I think it needs more power and maybe a little smaller spoiler yes, but just copying and pasting a package from the Gen 6 on to this car very likely won't work.
@@Corky3D i was thinking this years shirt track package all the way around. But maybe a little more downforce. Hopefully they update them soon. On iracing they drive like glue on the road on these tracks
I know some people don't like the placement of the number. We are in 2021; why keep the same? Why is it so wrong to try something new? @ the end of the day will not change racing, and that's what we want to see-not picking on anyone, just thinking out loud. I'm trying to see it from different perspectives.
Probably still full throttle all the way around
I saw flames on the 6 car getting back onto the front and back stretch. Might be some lifting going on.
Full force and full throttle... This season is going to be atrocious if they don't increase the horsepower at least a little.
I just took a hour long nap during 10 minutes of no passing.
why do they look....slower?
New cars look like a hatchback with the short trunk lid
I see some passing ,people need to give these cars a chance.
Wonât be impressed until lap record are broken
Man the number placement is stupid Nascar
Nascar... putting money ahead of the sport's history and fans. Again. This is not a good direction.
@Crompy 88 Having an opinion doesn't mean I stop liking racing, kid.
@Crompy 88 How can you even hear me with your head so far up Nascar's ass?
NASCAR Please bring back the Brickyard 400!!!! U can add your Indy road course but please bring the Bricks Back!!!!
That 6 car looks to be in the game now.
Is Cory lajoe hauler there
So they can practice to practice. But can't practice for a race. That makes sense. Figure it out Nascar.
They sound so loud for only 550hp
We just got an early preview of Stewart Haas getting its ass handed to it by the dominant Ford teamâŠ
Are they going as slow as they look?
Yes. Yes they are. And I wouldn't watch a race like this if they paid me. Snoozefest
No
I hate the wide open all the time thing
