Is a Lexus GS350 a good car to buy?

  • I’ve owned this 09 GS350 less than a year but it has been a blast to have. Haven’t had any mechanical issues other than regular maintenance. The only place that will hurt the wallet is fuel, a V6 with a big fuel tank, other than it’s a solid reliable vehicle.

@@GroupBEJ25 you’re right about the maintenance. I just had the coolant flushed and the brake lines flushed when I had some extra money. I keep the oil changed in it always and run 5w 30 full synthetic the same as my maxima. Once in a while I have to add a quart usually right before an oil change. I thought it was the pcv valve but my mechanic said it was ok. I did a little research on some gs 350 sites for that year and people said it was the design of the motor that causes it to burn a little oil. Does yours burn any? It’s not serious though. I love this car so much and my wife loves it. She always gets compliments on it and it’s 13 years old. I live in the north east so the all wheel drive is awesome in the snow. It drives like my old pathfinder did. Yes the maximas are awesome cars. I love those older ones too. I had a ‘05 that I put 220,000 miles on it because my job was so far (160 miles a day) and only had to replace the transmission at 150,000 miles. But I used to fly in that car. I baby my 2011 I have now , it has 72,000 miles on it garage kept. I’m on a fixed income now so I have to make them last. I still love you car I love the white. It looks good.

Funny you mention that my first Lexus was a 2007 Lexus IS250. Loved the way it looked but fell short on engine reason why I had to get rid of it carbon build up results to engine failure. I heard they took care of that in the later years. Yes unfortunately this GS generation didn’t get a lot of love. I sort of like it myself though especially the headlight and tail lights reminiscing the previous gen. I do have to agree the last generation is probably the best.
