- In this video, I show you how to tie and rig the deadliest DOUBLE jig rig for crappie fishing. This is the best crappie fishing setup, whether you plan to use a slip cork, or not. I prefer this method under a slip cork for crappie fishing, you are able to fish 2 different depths at the same time, allowing your baits to stay in the strike zone longer, making your chances of catching and finding a crappie even greater.

@@903fishing I'm also curious why you use a barrel swivel and leader for crappie? I get it for catfish that death roll, but why crappie? (i've used swivel/leader and direct tie to jig in the past, doesn't particularly seem to matter with crappie imo.....but then again i've never used braid so maybe that's the difference).
@@jschro446 I use braid and a barrel swivel because I fish heavy structure here in Texas. Whether I am fishing brush 20ft deep or 2 feet deep in the creeks, either way I will get hung up at some point. Lots of logs jams as well. So when I do get hung up, I either break off at the hook/jig head, or where the mono meets the barrel swivel. So when I do break off, I am only having to re tie the hook and leader vs a whole new setup.

Favorite video for 75k contest. Great instructional video. Super helpful in catching more crappie. I always used spring type bobbers. Never again. This setup allows you to easily change depths and find where these crappie sit in the water column. I have taught my kids how to use this technique. Slip cork has become our favorite way to fish for crappie. Something about watching that cork sink. Absolutely love the channel.

I put a bead on the bottom of the bobber also to assure the bobber works freely.

What jigheads do you use I tried finding the ones in a previous video but they changed part numbers

Don't use the same color Jig on top and bottom. At 75 years old I may have caught as many crappie as 903 I think, maybe not. Don't ask me why but for me I just have better luck with two different colors.

What is the advantage of running braid here? I feel like having to use that swivel is actually a disadvantage compared to fishing mono or flouro straight. I mainly fish saltwater so i use braid constantly but the one freshwater fish i love is crappie and i just run 4 or 6 pound mono. I am sure it works i just don't see the advantage to braid in this application.
1. Bobber stop don’t cinch down on mono near as well as braid. 2. When you break off, and you will since you are fishing structure most of the time, your mono will break from your barrel swivel, and or just the hook from the mono. You must be from up north if you are using 4-6 pound mono. In Texas I’m fishing heavy brush and trees. I would break off and have to re tie my whole setup every time I got hung up.
