Hoooooo... I'm gonna like this. I loved this game, but I suck at multitasking in real time, I prefer games where I can pause and meticulously plan my strategy. Seeing you do it, it makes the Tau looks super badass.

My favourite tactic was the Kauyon strategy, getting the high ground and vast visibility to boil any incoming threat from miles away, while using stealth suit for reconnaissance/destruction of artillery and infrastructure. I also used mines to extend visibility, although I never quite got around to use vehicles and kroot units. I was at a difficulty that allowed it, but I always hit a wall micro management-wise. The carnage during the main Ork base assault in Soulstorm was a thing to behold. The other strategy did allow for the very mighty vehicle with a rail gun and high mobility, and it is devastating, but I prefer solid infantry to powerful vehicle. With the Eldar, I loved teleporting Fire Dragons through webway to melt the enemy base while their army was occupied with my "main" force. I prefer the lance to the hammer. Keeping the Tau out of melee can be a little difficult with tricky opponents, but that's why you have covering fire and recon teams able to mark a unit for death rather quickly. But with a pause button, I'll endeavor to use the Kroot more effectively, especially the special units like the krrot dog, which I am told are extremely good infantry munchers, either killing them or disrupting them.
which area did you attack? Because a common trap in the tau campaign specifically is that attacking the 1 strength ork region, results in gorgutz in the adjacent region reinforcing the region, causing him to rush your base pretty much straight away, which is lethal for tau with no honour guard units or upgrade
Man I hated the Necron lord, always needing to leave a team at the base in case it revives itself (and it will) so it won’t wreck my base when the main force is away
Just got back into this game, i am a long time SM player but wanted to venture out and try something new. I picked the Tau but not feeling all the auxiliaries they have so I only use Tau forces. The Battlesuits are beast and the Stealth teams are killers but my fav are the Hammerheads, that railgun puts out a level of hurt that makes me laugh 🤣. The low cost for Stealth teams seems unfair for the amount of damage they do too. I do love WH40K!!!

On maps where you struggle the most against attacks on your territories in the enemy turn, a good, tried and tested solution is to build the Mont'Ka and x3 rax, so you can immediately deploy x3 XV9 Crisis Suits at the same time (they build very fast) in addition to e.g. Stealthsuits (for their EMP nades), or even Hammerheads, provided you have enough economy, *BEFORE* you destroy enemy HQ. That way, you have the infrastructure to quickly deploy a scary, T3 T'au counter-offensive very quickly.

I followed all the steps you did but the Necrons are so strong, the Necron Lord just keeps on reviving and I just get blasted by never-ending waves. Once the beatles make it to my base i know that its over. Im really struggling in the game. All factions are able to immediately attack my base with big waves - the lvl 1 orks on the left (although I was able to defeat them), the lvl 6 eldars above the lvl 1 ork territory, and this lvl 5 necron territory. I dont know if I should acceot defeats or restart the campaign since its still the beginning, but losing ao early in the game isnt reassuring at all.
I just beat Dawn of War and Winter Assault on Hard. Trying out Tau for the first time (also on Hard), and I just don't understand this game. I don't know how the fuck you can even think about attacking a strength 5 province on your first turn. I can't even beat the Orks in the strength 1 province... Even though it's strength 1 and there is no Gorgutz or honor guard, Gorgutz himself manages to charge my base with 2 packs of sluggas or stormboys in the first minute of the game before I can even make two listening posts. I don't know if this is a Tau problem or what, but I really wanted to play as Tau for this, and yet the game is telling me it's not possible. I have tried attacking Agamar Desert 4 times now and it's always the same thing, but I don't see anywhere else to go. If I can't take on a level 1 province, anything higher is suicide.
The trick with that lvl one map is to kite Gorgutz and the other attackers around keeping them at range while your builders stabilize the base. If you can get through that initial attack the rest is fairly smooth sailing. Hope that helps.
At game start immediately build a generator. Meanwhile, start planting "Snare Traps" using your Commander, it will seriously slow down Gorgutz and his boyz. Next kite around gorgutz to defeat him. If you can't seem to overcome gorgutz, create Vespid Stingwings from your base. (They can keep Gorgutz busy while your commander gun him down.)

Interesting, I was attacked 30 seconds after the map started and was constantly attacked untill I won.
Same everytime it try to attack a region. I get blitzkrieged so hard i hardly have timr to deploy proper forces. Let alone defend
@@beerten202 Best thing is to only defend the Command Point, However the AI does not take unit losses regardless if you kill 1 or 1000000 troops

Just got back into this game, i am a long time SM player but wanted to venture out and try something new. I picked the Tau but not feeling all the auxiliaries they have so I only use Tau forces. It's done by holding down "Shift" while giving orders

The tau seem to yhard to play on a bigger map. Get to the province that allows you to start with the perk to start with more resources
Also make kroots to keep them off you. Only way to start
