- Communal drinking is a vital part of Filipino culture. From birthdays parties to big town fiestas, Filipinos just can’t seem to get together without having drinks on the table. However, believe it or not, amidst what may seem like utter CHAOS... lies an age old ORDER. Welcome to Philippines 101... and this is Philippine Drinking Etiquette.

there's also the two faced member in the session, coy and quiet at first but once the alcohol hits, the inner demon emerges with no limits
Sheesh the rhymes
And this is me hahaha i feel so seen
I think you are the Werewolf based on the meaning/description provided in the video.
As a Filipino, I am proud of this country from it's comedy. ❤️😆
This skit is well written. Balance of information, education and comedy. Noisely dun meyt, boogat.
2:02 The color grading in the characteristics part is 🔥
in the 90s, the "escape artist" was referred to as "the ninja". plus, there's also "the david blaine" (opposite of the drunken master) who sneakily tosses his drink because he's a lightweight.
Lovin' how ridiculously accurate this is. Even the COVID Russian roulette was very much on point. Atay. Made my day! 🍺
I think we could add not to let the wine glass stay too long from queue as a drinking etiquette. And from the type of drinkers, I think you can add the 1.The "HOST/BANKER" - the one who host or the one who likes to tell stories, gossips and anything for him/her to be the center of attention. 2. The "TAKUZA" - the one who will sit with you around the table then moments later will be picked up by his wife 😆
Also:
The Intellectual:. Starts to spout science, philosophy, or politics IN ENGLISH. Not me though. Im more of an insufferable karaoke machine 😅
4:43 Buwahahahaha! Ninong Bogart! Hahahaha😅🤣😂
4:43 a rare bogart speaking straight tagalog 🤣🤣🤣
This needs more views! This is legit funny! 😂
Your voice is mix with late Steve Erwin and Sir David Attenborough. I like it. You are funny too.
This is absolute gold. Thanks for making my day!
You are welcome :) hope you can share as well. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
@@PAPERBUGTV shared on all my social media. Much love!
Whenever I went to a Pinoy party, celebration, or home visit with Mrs. Rick I was automatically handed a glass or beer can when I walked in the door. Being a total, absolute, never-in-my-lifetime non-drinker, it was easy for me to wave it off and say, "Salamat, but no." Took about a decade for everyone to finally remember that the white guy married into the family didn't drink alcohol. They had never seen that before in an American, let alone a Navy sailor. 😁😁
I missed video clips like these from Bogart the Explorer.. I hope to see more clips like these..
Well done mate! Tagay na bai 😱🤣
The lads! I love it! Good job, mga pares!
YESSSS ANOTHER UPLOAD! Happy New Year PaperbugTV!! 🎇

@@PAPERBUGTV This is the byfar the num 1 etiquette/uso during New Year reveleries. Hapoy New Year PaperbugTV
Glad to see Bogart again cheers mate
To the non-filipino viewers:
1. The characters shown here are not strictly limited to 1 person only, as often there are 2 or more who share the characteristics shown. There are some who show mixture of both, and it is also possible for any one person to experience these "roles" at various points in life, and even sometimes in 1 drinking session.
2. Pulutan can be very creative. The best one I've seen is native chicken egg omelete with cheap corn chips.
3. Aside from the various characters seen in the drinking table, something equally fascinating is the topic. It can be observed how there is a steady change from simple jokes, to various situational problems, to politics. However, it seems to be a consensus to stop the session once the topic shifts to the supernatural, or fecal mater.
Happy New Year!!
THIS DESERVES MORE VIEWS

There's also the "BUTLER" - The most sober person of the group who has the capacity to hold back drinking too much because he has to take everyone home safely.

Covid days we still do the "tagay". Its kinda russian rollete cause every month at work we have a mandatory covid test. You could out of work for 15days to a month if tested positive.
This is so accurate and funny I can’t 😂😂😂
What the...😂😂natatawa nlng ako bigla 100% accurate tlga to pagdating sa inuman sa pinas haha
Bogart you forgot the 3 elbow bottle tap before cracking that cap to activate that alcohol more.
Eyyy it meeeee. Tara shat!
LOL!!! All too true. Booze and 'tagay' sessions take on a more authentic (and rustic) role when pursued outdoors, a la 'bangketa', on a bangketa, or around a round table w/ monoblocks, after merienda or before sundown, but also after breakfast or at any other undesignated hour of the day.
Don't forget to provide at least one communal 'tinidor'/'kutsara' and the requisite condiments to accompany the 'pulutan' ('sili'/'kalamansi'/'toyo'), as well as the extra packs of 'yosi' (i.e., cigarettes, pula man o menthol, it won't matter when you're all lasing!) as a courtesy to all those who partake... lalo pa kung ikaw ang sponsor!
this is amazing
Please continue
Solid nung Ninong Ry impersonation sa 4:36!! 😆😆
Sinbing nini bungnao! Lol 🤣🤣🤣
Kudos! International representation on what are the individual roles of the participant during TAGAY😂
Crickey!!! Its a dhame everytime I am in the Phils I dont experience this part of Filo culture...I need drinking partners!!! Thanks for sharing 🤙🏼 Im back in the Phils for the Fiba World cup. Go Gilas!! And Tall blacks 😁
Chur
its more common but not exclusive to rural areas, ghetto and young people... my father frowns upon this practice.
Haha, lets drink🍺🍺🍻, we dont like beer here,,, we like strong Rhum, 80% proof alcohol😂😂😂😂cheers.
Hahahaha lupit ng editing nyo
The tuna and skyflakes combo of the runner 👌
If ever you decide to do a second part of this.
Heres a couple of more characters I believe should be added.
The Maniac: This character will try to engage in sexual activities once intoxicated regardless of gender, species or objects..
The Linguist: A character that is compelled to speak English during the session. One thing to note about this individual is that he may speak other languages too regardless if it is a non existent language.
The Britanica: This person who has the ability to answer every question under the sun. He is able to conjure up solutions that would would put every politician to shame.
The Conspiracy theorist: A character that can validate certain unanswered theories and can validates that he or she or his close friend has experienced it.
Ah totoo yan. Pero mostly nung earlier generation. Mga batang 70s to 80s ganyan ang drinking session.
I agree, there's the Linguists(our town would call them 'scholar', basically the same), and also there's the one that can speak an UNKNOWN language that no one can ever comprehend. (maybe an alien-like language) We just don't know what to call them. If ever you have any names for them, feel free to reply.. 😅
I was a Britannica and a KungPu (Kung pumulutan wagas) Master at the same time back then. I am now sober for 3 years.
the "maniac" you mean "perv"?
Happy Nyonyer!
"for a safe and Devil-free session" this one got me hahaha
It's because once you throw the alcohol away they will say "para sa demonyo" ("for the demon"). I think it derived from the time Filipinos drink lambanog back in the day. My hypothetical reasoning for this is because once the lambanog was distilled the high alcohol content (which results in blindness or death) goes on top of the bottle, so they throw that away.
😅😅😅😅😅 kumplito jud kaayo ...
Ang galing nmn mag ducoment boss wahahahhahahah dami ko tawa...parang David attenborough ng pinas
The best
Hah❤😂😂 luv it!
Instant classic
You forgot the drama king/queen who often ends up crying in the middle of the session
This is some quality shit. Production, content and that buttcrack at the end. Tangina lupet!
tara pre, tagay na!
Totoo lahat yan! Hahaha. Ako yung escape artist hehehe
Ninong Ry! 😂😂 TangIna! Hahaha
Wag mo gawing kanin ang aming pulutan! 😂😂😂
Part 2 pls haha you forgot there are a lot more characters to be add up
Safe and devil free session hahaha
Okay not gonna lie, he nailed the accent (Love from the Philippines :D)
You forgot the Chaser character.
The one who hoards the chaser, especially if it's not water.
We often use TAGAY! Or still Cheers! Instead of kanpay!
The runner is usually the one who has no money to share for the session! lol.
ESCAPE ARTIST, I always do this,,sometimes we call this "Uwihi"- iihi sabay uwi,,AHAHAHAHA😅😂
Absolutely hilarious!!!
Bougart... Kulang for the dancing king and queen.
As a Filipino too, I just enjoy this comedy because my dad is sometimes that 😂😂😂
So true...
You forgot the person who eats alot of the pulutan and tries to avoid the tagay😂
the ice pick to the liver
There is also one called "The Kung Fu Kid" as he/she consumes more pulutan than alcohol. It was derived from the term "kung pumulutan ay wagas" thus the term "Kung Fu".
You also forgot the one who keeps the glass longer haha we usually say out of passive aggressive manner "naa rabay gipatay didtos unahan kay dugay kay maka inom" or in tagalog " merong pinatay dun sa kabilang kanto dahil sa tagal nya uminom." Haha
asa tong kada inum feeling broken gart? nga magpaligis ug sikad basta bulagan?
Im shooting another episode of alcohol mukbang. Napanood ko to bigla, langya natatawa ko mag isa eh 🤣🤣🤣
4:43 Accent ng totoong tagalog hahaha
Wish Kungfu were included after the runner 🤣
This video made me remeber my love for drinking alcohol and the reason to socialize with friends ands colleagues.
LETS not forget there is also the KUNGPU (Kung-Fu) MASTER the person who is always consuming most of the pulutan even when they skip or don't take shots during the drinking session. Hahaha
#KUNGPUmulutanwagas
I'm guilty of this.
ako yung pinaka malakas kumain ng pulutan s barkada ko pagdating s inuman.
hahaha
Wew last part got me
“Magtagal na sa _______ wag lang sa baso! 😜
HI BOGART!
HI CHONG!
UWIHI
Crow Whisperer: Dry heaves, as if talking orncalling crows
The Dragon: Projectile Vomitting expert, like an angry dragon beware it's fiery breath
The Drama Queen/King: adds drama to the table
The Jukebox: a member that has a guitar and plays the songs when a karaoke machine is unavailable
Boss nakalimotan nyo po sa listahan ang "Tirador ng Pulutan". 😂😂😂
👍👍👍
The last part lol
sky flakes at tuna hehehe
Awesome but you forgot to mention the "chaser" which the guys are drinking too.
Character is still short of "The Manager"
Oh you forgot the infamous creature:
PAG MAY ALAK MAY BALAK
You know what i mean pervert drinkers out there🤣
We don’t have a Tito boy, we have an uncle Joe. Sounds like rocky balboa w a heavy accent. He says the craziest stuff but funny.
The accuracy of saying kanpai
