Hi Everyone, Four weeks ago our family bought a 16-week old hand raised (from two weeks old) male cockatiel. I have been playing "if your happy and you know it for at least an hour a day in the mornings....although, often up to four hours a day, and he is now whistling the first part. I was doing "The Adams Family" and "Totoro" also during the first two weeks but am now focusing on one song.
When did he start to sing?
@@marizjohnny7780 it took him a couple of months to get the majority of the song in one hit, but about a week before he started to actually whistle and his attempts to copy progressively improved daily. Pilot my male Cockatiel is like toddler attracted to my phone when I play him this song. He gets on my hand and refuse to climb off because he knows that hand is going back to the screen.😄 He learns quick so he will know this beautiful tune in about two weeks.

Pilot does a small part of the tune with the two click sounds but then he continues with his favourite which is Saria's song from Zelda - Ocarina of time😅. I will try to play "if you're happy" as many times as I can so he can learn to do the whole tune.😋

At 2 months old it can be difficult to learn yet. It may be more effective if you try it after a few months.

My bird I just got him a few days ago he/her is 3 months and he listens to it and he wonders where it is and he looks like he wants to do something about it like chirp or something but he just is like not sure and I have heard him make a few chirps especially when I do a certain noise myself but he doesn't do it for long haha

It's normal it's take time , depending on how much time you spent with them
Yeah it was samme with me but I will tell my experience. So when i bought they were frightened but then on second day i handled then in my hand but it was incorrect. So i will tell let it take it's time first and from second day start opening cage door so if they want to come outside they will come and when you want to put them so just show them your hand don't be so close to them becaus ethey are frightened at first so after few days your hand should get closer to them so they will be not frightened of you and they will come to your hand also after few months you have to give them atleast one hour to do handtame them . so like this they will be familiar with you and can be handtame

Hi. I got a pair of cockatiels. Male and female. They both whistle but not any particular song. Just random.. will they learn to whistle by just hearing this tune?? And how long do I have to make them hear it???
Your birds need to listen to this song for at least 2 weeks. If they still don't try to say it, it means their learning skills are low. Generally, young birds learn more easily, but adult birds can also sing.
