    As an Aircraft mechanic back in the 90's I worked with a helicopter crew chief who was in Vietnam, he said in comparison they had very little trouble with the wooden rotor blades of the Bell 47

    Nice share. FYI, the weight repartition in the leading edge is also very important to provide a correct balance. Just an airplane, a rotor blade needs to have the CG forward of the center of life about 25% of chord.

    Thankyou for your information. God has blessed America in this regard with kind honest people who freely share valuable information. Mind you, I think they got my idea while doodling on paper {with high-powered satillite / when DCsniper was active} regarding extra large mass at end of blades. My idea was to make the rotor shorter & determined centrifugal throw out force helped keep the blades level so as to lift copper instead of ends of blades lifting up, so idea was to have mass at ends. Basedon what youve shown i think steel leading edge for strength but bit of lead only at end to keep the weight down. Thankyou for your time and effort to bring us this information.

    I wonder how the attachment of the composite blade is done to the hub, with composite lugs. The section of the blade shown here is filled with foam, but I believe that would not be strong enough at the attachment with the pins and bushings. I know there are some with thick solid laminate but I wonder of it's done.

  • @mohamedshafeelmohamedbilal6364

    For gyrocopter blade chord is matter? For gyrobee having 210mm chord and 11ft long blade(per blade) but I have 178mm chord and 12.2ft long (per blade) is it ok to use ? Or chord and all to be match?

    I want to make a drone by using a motorcycle engine and capable to left a person.
    If I use 150cc engine and two perpellers.
    How big should be the perpellers and how fast the rotation should be?

      Use one meter diameter and 10 RPM. It won't fly, but you won't hurt yourself too much.

    It's interesting that in the world of helicopters both radio control and full size rotor blades are either referred to as 'symmetrical' or 'asymmetrical' whereas a planes wing is 'cambered' or 'uncambered'.

    • @brianb-p6586
      @brianb-p6586 Před 6 dny

      'Symmetric' is also commonly used to describe non-cambered fixed-wing airfoils.

      Also provides specific pressure and if it gets low enough bim indicator will either go red or black signifying a potential issue and blade needs to be replaced.
