Well deserved.
Did it again with the stunt man in `The Man Who Knew Too Much` (1956) In the Albert Hall sequence the man had to fall from the boxes. He did it perfectly one take. Hitch said, `Double his salary`. On the other hand the director could be cheap, well parsimonious. He coveted that auteur theory and resented any intruders. Thus any of the team who sought personal publicity were sacked ie John Michael Hayes, others.
I once saw Mel Brooks talk about when Hitch invited him to dinner. He and Mel went to a very fancy restaurant and Hitch ordered them a very expensive dinner. They ate the first two courses in silence and before the entree came, Hitch stared at Mel for a time before saying in his classic deadpan voice "I saw "The Producers"... that the funniest god damn thing I've ever seen."
Psycho directed by him is way ahead of its time for a horror film. Hitchcock’s legacy speaks for itself.

Goes to show how overrated the Oscars are. Him along with Kubrick, Kurosawa Spielberg and Scorsese got little to no praise from the Oscars despite being considered GOATs today
Anybody I know who watches the Oscar's these days just wants to see whose dress she's wearing. They don't wanna know 'bout technicians. Yannow, the ones that really make things happen !
I read once that Raymond Burr (of Perry Mason and Rear Window fame) used to keep a cardboard cutout of Hitchcock in the window of his office at Universal Studios, and paid the tour guides to tell people "oh look, there's Alfred Hitchcock in Raymond Burr's rear window".

I'm so glad that they did a video of one of my favorite directors. I love learning about new people that I have never heard of before, but it's always awesome to hear people talking about what you already know and love. Plus, I'm excited to see if I learn anything new from this video. Keep up the great work guys.
I'm in my final year of college right now. As an elective, I took a film studies class that was also all Hitchcock. My professor, Dr. Jack Sullivan, is such a fan that he wrote and published a textbook that we were required to have for class. It's called "Hitchcock’s Music" and I'm sure you can guess from the title what it's about. He even met a few actors who worked with Hitchcock, including the late Farley Granger from "Strangers on a Train".

Can we just accept Karl as the new host so he can stop saying he's the "interim host"? He's definitely done enough that he's not only earned the spot, but we already refer to him on these channels as the fact fiend/goblin. He has the nickname, he's been hosting for months. If you dig into 80% of directors you will find something problematic. Hitch is undoubtedly a top 10 director and that’s good enough for me.
