  • The Five Nights at Freddy’s Timeline is widely considered so convoluted it can give Kingdom Hearts a run for its money. But how true is that actually? Well today I hope to answer that question as I present a neat and easy to follow timeline of events to help anyone newcomers to the series.

To address some questions that I feel will come up.
    1. This is my personal interpretation of the timeline. You are welcome to agree/disagree with it. I welcome theorizing. Just keep it civil.
    2. Yes, I am aware that Edwin and his backstory aren’t canon to the games (yet) and are exclusive to the books. However the Mimic was just made canon in Ruin, and was found in a location that seems like Fredbear’s. So to me, introducing Edwin was the best way to explain how the Mimic got there and how he’s been around for so long. I am also aware that, in the books, the Mimic wasn’t sealed in Fredbear’s initially, but a warehouse and then he was transported to the PizzaPlex and sealed afterwards. However, Gregory explicitly says in ruin that the Mimic has been down there “A very long time” and I highly doubt the PizzaPlex has been open long enough to warrant that comment.
    3. In UCN, Withered Chica says “I was the first, I have seen everything.” To me, this line always implied Susie, the girl who possessed Chica, was the first of the MCI victims, not William’s first kill. For evidence, FNAF 2’s Give Gifts, Give Life minigame clearly shows the Puppet putting the souls in the animatronics. Even if Chica were the first one killed, how can she “see everything” if the Puppet hadn’t given Susie enough remnant to fully possess Chica?
    4. In the video, I forgot to mention that Henry’s new Fredbear’s was renamed to “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza Place.” While that was a goof on my part, I still think it makes sense that the FNAF 6 pizzeria was at least built on top of the original diner. Given all the old mascots and Fredbear iconography we see below the location in Ruin.
    5. There’s debate on whether or not BV’s name is actually Evan. However I find it a much better alternative to calling him “Bite Victim” or “Crying Child” for the entire video.
    6. “But you didn’t bring up ‘x character’” the goal of this video was to present a timeline that is simple and at least somewhat makes sense, like Mr. Hippo said “If you try to read into every little thing and find meaning in everything anyone says you'll just drive yourself crazy.” So I apologize that I didn’t give Golden Freddy enough attention or didn’t touch on stuff like the Phone Guy, the bigger implications of Nightmarrione, or the CEO of new Fazbear, but if I did try to fit every single detail in, this video would be an hour long and would have a lot of information that, at least in my opinion, isn’t that important to understanding the broad strokes.

I don't believe that the real Gregory betrayed Cassie, he wasn't even near by enough to make the elevator drop, otherwise great timeline!
    Remember me when you're popular.

      Thank you so much Jaq!
And yeah there is some debate on whether or not it was Gregory or the Mimic who dropped the elevator. I went with Gregory as it’s the most surface level explanation. So, unless proven otherwise, it’s what I’ll go with.
And I’ll be sure to remember you if/when I’m popular!

This is a great video but, I have to disagree with some things. I don't think William ever cared about his children, so there's no way in hell that he would want to bring back CC/BV/Evan whatsoever, literally in the fourth closet William literally was abusive to Elizabeth he was a full on hitter.
I know it's a different continuity but still though, and if you want to consider the retro CDs in security breach, so yeah William was never a good parent and never cared about his children.
Secondly it makes more sense for Elizabeth to die after the mci. honestly it just makes more sense for William to do the mci First before moving on to build a killer robot.
don't get me wrong though I still think this is a great video, despite some of my disagreements with it you did a great job.
PS I apologize if this sounds a bit mean, I'm really terrible at wording.
And Dysgraphia + Autism really sucks. otherwise great timeline!.

It’s all good man. Like I said in my first comment, I welcome disagreement as long as it’s civil.
And TBH… I wasn’t really considering the original novel trilogy when writing this but you’re 100% right. In that continuity, William is beyond abusive and a terrible father. While we never get explicit implications of that in the games (unless you think William = Orange Guy) we do see that he locked Baby (he is aware that Elizabeth is possessing Baby at this point) in a storage bunker where she’s subjected to controlled shocks. So there is precedent for it existing.
The main reason I thought otherwise is if he is talking through the Fredbear plush, why would he say “I will put you back together.” And moreover, why would he instruct Elizabeth to stay away from Baby?
But after mulling it over, yeah you’re probably right on that.
